I did my first tsop last night and flashed Cerbios to it. It all works good, but my IGR double boots as well. Selecting restart/reboot in XBMC operates as expected, only IGR.

I've tried disabling AV Check in Cerbios Tool, changing back to UDMA 2, and modifying Cerbios.ini. Heres a video of it, and contents of C. I also noticed that when in UnleashX, selecting 'load ms dash', it says its missing xb0xdash.xbe, I only have xboxdash.xbe.

I deleted the bootanim folder for faster boots as well. I downloaded Dashloader Customizer off 4Gamers downloader and ran it, but I feel I need to do something else, it's not working. It created a dashloader folder in C, with the buttons I created, but nothing happens.

How did you TSOP flash, from a softmod? Do you have a softmod setup now, by chance? What happens when you load xboxdash.xbe from Unleash's file manager?

IIRC, they also have a different MCPX chip v2 instead of the retail unit's v3 version.

What does this mean in practical terms? Was serial debugging possible with the MCPX X2, but not used? I guess it may have just been what came before the X3 and that's all.

Rev C. I built a handful of these a few months before they released the Rev D. I'm planning on assembling another half dozen of this revision though. USB C is incredibly convenient. Do you have a parts list handy from your recent mouser order?

@applesauceman You should be able to upload this into Mouser. I don't have time for a true BOM file right now (who knows; maybe this actually IS a BOM and it's simpler than I think it is. lol), but if you go to tools on their website you should be able to easily upload and translate this Excel spreadsheet to a "BOM". I tested it and it loads perfectly, creating a useable cart for checkout. I made sure to include proper quantities and Customer Reference numbers so you can follow the silkscreen part designations.

Edit: @applesauceman BTW, I had to substitute the 14.3181MHZ crystal for another one that was still being manufactured. The pinout is the same and it is compatible, according to both the datasheets. The footprint is slightly different, but the contact spacing and placement is more or less the same. If you must have the original crystals, they are available on ebay from China, although, I can see you've built a few recently so I'm sure you've settled on a solution at this point. :)

    Here’s the video….. it’s a shit old Aladdin, they do work….

    You still think I’m ryzee119 or affiliated…..

I told him I’m not happy with the chip being soldered, he said he did it because the pin header can corrode.

Nah, I don't think you're MM. 😛 I'm glad you had an old Aladdin to use. Looks like they had what they needed to make BT and D0 work.

"he said he did it because the pin header can corrode." - That is 100 percent BS and makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Total Gibberish. If that were true then you would be seeing other people doing it. NOBODY does it. A pin header is no more subject to corrosion than soldering the chip directly to the LPC. He did it to make it hard to work on so you would send it back to him and not be able to upgrade anything on your own... He is lying to you, dude.

I’m telling you it does work on the old aladdin’s.

Can anybody verify that this Version of the Aladdin has the D0 and BT pads working? I'm not calling you a liar, just not familiar with ANY Aladdins with working D0 and BT. I notice that it is a bit different than my AliExpress PCB, 1MB upgraded version.

  6. I saw you in this page here, Kaos... :
    @KaosEngineer https://assemblergames.org/viewtopic.php?t=59850 - More info about serial/kernel debugging.

It seems that the Debug Kit simply had 128MB of RAM and the only debugging came from the dashboard or bios and transferred through LAN. As far as I know nothing else is different from a stock/retail console. However...

If you go to 4:00, you will see what the SuperIO I am building and featuring in the build is taking the place of. It was featured in the DXT-3 and 4. This is Kernel level debugging. When using the simple, green Debug Kit, I don't think these consoles had this. They only could debug at a certain level, which was the software being run, but not any lower than that. This is pretty much the ultimate debugger, and you can actually see that it shares the same basic chipset and interfaces through the LPC, albeit with LFrame attached.

So what  is LFrame, anyway? What is it's purpose when kicking the MCPX over to the LPC in a 1.6? Why does it enable debugging through the LPC? Why did the Debug Kits (DVT-1 &2) not have kernel level debugging but the Development Kits (DVT-3&4) did? And what is the UART pin header for on this debugger?

I need to be straightened out here! :)

  7. In order to use the Super IO Kernel debugging unit, I will need to reconnect LFrame to the LPC/MCPX.

    500px-Dreimer-lframe-v1-3-windbg.png

I seem to have pulled it off. I won't know for sure until I get the second resistor array for the debugger.

I have so many overly rich, green parts to install and I am jonesing. 😛 This debugger needs to get done and these LEDs need to come in already.

    PXL_20240407_230748988.jpg

I am using molex connectors to attach the status LED wires, so that if I ever need to do work on the motherboard, I can just unplug the LED wires going up front and pull out the board. I don't know why there is fuzz on one of the molexes.

The modshop has finished with the orig xbox and a little disappointed....he soldered the mod chip to the damn pin header.....what would be a 5sec job if the mod chip was to die now makes it hard to swap.

Also mainly OCD but he didn't fold the xbox pata cables the same as before.

And on the OX modchip pictured above anyone else think the OX/Ryzee119 text looks like he took flux and hot air to it, because he didn't want to install it.

Just doesn't look right compared to all the others you see on eBay.......I didn't check before I sent it away, was in a anti static bag (someone else also gave “console mods au” on eBay bad review on bad soldering too but nothing like above).

And come to think of it the 360 unlocked PCB I gave him, he said it was dead on arrival yet was official TX product from http://www.modchipcentral.com

WTF would he SOLDER the chip to the LPC for? That is the dumbest, most pointless thing. The only thing I can think of is that you wouldn't want to even touch it if you wanted to change something with the chip or whatever and he wanted to make it difficult to do so so that you would send it back to them. Literally. That pisses me off.

I keep hearing about these modding services and seeing results that are so much fucking worse than the work I would have done.

Also... BT and D0 don't work on Aladdins yet, so I dunno what those wires are hooked up to.

    Hey Bowl...

My 2 cents on having a full ISO collection over HDD ready....

    Wasted HDD space.

I know you read the thread about cluster size and small files etc, as you replied in it :)

I'm now running a 6TB drive with a full CCi set... with FatXplorer it takes a few mins to connect up the drive extract the file and mod a game, that way I ALWAYS have a backup of the original files and can have both the original and modded game on the drive. They show up under different folders on my XBMC.

I also get that with huge drives now available to use the space issue is not such a problem but for those who aren't going down the HUGE HDD route this is important knowledge as it could be the difference bewteen getting everything they want on the drive or not. My old 2TB setup had extracted games for everything EXCEPT those that had issues AND those that had 100s/1000s of tiny files, These were ISO files and this combo enabled me to get a full USA set plus PAL/JAPAN exclusives on the 2TB drive. The only games I missed off were all but 1 of the Club Football variants as those were all the same game just branded differently.

I laughed as I looked back on this post. I was such a tool even a few MONTHS ago.

So I still love "HDD Ready" structure, but I understand the practicality of ISOs in many instances. I do feel comfy though when I'm able to just go into a folder and browse contents, kinda like going into "Program Files" on my PC like I have over all these years. Just makes sense to me. I talked with @lopenator about this a while back and I think he said it equated to some gigs in difference between ISOs and files. Like, 1.4TB to 1.7 maybe? I could be wrong. My question is, what else is really going to take up several gigs of space on a 2TB HDD (the most relevant capacity in this instance)? All the roms and emulators are already there. Maybe DVDs or music? I can't think of anything else...

How I do my testing if I need to test large amounts of games is: start the game and play the first 5 minutes. If the game works then, the chance is big there are no issues later ingame (of cource with hdd ready and the long file names you never are 100% sure, but you need to start somewhere)

We took the origins build to test because it was the origins build you had. But if you look at the list, all games can be found on that list. I could not verify what was on there and what not because I dont have an origins drive anymore.

I'll try to start going through the list this week and I'll start updating the document accordingly.

@Bowlsnapper did once say to me he would test all games on the origins image to see if they work or not. As I like to document things for the community I did make a google sheet for him so he could document it. I added the games to that sheet that I remembered and was sure of myself. The sheet can be found here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qwEGVrEeFoB9ILsYHxY6KRdORlz8dUq4MXToV97wY-I/edit#gid=0

Other games that I think needed iso are:

    • Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban
    • Monster Garage
    • Tony Hawk's American Wasteland
    • Tony Hawk's Project 8
    • Frankie Dettori Racing

All because of long filenames, but I didn't add them because I wasn't totally sure about them (maybe they where patched in origins idk), It is a long time ago I was playing with the origins build till I switched over to a full extract-xiso set.

I deleted the origins build so dont have a version anymore to verify

Now Im using a full repackinator xiso set paired with cci (sport games are cci in my build to save up space for emulators)

@arfows Yes, I remember saying that. It is a daunting task which will take time, however, I can load up a certain amount of games every day, really. Is this strictly for the Origins setup? Because I KNOW it doesn't have every game in it... Also, how far into the game are we trying to get? Just loading, or running it? Because beating the game obviously isn't practical. Are the errors just due to things that ACL patching cannot remedy, or other things? Do people know what they are?

The Aladdin modchip guide on how to wire it up had HDD activity on the sheet.

No idea how they did dvd drive.

Yes, the DVD drive is what I am wondering about. The HDD and LAN are in the Xecuter 3 install guide as well. This seems to be separate, however from the IDE activity signal.

  13. From left to right: DVD Ready, DVD Activity, HDD activity, LAN activity. The DVD activity light is separated from the HDD activity light and DVD Ready light is present.

How was this done? I know about the HDD activity signal, but that is handled on the right of this little custom housing. The left two LEDs are the ones I am wondering about. I assume it involves tapping onto the DVD ROM drive PCB. @KaosEngineer

A reflow of the additional RAM chips solved my freezing issue. Turns out that XblastOS can pass tests even with some pins not secured.

Yeah, I've had to ignore XBlast testing a few times and check those legs with tweezers, finding them loose sometimes. Makes me wonder how comprehensive that test really is.

Awesome. Glad it worked out for you :)

What is the easiest way to match a HDD to a console ATM? Changing a console EEPROM by reading the HDD key, or changing the HDD key by reading the EEPROM?
