This thing has been 4 months in the making! I recently had a broken original Xbox and I thought that would be a really cool project to turn it into a sleeper PC. The motherboard was long gone (capacitor corroded the board), and the disk tray didn’t work. So I decided to give this old case new life.

I call it the Ex-BOX, and it’s the most powerful Xbox in the world.

Inside is an RTX 4070, Ryzen 7 5800X3D, 32GB 3600MHz RAM, 2TB Samsung 990 Pro, and a 600W Platinum power supply. Two of the original Xbox ports have been rewired to fully function with the PC, as can be seen in the video where it’s controlling Halo. The buttons can be remapped through the program and up to two original controllers can be used simultaneously. It would be a perfect setup for running Xbox games through Yuzu if you have the know-how and rip the games yourself. Two of the controller ports have been swapped for USB 3.0 ports, which can also be used for controllers or just for mouse and keyboard, headsets, flash drives, or whatever your heart desires.

The Ex-BOX will ship in an original Xbox box, two original Xbox controllers, and the power cord. I’m asking for $2,600 shipped to anywhere in the contiguous US. $20 more to ship to Hawaii, Alaska, or Canada. I’m open to offers but am pretty set on the price as it’s not that much more than parts used AND for the effort and labor that went into making it. If you’re not interested in buying, I just want y’all to see it and I hope you enjoy!

Should have brought project back to its roots and installed Kodi (formerly Xbox Media Center). There are a ton of fully customizable skins and plugins to fit your needs to make your build so much more personalized to fit the XBOX theme. The program was so good that Microsoft gave up making their own Windows Media Center which am pretty sure was around before XBMC came to PC.

I saw that on Facebook. I've always wanted to do it.
