  1. Can you upload a picture what's on the screen and the modchip to a file share site ( I use https://postimages.org ) and then add the link here. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  2. I am very confident that a new mod-chip will fix it as with all your testing if I was the seller I would be sending you a replacement chip and including a return postage so I could see what happened to the 1st mod-chip. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  3. Fatxplorer beta v22 can unlock a Xbox HDD on a PC by trying the known passwords like the master passwords and others like the nulled keys and teamassembly plus some others or if you have the eeprom data for the Xbox it came from. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  4. It can not read the HDD key from the hard drive if that's what your trying to do, The key is stored on the Disk Plater and not on the HDD's PCB. The way I understand it, If you change the HDD key in the EEprom while the hard drive is connected and unlocked it will then relock with the key you made and the most common these days is 32 X one (11111111111111111111111111111111) I have swapped the PCB's between a unlocked and locked hard drive of the same model drives and the unlocked HDD stayed unlocked with the locked drive remaining locked. The key that's saved on the HDD has to match what's in the EEprom in order to unlock. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  5. NO. Each Xbox has a unique HDD key that's calculated from the Xbox serial number It will only work if you have the same HDD key on both Xbox's Unless you know that both Xbox's have been NULLED it won't work. Eac Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  6. Yes. I would suggest you save a copy to of that file to your PC.. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  7. Each Xbox has it's own HDD key unless you have nulled the HDD key ( nulled with all ones (32 X ones) or all zeros (32 X zeros)) in the EEprom of both Xbox boards then yes you can lock the HDD in the other Xbox. If you have a copy of the original EEprom.bin from the board that's giving error 5 you can use Fatxplorer beta V22 to lock the HDD to that EEprom.bin data file or use a external EEprom reader/writer to get the EEprom /bin data file and then use Fatxplorer to lock the HDD, But in my view the easiest is refit the mod-chip to lock the HDD and once you can boot to the Xbox again re-flash the onboard bios then you don't need to worry about locking the HDD again. Why did you un-install the mod-chip? Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  8. The latest solder work is 100% better and well done on cleaning up the excess solder, The D0 wire to the main board is also an excellent example of how people should be attaching that wire to the board . As I mentioned before it's not really the quality of the tool that makes a good job it's the operator, But a good tools help make the job easier. If you get your hands some old PCB's to practice on soldering gets easier, Get some good quality 60/40 leaded solder and flux paste and a hand operated solder sucker along with the solder wick is a good start. Now I am just been picky the 2 in red are the only joints that let that entire LPC down. and red wire to the D0 on the board did look better in the 1st pics so i suspect you have un-soldered and re-soldered it. Total 9.5/10 and you should be proud of the work you have done. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  9. The Hakko brand (FX-888D) is probably the best of the budget brands, I have a 15+ year old Hakko and it's never been a problem. I have got a 2nd hand piece with a large tip for soldering parts like the capacitors next to the heat sink and the smaller hand piece with a fine tip for soldering IC's and the like. I also have a cheap (eBay) solder/hot air station that I use as well and it also uses the Hakko hand pieces/tips. It's not really the tool that makes a good job it's the operator, But a good tools help make the job easier. 10. That's a 100% improvement, And that a good result for you with the seller sending you a replacement. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  11. I have on seen one brand of PSU that I would suggest you modify and in the long run it's safer for most people to get the correct supply There is 3 types of PSU and 2 versions of each 1.0-1.1, 1.2-1.4, 1.6 and 110 volt or 220 volt Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  12. It sounds like something is not right with your install. It will help if you upload some pic's of your work to a share site ( I use https://postimages.org/ ) and add the links here. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  13. Pins 13 to 16 of the LPC Port have no affect as in your application they are not needed/used, It will not matter if the hole is full of solder or empty. I suggest you send a link to this page as I believe you have thoroughly tested your install, Even thought the solder work is not the best I have seen I have seen a hell of lot worse ( and I mean solder that looks like the person used a stick welder) that's working. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  14. 0.02volt on pin 2 (Ground) is fine. It is sounding more like the 49lf080 is empty. When I made my Xblast chip, You program the CPLD ( Lattice chip ) 1st then you can either flash the 49lf080 in a external read/writer or boot the Xbox with a working mod-chip chip then hot swap to the new Xblast chip and flash the 49lf080 from a Xbox app. It's possible the seller mistakably shipped it with a blank eeprom (49lf080). As long as the chip 49lf080 has got the Xblast bios flashed it should boot and then from there you can add two more bios files. Lets see what the seller replies to your email. 15. Some DVD drives read DVD-r better than others so swapping the DVD drive might help Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  16. I agree and I think we have been though all the trouble shooting except for testing a known working chip on his Xbox. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  17. If the voltages are correct with the D0 disconnected ( Close to the readings I posted before on my Xblast chip ) then it's highly unlikely the CPLD flash is the problem and more the 49lf080 is blank. As you have paid for a working Xblast mod chip I suggest you contact the seller and ask politely for a replacement as most sellers are happy to help. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  18. When burning any DVD's for the Xbox I always set the write speed as slow as possible and I have always used Verbatim DVD-r. I recently used a USB DVD writer and it was even slower that the desktop DVD writer. Generally all Xbox bios's will cold boot a DVD disk by loading the disk in the DVD drive and power off the Xbox for 30 seconds then power on with the power button, There is 2 exceptions the new Cerbios has a mode that's made to have 2 hard drives connected instead of a DVD and HDD and the Evox bios that's on some of the Hexen Disks as the bios has had the reference to the DVD removed. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  19. The last resistance readings you did lead me to think you have a faulty mod-chip, I think the CPLD is probably working as it activates the D0 but when it comes time to read the 1st 256kb of the eeprom for Xblast OS this is where is fails. I wonder if the seller forgot to flash the eeprom. The only real way to 100% confirm the chip is at fault is to either plug a different chip on your Xbox or fit your Xblast chip to a known working chipped Xbox. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  20. you can use a EEProm reader to get the HDD key from the Xbox then build a new HDD on a PC, Or you can soft mod it and use a app to retrive the HDD key, Or in my view hard mod it ( mod-chip or re-flash the onboard bios) and then use a PC to make a new large HDD/SSD and load that up with games and save the DVD as it's going to be the next thing to fail A hard mod means you don't need the HDD key as the hard drive can be left unlocked, a soft-mod requires the hard drive be locked to the mother board with a key that's saved in the EEProm. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  21. What happens if you remove the red wire from the mod chip and solder it to ground ( Screw hole ) instead of the mod-chip Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  22. Remove the board from the Xbox and stand the board on it's edge and bit ilke this that way you can have a probe on each side to test for resistance. You set your meter on Ohm's and test from the solder on the bottom of the board to the point's on the mod-chip where I got you to test for voltage. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  23. Can you do a resistance test between the mod chip pin 1 ( the point that's reading 0.02volt) and pin 1 on the MB (the pin that was reading 1.7 volt) You will need access to both sides of the board. And if you can test all the other pins as well Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  24. Try this link it was missing the last two letters (My Bad) https://1fichier.com/dir/mX1kipIz Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  25. Yes have the D0 connected. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
