  1. Have you tried using a different game port? Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  2. It sounds like the daughter board ( The small vertical board at the front ) is not plugged in properly Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  3. The resistors in the 1st pic are 1meg ohm 105 One then a zero then 5 zeros= 1,000,000 ohm The 2nd pic the 205 = 2meg that 2,000,000ohm some cheap meters may struggle to read that especially in circuit The blue parts a surge protection and a meant to test open circuit and when they get a voltage spike above there rating they will go short circuit I suspect the PSU is from a 1.0-1.1 and you should test for the 3.3 volt standby at the 12 pin power plug (Brown wire) Also as it's a 1.1 I would also check for trace damage from a leaking clock capacitor Or just add wire links that join the two blue marks and the 2 purple marks I also highly recommend you post some pics of your motherboard as well.. 4. I used a LCD like this to fix a damaged X3lcd by swapping the PCB from the old X3 one to the new assembly. https://www.crystalfontz.com/product/cfah2004aptmiew-20x4-spi-character-lcd Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  5. It looks like there is one part. number 0574 it's a 900 meg file I would use a program like EaseUS partition master to remove any Xbox partitions and that way any other program thinks the HDD is brand new. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  6. That's not damage it's the laser protection link that's fitted to prevent static damage during transit. Try connecting a PC ide DVD drive to the 40way cable in place of the Xbox DVD using a 4 pin splitter to get power from the HDD, You need to have the yellow cable still connected to the Xbox DVD to tell the MB the DVD drive is closed. If it boots to a dash then you need to replace the DVD drive or fit a mod-chip then has a bios that can have the DVD check disabled. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  7. At this stage don't recap it until you get it booting to a dash What happens if you power on with out the two drives connected? On the version 1.0 it may not show any error code on the screen but it may be frashing the LED slightly different patterns Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  8. On all the different types of CD/DVD players I have worked on for the last 30 years + when the tray closes the laser pickup moves to the home position ( next to the spindle motor) it then attempts to read the TOC with the CD wave length laser ( 780 Nano meters ) then it tries the DVD version wave length ( 650 Nm ) An Xbox game is a DVD format In the video you have posted the pickup is not returning to the start position I also didn't notice the lens trying to focus either. To me that would indicate a issue with the sled motor/mech or the electronics has failed. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  9. My mistake so is mine but it's a different size. As Fatxplorer is upset about that HDD I would say the drive is corrupted. I would remove all partitions and then format in windows the use the OGXBox installer V1.5.4 disk from here https://1fichier.com/dir/mX1kipIz to set up that HDD or you could try using this tutorial to make a new HDD on you PC https://www.hazeno.com/guides/fatxplorer-2tb-preload If the Xbox works then you could try downloading a new copy of the Origins file and start again Did you download the extra files that replace some of the parts that where corrupt? Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  10. No you can not boot the Xbox from a modchip then remove it to flash the bios on the motherboard. There is a modchip that can be used to reflash the onboard bios that uses a modded M7 bios file and extra connections to the main board. https://bitbucket.org/psyko_chewbacca/lpcmod_os/wiki/xblast_lite_manual/Extra_features But as a rule in order to re-flash the onboard bios the Xbox need to load from it. If you boot from a modchip it will try and re-flash the bios that's on the modchip and not the onboard bios. If you have a failed or corrupted onboard bios you can remove the bios chip from a salvaged board of the same version or just fit a modchip and be done with it. On your version 1.0 I would try the 3 wire trick and see of it will boot from one of the other banks in the bios chip 1st.. 11. Search 2 X 20 pin header on eBay or Amazon and even a lot of electronic parts supplies will have them, Then you just cut it to size. With the D0 wire I suggest you use the alternative point on the bottom of the board I would just add wire from the pad on the board to ground and not to the mod chip Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  12. In the long run that's the easiest option and once you have re-flashed the onboard bios you can reuse the chip for doing the same with the next Xbox all you will need is a new pin header. Even if the Aladdin chip is one that can't be re-flashed easily the bios that comes on it will get you out of a bind. I have a old 8gb Xbox drive I use for sorting out some Xbox's by fitting the mod chip locking the 8gb HDD to the motherboard then removing the chip and re-flash the on board bios then unlock the HDD for next time. It's handy as I have seen a few now with dead hard drives. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  13. The IMG file I used was 1682120876kb ( 1.68tb ) Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  14. HDD raw should have formatted the new HDD into Fatx so the Xbox could use that drive as the ISO file is an image of the complete working Xbox drive. From memory I selected the ISO image then selected the source hard drive and then let it do it's thing and it took about 18 hours on my old Dell desktop. I would use any PC partition program and remove all the partitions and then do a quick format of the 2tb HDD before trying the ISO file again, The origins Image does work so it sounds like something went amiss when you where extracting the IMG file Your other option is to use a install disk and make your own HDD from scratch but you will have to find all the games and apps to copy to the new HDD. What size is the ISO image file? Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  15. With that warning I would think the HDD is not formatted for a Xbox. Are all the drives ( C, E, F, G ) on the 2tb readable in windows explorer? Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  16. Did you get the latest version and not the old Xbox360 version https://fatxplorer.eaton-works.com/2022/08/09/fatxplorer-3-0-beta-22-16-tb-xbox-360-internal-hdd-support-updated-usb-patches/ I have used this version to look at the files on my 2tb HDD that was made from the ISO file that you would have used. Other wise you could use the Ogxbox installer v1.5.4 from here to cold boot ( Load the DVD in the drive and power down the Xbox for 30 seconds and then power on again ) the Xbox then while the installer disk is running then you can FTP the config file to the Xbox C Drive. The OGXbox installer can be found here https://1fichier.com/dir/mX1kipIz Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  17. Did you put the cerbios.ini file on c drive ? I just tried to boot my 2tb Origins HDD using Cerbios 2.2.0 without the config file on C drive and it wouldn't boot Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  18. The easiest way is a modchip as that way you can load a install DVD like the OGXbox installer and restore the files on the HDD and relock it. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  19. No the only way to load a non signed disk is with a modded bios. You can make a eeprom reader/writer I made a simple read/writer that connects to a serial port that costs less than $5 or you can make this. https://github.com/Ryzee119/ArduinoProm It's a bit late now now this is how I re-flash the onboard bios. Add 2 links. Copy the game same. Load the game and launch the game save. FTP to the Xbox and re-flash the bios. Done. https://youtu.be/rnsCy9y6Gi4 Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  20. The drive unlock happens in the few seconds after power on. If you are still getting the animation follow the same procedure and you should be able to reconnect it to your PC. The best way is fit a mod chip and that will allow you to boot the OGXbox installer DVD and from there you can repair the HDD or replace and setup the HDD with a new larger drive. Another option is read the eeprom with a external reader/writer then using that file you can use Fatxplorer to connect the HDD to your PC and that program can unlock/relock the HDD from that file and then you have full access to the hard drive. 21. Can you upload a pic of the rebuild you did on your Xbox? Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  22. Is the cerbios the latest? it should be version 2.2.0 Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  23. Goto rocky5's git hub and download the prebuilt version of xbmc4gamers https://github.com/Rocky5/XBMC4Gamers then FTP the contents to the Zip file to E: drive. It should look like this E:xbmc4gamers\ In the Cerbios config file (cerbios.ini) that's on the C drive edit the dash path to look like this. ; Dash paths (always falls back to \Device\Harddisk0\Partition2\xboxdash.xbe) DashPath1 = \Device\Harddisk0\Partition1\xbmc4gamers\default.xbe ; evoxdash.xbe DashPath2 = \Device\Harddisk0\Partition2\avalaunch.xbe DashPath3 = \Device\Harddisk0\Partition2\nexgen.xbe Then on reboot it will load xbmc4gamers as the default dash. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  24. Search eBay as you should be able find a seller just selling the heat sink and mounting clip. Or you can but the brackets pre 3D printed to fit a new fan https://www.etsy.com/au/listing/950391159/original-xbox-gpu-fan-upgradereplacement Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  25. Re-soldering the pins is the only fix but you will get another 15 years. You can replace the fan and use some 3D printed adaptors or better is replace the heat sink with one from a 1.1-1.6 and ditch the fan. When it comes to removing the old heat sink power on the Xbox for 5 minutes with the GPU fan unplugged and that softens the heat transfer pad that MS used.
