  1. Hello. I modded my softmodded xbox 1.0 with analog2hdmi. But it displays strange color with no sound. I couldnt select digital out on xbmc. I checked soldering. Is this mod compatible with softmodded xbox?
  2. Hello everyone, I have a !.0 MOBO that I have recently installed Project stellar on along with the HD+ kit from MakeMhz. I had the ribbon cable to the video encoder professionally soldered on but the rest of the install I was able to complete myself. once i reassembled the unit I was able to get it to post with only the mod chip with no DVD or HDD drive but I had no audio only the splash screen. I then completely reassembled to see if it was an issue with no hard drive (shouldn't be i thought to myself) so unsurprisingly it still had no audio (but the picture is OUTSTANDING). anyway I took everything apart to check my work and now seem to have narrowed down the sound issue to hopefully a bad wire included in the kit or a setting issue on the MS DASH feel free to let me know your thoughts on the audio issue as well. BUT when going to try the MS DASH first i reassembled and now the mod chip itself (project stellar) wont boot idk if the xbox is bricked now or what, I seem to get power to the chip as seen by the little green indicator light on the bottom of the chip but the tiny screen does not display anything not even an error code. So I reconnected the chip to my PC and found that the screen itself does in fact work it displays "PC Mode" so I know the screen didn't die and all of the firmware and bios seem to be on the chip and website tells me that the chip is ready for install now. I figure I should get the chip working first before I can do anymore diagnosing on this thing. At this point I am lost. I'm just trying to make a good birthday present for my little brother. please any help is appreciated TIA!
  3. I've installed MakeMHz HD+ to a 1.0 motherboard. Picture looks great, but I'm not getting any sound. The HD+ accesses SPDIF directly from the AV port, so this isn't a ribbon cable issue. The SPDIF pad has continuity with the chip on the HD+ board. The trace isn't broken on the motherboard. Any ideas?
  4. It was booting OK before I removed the 3 old capacitors near the CPU/Power connector, also the clock battery. I replaced the 3 capacitors and now get this issue (see attached video with sound stutter at the end). I have removed/replaced all 3 capacitors again, also tried mounting them on the underside of the motherboard for testing loose out of case, but get the exact same results, even doing them 1 at a time etc. I have visually checked the board front and back for solder splashes, trace rot and other abnormalities with magnifying glass, everything looks great! I have had this issue on a previous Xbox and identified the issue to possible 2 capacitors which I replaced and it has worked fine for months after replacing. So, this issue still does seem to be capacitor related but I've done what I can to try and fix, and would like to know if other people have had this boot issue and what it was that fixed the issue? Thanks 1.2_1.3 Boot Hang + Sound Stutter.avi
  5. Hi all, bit of a story here. I got an HDMI kit for my xbox recently, dug out the old girl and it worked great...except the display was going black for a second or more during games. Not crashing, just briefly losing sound and video. It was doing this on component as well, which was why I stopped using it in the first place. I assumed my component-HDMI adapter was faulty. I was sure it wasn't related to the HDMI kit, so I decided to mess with different video modes (with enigmah and the settings in evox) I now get no sound at all in games...except Beyond Good and Evil. Dashboard (ie XBMC also has UI sound). The problem also happens with legit PAL discs. The system region is PAL-60. I recently updated to Rocky5 using the extras ISO which comes with the softmod kit, so I'm as confident as I could be that the softmod isn't the issue either. Can anyone help please?
  6. I have a 1.0 Xbox. It’s really close to the 1.1 change over but pretty sure it’s a 1.0. It was starting up fans and drives originally but still FRAGing. I tuned up the disc drive and I can tell the HDD sounds like it’s not running well, but still no boot at all. I could at least tell that the clock Cap had leaked so I decided to pull that. I got it out nice and clean and cleaned up the area around it but it didn’t look bad. No corrosion on front or back really. I reassembled for testing and now I’m getting the same FRAG but with no boot sounds. No disk spinning, no fans, nothing except the FRAG light. All I did was take out the clock Cap. Thinking about doing a full Cap replace on the board and PSU. Any other advice or things to test first?
  7. I've installed MakeMHz HD+ to a 1.0 motherboard. Picture looks great, but I'm not getting any sound. The HD+ accesses SPDIF directly from the AV port, so this isn't a ribbon cable issue. 8. Hello, i got a new xbox, and i had a few issues with it just to establish some info: it's been staying in my appartment for about 2 years without even plugging it in, idk how much it stayed at the seller's place The sticker on the bottom (where the screws are) has not yet been broken The xbox uses the philips dvd drive It's from europe (PAL) So, it has been emmiting this quite high pitched sound constantly, it's not very loud but it still gives me headaches Also my custom CDs don't seem to work on it (xbox can't recognize disc), however i tried a few more official-ish discs and they worked Any tips?
  9. Hi, i have xbox 1.0 and i have a problem with it. When I turn on, I do not have a signal video and audio to the green LED, it blinks 3 times, then it lights constantly. When I connect the alladdin, the video is sometimes broken, the green LED lights up in the thread. (how was the work, normal work) However, it was from sound, it does not give a video and so every now and then (picture as it is white) The cable component is working. What is your problem? Any ideas please.
  10. this happened when I just open the disc tray from the Xbox to remove the disc to provide sound for the Xbox. I did this because it was taking too long to load up again. Here's the vid: (Start at 21:00 to save time)

  12. my xbox is making a high pitch whining sound at times and it is very annoying. i don't know which moving part(dvd, hdd, or fan) is making the noise nor do i know how to fix it. anyone know?
  13. Hi everyone I've found that one of my old xbox is not working anymore when i try to boot it is making a weird sound and goes off, anyone know what could be the problem? maybe a power supply issue? The xbox should be a 1.1 with softmod not sure as was in a box for years I leave a video attached of the problem Thanks xbox_mpeg4_mpeg4.avi
  14. Hello new to the Xbox modding scene I picked up a hard modded xbox and everything works great except for sound and I can’t figure out why... I have tried different cables and different tv’s still no luck Don’t know to much about chips and what it has to be honest I’m still learning lol
  15. I have a 1.0 xbox that was working perfectly up until the sound output quit. I have tried different cables, different TVs but...nothing. I'm thinking hardware issue...does anybody have suggestions for where on the motherboard I should start looking? Thanks.
  16. So, I FTPed Just Cause to my Xbox a while back, and I get audio during the main menu upon bootup, and audio during the first cutscene, but as soon as gameplay starts, the audio stops working. It's not my A/V cables because I know they're all the way in, otherwise the sound wouldn't play, nor is it the settings in-game. Any ideas on what could be causing this sound glitch? I should add, it's only Just Cause that has this issue, not my other games.
