About Me

  1. Hi I want to ask what kind of Pico psu need to use and what Powersupply i need. I read about 12 volts 10 amps or do I need one with 16 amps? Is only 12 volt or could I also use 24 Volts? I wanna put one of these insode a xbox 1.4. https://github.com/wiredopposite/ATX2Xbox
  2. I've been trying to install an RPP2040 using the MODXO schematic on a 1.4 board for a few days without success. I followed the original connection diagram from Team Resurgent, the instructions on how to program the RP2040 with Cerbios first, but the console simply tries to boot 3 times and nothing happens, just the red and green lights flashing. I changed the RP2040, followed the procedure to use PrometheOS 1.5 and the same thing happens. If I completely remove the RP2040, the console boots normally (the original HD is working perfectly, the drive no longer reads). Where can I find a guide as descriptive as possible specific to this revision of the XBOX 1.4? I have tried several options in the process (changing the rp2040 board, changing the USB cable, changing the PC's USB port used, previous versions of each BIOS, changing the wires used in the installation, etc...) with no practical effect so far. I welcome any advice!
  3. HI! I'm new here, but I have been consulting the subreddit for some time now, but I thought I may try here too. I had some trouble softmodding my original Xbox last month. I was attempting Rocky5's Endgame and every single time it gives me flashing red/yellow/green lights. I have read that this indicates a success, but then it never boots into the dashboard. I've tried dozens of times, and tried different cables and settings - none of which worked. I attributed this to the dying HDD which I have since upgraded to an SSD, however, even after the upgrade I am still getting the same problems. Since I have upgraded my SSD, I have all the required and necessary cables to unlock and relock the SSD, so I could just remove it, unlock it, add the softmod files, and then relock it and see if that works. What files do I need to add to the SSD? And what partition do I put them in for it to work properly? Also, once I get the Rocky5 softmod working, I'd like to switch it to a "stock" dashboard to give it a more authentic feel. Where can I find the file for that and how can I add it on? My disk drive is for sure bad, even after a recap, so my next best thing would be to download the games from the disks I have and upload them straight to the SSD, but I need the Rocky5 softmod for that to work. For reference, I have a 1.0 Xbox with a Thomson drive. I upgraded the HDD to a Western Digital SSD. The kernel is 1.00.4034.01 and the current dashboard is 1.00.5960.01. The SSD upgrade works perfect (minus the not reading disks), so I shouldn't run into any issue with it if I do it right.
  4. So I still have a crystal edition with 2 controllers in a original flip carrying case from 2004 while deployed in South Korea. I had to order this supreme package Xbox and wait a week for it. This Xbox was built by an actual tech business that was inside camp Casey px shopping complex on post. It has all the trimmings, HDMI, read and write drive, emulators for every other consol, flip carrying bag, all built in 2004 around launch date. Unfortunately I was so excited, and I had the carrying case, so I left the boxes there so I wouldn't have to walk to the barracks with it. It has all manuals and even the receipt. Believe it costed 450-480 bucks. Has anyone else ever come across one like I have?
  5. Hi all, I was given this power supply and I can´t find much information online about it. I need to know more before I connect it to the power outlet because i don´t want to break it! I did saw some topics and pictures on the forum from people in the UK who had the same "TUSCANY" Branded PSU. so if UK is 230v then i wanted to know if mine is also 230v I want to know the following: 1) is the TUSCANY POWER SUPPLY only found in Europe with 230volts or there is a TUSCANY version for USA 110v? 2) is the TUSCANY POWER SUPPLY dual voltage? 110v and 230v ? 2) my power supply (pictures below) ... I have no clue if it is 110v or 230v, does anyone know? 3) if my power supply is a UK power supply for 1.6 revision of OGXbox motherboard, can it work also on a USA 1.6 motherboard? 4) my power supply (pictures below) at first looked like untouched, but after looking at some pictures online I have he feeling that 3 capacitors were replaced. because from the pictures i saw, from factory, they place a red dot on top of the capacitor, but mine has no dots( I have marked the 3 caps in circles, i believe were replaced and provided what they used as replacement, does anyone know the UF and voltage of the original caps?)
  6. Dear All, I own an StarTech IDE to Sata adapter, and I have a 3.5 HDD on my OG XBOX, however owing to the Power Cable this adapter won't fit on the HDD Case, how did you fix this issue? Thanks
  7. After over 2 decades of loyal service, and over 9 years of uptime, My first modded xbox's HDD finally bit the dust. Super sad to loose all the save data, and the treasure trove of Homebrew/Emulation, but I am actively working on recovering what I can. There is a chance that the drive hasn't totally failed yet, although that is an exceedingly slim chance. (The wiper and platter sound like Neil Peart) The Xbox does boot into evox, although it has the stability of a Jenga tower stacked on one brick. I've read that aside from chimp, and ftp, some people have had success with block by block recovery methods. Has anyone tried gddrescue? (bash) I do have a backup of the eeprom.bin, and its entirely possible that my usb dock isn't playing nice with the drive. So I'm about to try one of my IDE PCI cards, or one of my legacy systems with onboard IDE. Just dont want to waste time installing windows if I don't have to (I'm allergic to telemetry)
  8. Having trouble with the account validation button on OGXbox.com?
  9. Hi,Im building a Rework station with arduino mega2560 + ramps 1.4 using marlin firmware. I have a problem, i want to use PS3 Controller to control stepper motors and i don't find anywhere how to use PS3 controller with marlin firmware, i only found about lcd + encoder, but i really want to try PS3 controller to control the x,y-axis. Does anyone have experience with this?
  10. Hi there, I've bought a crystal OG Xbox (which is in amazing condition), but unfortunately it won't launch any games or apps that stored on its hdd. It has got what looks like an Xecuter 2.6 or 2.6CE modchip. The console launches into UnleashX on either bank, with Xecuter 2.6 However, it won't launch any of the games which have been copied to the HDD. A splash screens appears (Xbox logo + game title), goes fuzzy momentarily, the same splash screen appears off-centre, and it returns to the Unleash menu The box won't run discs (official games, or Ogxbox installer discs) when in unleashx Won't launch official discs from msdash when chip is disabled Won't run most applications from Unleashx and also returns to the main Unleashx menu after (though it will run some bios apps, XCAT etc.) All the above turn the power LED on the Xbox red So, what to do, please? Do I need to reflash the modchip (after backing up the EEPROM)? Would flashing Cerbios, using Xblast, via FTP be best? Or could something else be the cause? And/or do I need to replace the DVD drive? I have been running XCAT on it today, maybe there will be something interesting on it. Many thanks!
  11. Original Xbox - TSOP with Cerbios. 2TB WD drive - includes 875 Xbox games + Ninja Massive emulator pack with ROMs. 1 controller included. 1 HDMI adapter included. Consoles recapped, fresh MX4 thermal paste applied. DVD drive works! I have 2 currently available. Consoles are currently set to NTSC for the higher definition output. If your plan is to be old skool and play on a classic PAL TV, just let me know and I'll switch it to PAL for you. Enigmah is in the applications folder that does this for you so can easily be switched in future. £200 Collection from Ipswich, Suffolk, or tracked postage available anywhere in the UK.
  12. Yesterday I installed the OpenXenium modchip from one Xbox to another (both 1.6 revs). I had to disconnect the LPC rebuild PCB, which was kind of a nightmare, but it worked. After installing it, the Xbox booted with modchip connected. But didnt't start without it. Which I thought was weird. So I tried reflowing a couple of the connection with no luck, instead the Xbox wouldn't boot with or without the modchip connected. I decided to remove the LPC rebuild PCB and restore the LPC by handwiring it. Now the Xbox does boot without the modchip connected to the LPC port, but with the modchip installed it doesn't. The green power LED turns on for approx 1 second. And on the OpenXenium a RED led. I have already ordered a new LPC rebuild PCB. Hope anyone over here knows how to solve this. I already meassured al of the pins on the LPC port with a multimeter and all expected voltages are present. I have bridges the two pads on the OpenXenium which are neccesary for a 1.6 rev.
  13. PrometheOS has been real inconsistent for me. Xbox is 1.0 I recently installed a RP Zero (Waveshare) ModXo built/bought from ModzvilleUSA I have soldered D0 to the via. I have tried the following combo of .uf2s Prom 1.4 alone - I can boot to this about 30% of the time. Higher success rate if I hold down eject (like Cerbios safe mode) Prom 1.5 alone - this is maybe 10% successful. Buttons do not seem to matter Prom 1.4 + Modxo uf2 - About 30% again Prom 1.5 + Modxo uf2 - About 10% again. Prom 1.4 + Modxo uf2 > Upgrading to 1.5 via .bin file on HDD - couldnt get it to boot after upgrade I also have switched up the order that I load the Modxo and Prom firmwares when trying both. Every firmware is the RP Zero version. I always do the nuke-flash.uf2 before trying a different firmware. I'm under the impression that this should boot into PrometheOS 100% of the time, is this correct? I wondering if it is an issue with the Zero, I cannot get it to consistently connect to my PC either. Any help yall can provide would be greatly appreciated.
  14. I have been watching YouTube, and I came across this video, and this guy thinks that Microsoft is over their head with Xbox.
  15. Title is weird I know. Let me explain. Got an Xbox with faulty HDD. Installed OpenXenium chip (D0 on MB to D0 on chip) with PrometheOS 1.5.0. Installed 120GB SSD drive with a SATA/PATA adapter. Formatted HDD in PrometheOS. Copied evox dashboard and XBlast onto the console. Can boot into dashboard This is where I wanted to use XBlast to see if TSOP is writeable - but without writing to it. I know it doesn't matter with the stock BIOS. This is more a thing about trying random stuff for the fun of it. I get the "No valid Flash device Detected!!!" and I immediately thinks its because the modchip is active and hides it. Am I correct in that assumption? So my strategy now is to copy stock files over FTP from the TruHeXEn 2021 StockFiles/FactoryC and E, and pull off the modchip. This way the system should function EXACTLY like an unmodified XBox (only difference is the SATA SSD) Booting works just fine. I can even play games. So it IS in fact a stock XBox right now running a stock BIOS and the stock Dashboard (I assume. I didn't put it on the HeXen image) from a locked hard drive. Ok, so to read the TSOP info I need to be able to run XBlast. This requires a modded system. So I run the Endgame exploit from a USB drive. It goes all the way without problems. But when rebooting the final time, it just reboots to black. The flubber animation is there, but it's black afterwards. If I reconnect the modchip and check the contents of the hard drive it looks like the exploit has placed all the files it should. Am I trying something that is not supposed to work? The only things different from a completely stock system is: 1. The SATA SSD with adapter and 80 pin cable 2. The two solder bridges to enable TSOP writing 3. A wire soldered to D0 going to a disconnected modchip
  16. I removed the arcade source button ages ago because I didn't need it at the time since I consolidated into just a simple Apps and Games source. How do I go about adding the Arcade source button again to place Coinops 8 inside of that? I tried adding source but it looks like it's just missing and I can't remember for the life of me what I did to even remove well over a year ago now.
  17. Hello, Im sorry if this has been posted before. I already have the complete library of Xbox og isos and it’s taking up a ton of space. I came across a modsville video where he showcases the repackinator tool, as well as the list of CCI approved games made by Dempsey_86. I’m just a little hesitant to do exactly as Modzville did because the video is a year old, so I’m wondering if methods have improved. Also, he seemed to be kind of new to the repackinator tool at the time so I’m wondering if the options he selected are the correct ones. I apologize for the redundant questions and I promise I have tried to look up everything Im asking. Which I have found bits and pieces of answers across multiple sources. I would just like a straightforward tried and tested “how to” if possible. So here are my questions and thank you for your time in answering if possible. Does CCI format work with PrometheOS with 1 to 1 results? -Im currently trying to install the rp2040 mod chip by modxo and modzville. What options must I select exactly to ensure I get 100% playability? Such as splitting isos, trimming, etc. Some games on the list are not working in CCI format so what options should I select or turn off for them? There are ISO’s on the list that must be installed as “HDD Ready” are the redumps I have, already in that format? Lastly, with so many ISO’s, the repackinator tool being able to process an entire folder at once is very efficient and time saving. Is everything possible through that tool? Thank you all again and I also apologize again for the newb-like questions. I just want to know how to get my library up and running… So, by all means post links and step by step lists if possible!
  18. Hello, guys! I just have a quick inquiry regarding loading into a retail kernel for a modded Xbox separately from loading Cerbios. I assume it's flashed onto bios options somehow? I'm using an Open Xenium mod chip on all the systems work with; and I have a premade 1tb SSD I've been cloning my Team Resurgent dashboard, games, emulators, etc for quite a while now. I had a customer reach out who was wanting to use Insignia for live service and one of the steps requires loading into the retail kernel to log in to Xbox live again. I personally never use the retail kernel with my mods anyhow so I don't know hot to make the system able to load into the retail kernel. Any help would be greatly appreciated, or possibly a way to circumvent needing to use the retail kernel for Insignia maybe?
  19. I keep reading that it's mandatory to switch to an 80-wire cable with these adapters, because otherwise the Xbox IDE controller would negotiate a higher UDMA mode with the adapter and this would fail at boot. But at the same time, the usual word seems to be that the stock Xbox BIOS is limited to UDMA2 and you need things like Cerbios to be able to use higher UDMA modes. Given that they shipped the console with a 40-wire cable, it would make sense to cap at UDMA2. UDMA2 can of course run on 40-wire cables, so those two statements would appear mutually exclusive, which nobody really seems to notice. The only way I could make sense of that is if the adapters were only ever tested with 80-wire cables or if they would fail to negotiate down to UDMA-2, if being on a 40-wire cable. I've looked up the Marvell 88SA8052 spec sheet and while it's not exactly detailed, it's saying that besides UDMA "up to 150 MB/s", it's supporting PIO as well, and that certainly does not need a 80-wire cable. That would suggest that in theory, the chip should be able to negotiate UDMA-2 and work with the stock cable just fine. Did anyone ever get the Startech adapter to work with the 40-wire cable?
  20. hi yall, so i have a v1.1 that will boot into my open xenium menu no issue and xblast with my 128 ram upgrade and xblast shows all chips successful. but will not boot any other bios. I removed ram chip 3 and now boots into all bioses i throw at it. I tried 4 other ram chips that i know work and still wont boot into anything other than my ox menu and xblast. I went over mb with a fine tooth comb no tace damage, i have replaced every capacitor on the motherboard and still wil not boot a bios other than xblast with chip 3 soldered on but still shows successful in xblast ram test. any ideas?
  21. My HDD on my main xbox is an old IDE from 2004 so I decided it was time for an upgrade to modern SATA WD Drive. Only problem is that it now doesn't fit in my case, despite it being large, due to the NES microcontrollers. I'm pretty sure that if I use this adaptor that I can get everything to fit in the case as I'm no longer extending the length of the HDD with my usual goto adaptor. I've tried googling around but everything I see mentions doing some sort of TSOP flash. Is there a way to skip the DVD check without doing a TSOP flash?
  22. i bought this xbox v1.6. it has a problem of turning on for few minutes than turns off, after that it keeps turning on for 2 seconds and than off. i opened up the xbox and immediately saw that the power supply was already worked on and whoever did it, did a very ugly job. the power supply is Delta DPSN-96DP. As seen in picture 1 the big capacitor was changed to 400v solder with wires just lying there, the glue was supposed to hold it but it was only stuck on the capacitor and not on the metal and plastic. the below 2 green caps were changed to with higher voltage. both the big and green caps were old used caps. i changed few caps. in picture 2 the caps marked green are what i changed with new and correct caps. the resistor marked red were changed or something else because their underside show sign of different solder than the original ones on board. are these resistors right? in picture 3 the glue on left looks cut off, is there supposed to be different component here or the one here is right? in picture 4 the area circled red, are these capacitors or resistor? they were either changed or lifted than put back with ugly fat soldering. anyway are these right? lastly the mainboard picture these 5 capacitor under cpu/gpu value is 3300uf 16v while online search says its 3300uf 6.3v, are they replaced too? my problem is xbox turning off after few minutes. i tested 500gb desktop hdd, 1tb laptop hdd and without hdd. 500gb desktop hdd turns on for few minutes than off by itself, after that it turns on for 2 seconds and off. have to give it rest for hours to turn it on again for few minutes and than turns off by itself again. 1tb laptop hdd takes very few tries and most of time with first try it turns on and off by itself but stays on for more minutes the 500gb desktop hdd. without hdd always turns on first try and stays on for 10-20 minutes and off by itself. So its just power supply or the main board caps problem too.
  23. I bought an Xbox from an excellent technician — a PAL Xbox with a hardmod, Cerbios BIOS, XBMC, SATA adapter, and a 500GB HDD. I uploaded 4 games via FTP. Two of them work perfectly, while two result in a black screen. All these files run perfectly on another Xbox with an EvoX BIOS from the same technician and an IDE hard drive. The problematic games are Thief: Deadly Shadows (2.5 GB) and Curse: The Eye of Isis (500 MB). They appear in the regular XBMC menu and in dvd2xbox. These are PAL versions, and I’ve tried launching them in PAL, PAL-60, and NTSC modes — always a black screen. I’ve re-uploaded the games several times, re-extracted the files, ensured the file names are short and without special characters, and FileZilla confirms that everything is successfully transferred. The games are placed in the F folder alongside other games preinstalled on the Xbox. I’ve also tried changing the UDMA speed — nothing works. What could be causing this issue, and what can I do to resolve it? Thank you!
  24. Hey guys. I’m making another console for someone that wants all emulators and Roms. I don’t much with Emustation and Roms these days so I’m obviously a little out of the loop. The scanner recognized the games however, they are an absolute mess in the games list and unfortunately don’t even work. I’ve tried putting all files into one folder named after the .cue file, but that just reboots Emustation as well. How in the world do you get this game list organized and rid the list of many multiple files?
