Hi Guys. Stumbled across this beauty last week and i forgot i owned this.

Shall i... Or shall i not.. still works perfectly however concerned about the clock cap itself.

Is this a gem i should not tamper with or should i rip its guts out and get modding. I am torn here...!!!

    IMG20230802215532.jpg

If it's a 1.6 I would replace the cap.  If it's a 1.0-1.4/5 I would either remove clock cap or replace it with a super cap.  These semi clear systems are really nice for LED mods.  SSD upgrades are nice with mod and they are dropping in price daily.  Many other mods you can do to this beauty.

Well that wasn't cheap, small orders suck...

It is what it is, I don't even wanna know what the total was.

I had to order a bunch of components that I didnt have on hand.

I kinda just made do last time but it was just the modchip.

Since the modchip is a couple of steps ahead of the HDMI mod in development.

My plans are to order 100x XeniumICE v3.0 modchips first and shortly after 100x XeniumHD+ mods

including all the supporting hardware and cables. I could definitely order more but I think it would

be safer to see how the first batch goes out in the wild before committing to larger orders.

Plus I should be able to cover the costs of a smaller order without needing to do pre-orders and such.

Tomorrow is the start of the new financial year, after I do a quick stocktake I'll start a EOFY sale on Revision 2.1 hardware.

The more funds I can raise in the meantime the less I have to worry about when ordering the first batch of things.

Count me in!  Following this closely :)

So PS is essentially a kernel replacement.  So other programs can only see what the kernel lets them see.   New update coming this week. ::fingers crossed:: 128 is in the update.   But I think it’s a few fixes

Yeah pretty much.  My $7 aladdin can do 128MB.  Just saying haha.  I'm sure Dustin will deliver and make Stellar Stellar.

Okay now I'm confused. What do you mean? Shouldn't some xbes be patched to allow for 128mb usage?... XBMC being one of them?

He's saying Project Stellar and 128mb isn't turned on yet.  Dustin said next update would have it and be huge with other features turned on.  New update came out and it was minimal.

I actually suffer from Obsessive-compulsive personality disorder (OCPD)

So I'm going to need you guys to tell me when to chill out.

Is the above QSB good enough?

I still think the hole for the capacitor could be moved upwards by about 0.4 to 0.6mm

Otherwise I'm pretty happy with the design.

For this design I will improve it but that's just an example of the little things I fuss about.

Much of what I fuss about it the over appearance.

I put alot of time into making things look good.

    Often way too much time...

I've done two versions of the HDMI mod but am just not liking the overall look of it.

Plus I hadn't fully decided how to go about connectivity which I might just use JST-SH

connectors for everything and do without solder pads...

I might just go 4-layer PCB design which will give me more design options and less headaches.

I think it looks really good as is.

But it's not fragging. It's acting like it's working. Solid green light. Got it to boot once. I don't wanna have to replace the AV port due to bad Spring contacts...

Shoot I forgot if it fragged sometimes and solid green others.  Not sure if its exactly what your issue is but I did get video from slightly moving av connection around.  System came in for hd+ install so I didnt mind giving it a shot and it all worked out.  I'm assuming you checked the normal trace rot traces?

  7. I'm following this thread closely since MakeMhz decided to make hd+ only work with stellat now so its $160+ no matter what.  Dustin did say it was to reduce cost but it increased cost to the customer.  He didn't have a problem selling them before all those years so we know its just him pushing $100 Stellar chip on people as its transparent.  Either way it's awesome to have competition for the masses.

On to my next project. :)

This is the 1.4 board that came from the 1.6 Halo console. It's why I transplanted. This is the shell that the 1.6 was in.

I can not get it to boot with video. It'll even flash green and orange without the AV cable plugged in, but when it's plugged in? Nothing.

One time. I got video output ONE TIME for no apparent reason. Got the green blubber and everything. Couldn't believe it. Next boot, nothing. Just a green light. I found a lot of bugs in this case for some reason and they may have caused a short... I'm hoping it was just in storage... And that I didn't fry it when I tested it the first time... I didn't know there were like, 147 bugs inside, man...

Any idea where to start? Or should I just give up now? I did verify that it's not a corroded AV port.

Had a 1.6 Halo come in other day that did just this.  Showed image once and would frag rest of the time.  Its Green Halo console I showed in the Nemesis thread.  It ended up being bad AV port and works perfect with Stellar HD+ now.

All good... Have you or anyone else installed one of the HDMI mods before?

Could there be any improvements in regards to installation?

I've done quite a few installs.  I've tried various methods with the flex cable install.  Seems to be the hardest part for people.  Not really sure on how that could be improved.spacer.png

Glad you guys like it so far...

Designing that fan caddy was a nightmare, it's something I've been working on for a few years now.

Managed to do all HDD caddy among other things when I first got a 3D printer.

And all of that was to support the dual fan caddy idea.

Tolerances were extremely tight and much of it had to be spot-on for it to even fit.

I broke up the design into separate parts to better suit 3D printing.

This helped alot in making the design look interesting from all angles.

But I'm a little stuck on cable management, I tried to allow for it with cutouts.

I like the Noctua 80mm Chromax fans as they have a really short cable coming off them.

Making a custom cable to suit wouldn't be too difficult.

Alternatively, could do something similar using a PCB with molex and fan connectors

And since we have a PCB why not implement a PWM fan controller.

I have not had the chance to see what the airflow will be like (with and without top shielding)

Even though I'm confident, I've somewhat been hesitant to test it after putting all this time into it.

I need to pull out an old shell that's in bad condition, drill a hole in the back so I can adjust fan speed

while the lid is on. Perhaps use some incense sticks to help visualize airflow.

This is probably the first thing I could use testers for, just need to print it.

The PCB designs will take a bit longer before I'm ready for testers.

Loving the progress!  I have all models available and can 3d print on my side as well.  Keep me in mind if you need any kinda testing needed.

Thanks to @zzattack and his help I have been able to more successfully complete CPU Upgrades (2/2) with his technique so far!  Will be getting some units up for sale as soon as I can figure out the proper cooling technique!

The VCORE Voltage Modifications necessary for 1.45volts on a v1.6 xbox is as follows (using 0ohm resistors)

Forgot to post this here, i finally installed this thing last month. I’m very proud of this i’ve never really tackled anything this difficult. Best part is, it worked on the first try. I posted about this awhile back looking for advice, but i decided to jump right in and do it after being afraid to for so long. But wow this mod blew me away. Too bad i didn’t install this in my main xbox :(

(Don’t worry about the long cables, i shortened them to the appropriate length after testing)

XBlast only reads BIOS files from a certain location, but it doesn't much care about the actual file names. Put multiple files with different titles in C:\BIOS and it'll list them just fine.

Heimdall used the "bios.bin" title in HeXEn, which may've given you the wrong idea? That wasn't because of any limitations in XBlast, it was just so he could tell users to select that specific file name when the flashing screen came up.

Xblast with net flash bios name can be whatever.  Best and easy way to flash.
