stuCONNERS
Does anyone have any tips for making the controller s wireless? My understanding is that the yellow wire isn't needed and the posts are just usb 1.1. I can fit a 5v battery in the controller and I can get a recharge circuit, so that's the battery covered. Would 2 of these be suitable to solder, one in the controller and the other inside the xbox? https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/202172642349?chn=ps&ul_ref=https%3A%2F%2Frover.ebay.com%2Frover%2F1%2F710-134428-41853-0%2F2%3Fmpre%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Fwww.ebay.co.uk%252Fi%252F202172642349%253Fchn%253Dps%26itemid%3D202172642349%26targetid%3D520884085919%26device%3Dm%26adtype%3Dpla%26googleloc%3D1006816%26poi%3D%26campaignid%3D1594021339%26adgroupid%3D62960991511%26rlsatarget%3Dpla-520884085919%26abcId%3D1139126%26merchantid%3D118951391%26gclid%3DCjwKCAiAgrfhBRA3EiwAnfF4tlNEH_Khzzqr0_gSwgxwiTNZS9s4t5kY_-pYXpeb-v4Px1HkMcnrhhoCYvIQAvD_BwE%26srcrot%3D710-134428-41853-0%26rvr_id%3D1805951190053%26rvr_ts%3D17ace08c1680aaa276b2dfd6ffd10d47 Any help would be great

ecstone
The yellow wire is not needed. This might work but I wonder about the lag it might cause. I can feel the difference between a regular corded controller and even a high quality wireless controller. If you have the parts it would be a fun project just to try out though. ecstone
I notice it most on games that require exact timing. In Prince of Persia when you are performing wall jumps you have to hit the jump button at the exact time, on a wireless controller I have to adjust my timing on when I push the button. It's more evident when playing emulators, precise button timing makes all the difference in whether you can finish an old NES platformer or not. It's hard to describe but you definitely feel the difference when you are playing.
neighbor
got you, but what's the brand of your wireless controller?
ecstone
I've tried Logitech and Pelican. The Logitech are definitely good but I still notice the input lag. The Pelican are garbage as far as input lag goes.
