My experience with the original xbox goes back to early after launch. My first one died a horrible death after many stuggles with the xenium ice modchip Looking back I'm sure I was more at fault than the chip. My second one (softmodded) is in the living room hooked up to a hdtv. My third one (softmodded) is hooked up to a sony tube tv and my forth is sitting across the room on a table awaiting the next mod project .I'm glad i found this place because you guys are an invaluable source of knowlege. thanks and best wishes.

Hi, I am new to the community and new to the XBOX mod scene in general. Never had Xbox's for some reason... Nintendo's, PlayStation, Sega's but never Xbox. Anyway, came across an Original Xbox and an Xbox 360 for free, and fixed them up. Just softmodded the xbox & looking for some things to do with it. Thanks, Jeremy

Hello, New to the site. Have 3 original Xbox consoles, one working DVD/CD drive. Want to attempt Softmodding one of the non-working DVD/CD consoles. Still enjoy the old games. Intend to upgrade the hard drive as well to be able to store games on rather than have to place in dvd/cd drive.

Hi all, just found this site and looks like a good resource for original Xbox modding. I started modding Xboxes way back not long after they first came out. I had an original V1.0 box with an Xecuter X3 chip, which I was stupid and eventually sold. I'm back in the game now with another X3 modded box and another one I'm soft modding and going to do a TSOP flash. Looks like some good resources here.

Hello! I started out driving an hour each way to have some guy mod my original xbox back in the day. I gave that guy so much business just showing off to friends. Soon as softmodding became a thing I started doing that myself realizing that the original guy was somewhat of a twit. I had not played an og system in some time and was delighfully shocked to find an awesome community alive and ticking. Great time to get back into it!

Hi, What's the best softmod to use in 2018, I have Need for Speed Carbon and Swat Global Strike Team. I am also able to solder, so setting up a usb port is a possibility. Just want to use the most flexible method, most reliable. Thanks for your infos. M.

Just decided i should get on the forums since i am gathering the required materials to tsop a 1.0 og xbox. i have posted on the facebook page a couple of times. i am an old school gamer that got started with system modding back in about 04 unfortunately not on anything xbox related. Been seeing a lot of xbox related mod stuff lately and i am going to be getting into it as a hobby or for personal interests.

I figured that I would introduce myself here! Recently picked up a Halo Edition xbox and got the modding bug again. Back in the day, I was really into creating new maps for the original Halo to play with others on XBconnect (RIP). Hello everybody I am new here and new with Xbox at all i just get xbox crystall ( belive its 1.5 or 1.6 have no idea how to check it without opening) and i thought that i wana softmoded it (for a start) my colegue said i gona find help here so i try can annybody give me some clues how to check is my xbox 1.5 or 1.6 or 1.6b how to start ( i found that i need a special cable for usb stick and splinter cell game for special save) is that the only one way to soft mod? it so many diferent videos (i am not a lazy i star reading about it seen some video but hope maybe sb here give me a helpfull hand) Thanks.

Hello all, I recently went to the Midwest Gaming Classic in Milwaukee (about ten years in a row now) and FINALLY scooped up an original Xbox with a few games. I quickly upgraded the HDD and here I am with it softmodded and looking at all it can do. I am most interesting in some cool case/appearance based mods too if anyone has suggestions. The case is not perfect, and I really wouldn't even mind just a clean OEM shell...

Hi everybody, first time here in SO long. I've had a modded Xbox since 2003 which I just turned back on after I heard out about the clock capacitor problem. Mine was ok (I was able to remove it and clean up alright) but having it back on I've found the hard drive to be quite loud and maybe not running so great. I wanted to replace the hard drive but I'm not sure if my old Chameleon modchip throws a wrench into the tutorials I've been looking at. If possible the method of hotswapping the DVD drive with the new HDD and cloning the original drive seems easiest. Any suggestions before I start fumbling through this are very much appreciated! And I have all the stats on my current setup if needed. Thanks so much for the help!!
