  1. I've just tried to install the chip using this guide: https://consolemods.org/wiki/Xbox:Aladdin More precisely I soldered the pin header and the 3.3V, LAD0, LAD1, LAD2 and LAD3. I made a blunder and ruined the trace by R7P4, so needed to reroute it. I would have routed through the hole at the chip pin, but the hole had solder in it that I haven't been able to remove, so I resorted to the hideous mess you can see on the picture. I have checked all the connections with a multimeter. There is 3.3 on pin9. LAD1-3) I have checked as much as I could by putting one of the multimeter probes on the tip of the pin and the other on a point on the trace that is not the solder point directly. In other words, I am reasonably sure that the soldering is "ok" I also cut the L trace because the MrMario2011 video said so. But when I booted only a black screen would show and FRAG. So I restored the L trace to be able to boot into stock BIOS. Now I can only boot into stock. Am I missing something? Have I done something wrong? What can I check? The chip lights red whenever power is plugged into the xbox. I noticed that if I put the chip in with the BT not soldered on the chip the led would dim slightly whenever the xbox was turned on. After I soldering it, it would not dim. Don't know if it means anything. Just mentioning it.
  2. Bought two of these years ago but never installed them. Motherboard died recently so I replaced it, softmodded, installed SSD. Trying to get TSOP working. Have a ghost case so I’d like to remove the DVD drive, caddy and HDD mount.
  3. I've read that this could be a failed memory module but I'd like some more info before I go ahead and start replacing those. I've seen some things that conflict with that info; LPC pin 5's trace, video encoder, etc. random nonsense. The board looks clean, I can't see any corrosion or trace damage, caps looks fine, I scrubbed it with IPA especially around the RAM and had no luck. Maybe someone else that's dealt with this before can share their experience.
  4. Dear All, As you know, the stock fan of original Xbox is quite loud, and given the age about 15 to 16 years I decided to upgrade/replace the fan, read some forums and some suggest the Nexus 70mm Real Silence fan, which has an airflow of 21.1 CFM, but since I'm from Europe this fan is not available almost in no place, owing probably to being an older fan design, looked for alternatives, and some suggested a Noctua 80mm which we need to butch the HDD plastic bay to fit on the box, but there's also a 60mm model, which fits excellently which is NF-A6x25 FLX. that address an airflow of 29,2 CFM which is better than the first solution Nexus 70 mm. Alright connected the fan with the 4 anti vibration rubbers and this is the final result. Still haven't replace the thermal paste, that's going to be my next project, really now I have a quiet XBOX on my hands
  5. I'm going to replace my original XBox HDD with a larger capacity one. In the meantime, since the original HDD has been modified (additional dashboards etc), what is the best way to put it back to "stock" mode and to remove everything that got installed when it was originally hard-modded?
  6. Does someone have stock .BINs files of the bios for the DuoX 3 modchip? Both banks please. Would like to return it to stock. (Image source= https://www.nh-game.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=92)
  7. Hardmod is done on 1.6 but I still have the stock hard drive , should it be locked or is there something I need to do? I have recently install kixxx emulator but have it in apps in the boot dash that hexen installed as I don't see how to put in emulators folder. Works fine just wrong location, how do I move into emulators folder? Still learning how this file system all works.
  8. Hi guys, After softmodding my xbox with the rocky5 method, it is now time for something new: TSOP. I read a lot of inormation and prepared everything (soldered the points on my ST TSOP 1.0), and decided to go for the Hexen 2018 disc and Evox M8 (F+G) bios). After I succesfully modded my xbox, i would like to unlock the stock hdd. I know that after a TSOP mod you can swap in every blank unlocked hdd. But I can't find what kind of utility I need to use to unlock my original stock hdd..
  9. Looking for a recommended setup for a stock 8gb softmod gaming wise. Curious as to what people would use the small amount of space for. Any homebrew or emulators that are a must?
