I have a 1.6 with smartxx chip and flashed it with cerbios. Great bios for the fact I can run cci format games.

I might haveto open another topic for this but I wanted to copy a game frokm  my harddrive to my new xbox with the xecuterchip.

I have the whole cci library on my pc and installened on my 2TB drive in the 1.6 Xbox.  But....... I can not find the folder for the chronicles of Riddick escape from butcher bay......

I have searched it on the HDD from teh PC also on the HD from the xbox with filezilla but it is not there. The game shows up in xbmc4gamers but not in the filemanager....

very strange. I noticed when I only enable the foldername in the game view of xbmc4gamers it does not have a name. when I enable game name or both (game and folder) the name is shown under the image of the game.

I want to copy the game but cannot find it.... very odd!!! Maybe it is in a different folder name?

Please create a new topic post in the correct subforum.

That's the TSOP flash memory chip that holds the BIOS.  You have a modchip installed so don't worry about replacing it.  Unless you really feel you must replace it.

Most likely a Hynix HY29F080T-90.  However, take a close-up picture of it and post it in a reply.

Edit: Corrected flash memory chip part number.

Are you looking for modchips or actual eeprom chips?
Every revision Xbox can use any generic 24C02 256b SOIC8 package EEPROM chip.

    :)

    24C02 - 2048b (bit) or 256B (byte) SOIC8 (8-pin) serial EEPROM.

Also Thairanny for his answer on this thread. I did not manage to find it on Pandora though but trying to help me is very much appreciated!

Finding what one is looking for on the Xbins FTP server can be a daunting task.  There are so many files for many different consoles and stored under many different subfolders.

XBOX in this case is the xbins FTP server folder for all things ogXbox related.

For the most part, the subfolders there break down the content as to where it will reside:

    - Console Based Applications for content that will run on the Xbox

    - PC Based Applications for support tools that run on a PC.

There are a few other subfolders for Xbox tools; however, these two contain most of what modders seek.

In Console Based Applications, modified and original Xbox BIOSes are found in the subfolders of the bios folder.

Look in the developer's or BIOS named subfolder for the latest MULTI_VERSION BIOS (at least Xecuter and Evolution-X have a MULTI_VERSION subfolders, not all do).

Make sure you get a BIOS that works on your console version.

There are v1.0-1.4 and v1.6 compatible BIOSes.  And, not all devs released a BIOS that will work on v1.6 consoles.

For a v1.6 console, until recently with the release of CerBIOS, Evox M8plus (256KB BIOS) and Xecuter X2 5035 (512KB BIOS) not suitable to be used with all modchips were your only choices.

NOTE: Aladdin and cheapmod designs only have 1 256KB BIOS bank. Limiting you to EvoX's M8plus_16.bin BIOS.

  5. It is available from Xbins FTP server. Use Team Resurgent's Pandora v1.0.7 Windows application to connect to and download it.

Download the Pandora v1.0.7 release from GitHub - Team-Resurgent/Pandora

You'll find the file at XBOX/Console Based Applications/apps/emulators/x86/dosxbox/dosxbox_v13.zip

Or, download it from this xbins FTP server mirroring web site:

    https://xbxbx.ams1.ppn.prutzel.com/xbins_xbox_mirror/Console Based Applications/apps/emulators/x86/dosxbox/dosxbox_v13.zip

Sure! I am going to read a little more first though.

I came across this post : unfortunately the pictures are vague:

    link

    it says in trhe text:

Now that you've got the basic tools, you just need the bios files.

    1. Hacked Bios - You'll need to get into Xbins to grab these.

    • If you own a v1.0-v1.5 you have tons of different options. I suggest looking around in the bios folder on Xbins.
    • For v1.6 you need EvoX's M8_v1.6 bios.
    • For v1.6b you need EvoX's M8plus_v1.6 bios.

    2. Flashbios - we want this on there in case you want to reflash later with a different bios without having to purchase a programmer. You'll need to grab this off Xbins as well.

I do not know what flashbios is. it is as if it is a bios that makes it possible to flash again...

FlashBIOS is Team Xecuter's MS code free BIOS for their X2 or X3 modchips.  It is used to reflash a modified Xbox BIOS to them so you can do actual Xbox operations - play games.

FlashBIOS may or may not work with other modchips to flash a BIOS to them.  IIRC, FlashBIOS has a very limited list (2) of flash memory chips that it can reflash.

I know this is a very oldtopic but today I got an 1.3 xbox with an xecuter 2.6 lite chip installed. I would like to install cerbios on it with Flashbiosv3.03. Is there a link where I can download it? Or is there a better way to flash the bios?

    Thanks in advance!!

Furthermore, I think this is one of the first Xectuer 3 mod chips because it also contains a very old version of XBMC.

Any idea what I will be able to do?

The X3 BIOS does not contain a replacement dashboard.  If you get it to run an old version of XBMC, it is installed on the hard drive.

Missing F and G partitions is caused by not having the Use Saved Partition Table set to Enabled.

    Hi There,

I just happened to come across an Xbox with an xecuter 3 mod chip with LCD on a second hand website.

Bought this and continues to work.
So now it still has the standard hard drive in it.
I wanted to replace this with a hard drive that is in my other hardmodded Xbox. (This is the well-known Origin 2TB disc)
When I put this in, it does not boot any further and I end up on the X3 modschip screen.

When I FTP to the original hard drive I find it strange that it uses the C D E.
Furthermore, I think this is one of the first Xectuer 3 mod chips because it also contains a very old version of XBMC.

Any idea what I will be able to do?

With the X3 BIOS and a 2TB hard drive, you must Enable the Use Saved Partition Table option in the BIOS's configuration settings.

    X3 Config Live Menu Options

Disk Tools > New Hard Drive Upgrade > Use Save Partition Table = Enabled/Disabled (Press A to toggle the value.)

Press B to back out of the submenu items.

Next, verify that the replacement dashboard's XBE file is in the boot order list to be loaded on startup.

X3 Config Live Main Menu > Customize X3 BIOS > Dashboard Filenames and Dashboard Boot Drive = <Xbox Drive Letter where located>.

IIRC, the X3 BIOS does not look in subfolders for the listed Dashboard Filenames.  It only looks in the set boot drive's top-level/root directory.

I have same issue. 1.6 running xbmc4games. 80 wire on cerbios umda 5 startech adapter and 2tb ssd. Very slow boot time. What is marvel controller?  Any help is appreciated.

The IDE-to-SATA bridge on the Startech adapter is a Marvell 88SA8052 chip.  You should not have slow boot times with the Startech adapter.

    Try a different 80-wire 40-pin high-speed IDE cable.

But at the moment I am just looking for a software tool that can help me re-partition and format my HDD (without disassembling the XBOX), as I have thoroughly effed up my partitions with some wishful thinking a couple of hours ago.

    XBPartitioner v1.3.

What's effed up with the partitions?

Don't do anything other than take a picture of its main screen and post it in a reply.  To exit the app, press Back followed by any button other than Start.

If you're using a BFM, then I don't think things like that can be done, as they are too low-level. You would probably just be using the UDMA mode of the TSOP bios, which would be the MS bios, if softmodded.

@KaosEngineer Could you please confirm that? I would be curious to know what a BFM is capable of doing, and what it is not, definitively. You are familiar with BFMs, so that's why I am summoning you. :)

Correct, the hardware has already been initialized by the stock BIOS, UDMA2.  A BFM BIOS does not do any hardware initialization.  It only replaces the Xbox's kernel/OS that is running from RAM.

Hi guys. I have a Xbox 1.0 with cheapmod (LPC Based SST49LF020) (Bios: Xecuter2 4983.67)

and after i won't turn on the console for 1 or 2 days i always end up with Error 07 HDD Timeout. I tried out with 3 HDDs and i always get the same results. The interesting thing is if i unplug the IDE Cable and plug it back it boots without a problem, but after 1-2 days it's starts to act up.

    Any idea?

Make sure all of the IDE connectors are fully seated in all of the devices: motherboard, DVD drive and hard drive.  Verify that the hard drive is being powered with the correct voltages by the power supply.  With a multimeter, measure the voltage level between the Yellow and black and red and black wires of its Molex power connector.  What values do they read?

Is it an IDE hard drive or a SATA hard drive with an IDE-to-SATA adapter?

What brand and model of hard drives?

Hello guys, i'm back at it again and i'm starting to think this is actually PSU problem.

And that is because i dont have the 5volts on the red wires at stb or anything else on the PSU connector. Only under 0,5v on some of them.

Today i (again) took off the PSU from the xbox and just probed it around transistor/mosfet legs and did not find anything that i understand to be a faulty component.

The big transistor or mosfet type thing on the low voltage side heatsink has outer legs shorted but i dont know if its a problem.

After this probing i put it back to the box and wtf, it powers on again. SO. Im thinking PSU is the problem.

Also when i measure the transistor on the side of the xyclops chip, on the left i have 0.33v and on the chip side legs 0v.

Please, point me to the right direction or im forced to bail out and this thing probably goes to the bin 😒

Don't throw it away.  Someone will be interested in buying it from you for parts.

Is it a v1.6 motherboard and PSU transplanted into a v1.0-1.4 case?  That will short out the transister Q7C2 by the Xyclops chip since there's another mounting support and grounding tab under the motherboard that touches it between the GPU and encoder chip.  A v1.6 case does not have that mounting post/grounding tab present.

If so, the grounding tab  needs to be bent down so it does not touch the motherboard.

Hello, my old xbox console has been having an issue when I plug it in. I think it's the cables that are the issue, where it does show part of the startup but the display is completely black and white. The audio still plays and the xbox is still powered on, and I'm wondering if I need to just throw it out or something.

Don't throw it out. Fix it!

What video output mode is set: NTSC or PAL?

Does your TV set support that mode?

I know when I change my NTSC Xbox to PAL and connect it to my TV set, the screen is scrolling rapidly and the output is in black and white.

Is your Xbox modded?  If so how, soft or hard mod?

Softmodded, which softmod package was used?

Hardmodded, which modchip and BIOS are installed?

Some modchips have button combos that change the video output mode from to PAL or NTSC by pressing them.

Can I get my OG ms dash back after installing xbmc? I get error 13 when I turn my Xbox on without pressing and holding the power button. I have the Aladdin chip and boots up into xbmc fine but I really like my old dash to work aswell. Is it possible? Thanks

Did you install a new larger hard drive - SATA hard drive with an IDE-to-SATA adapter?

If so, did you swap out the stock 40-wire 40-pin IDE cable for a new high-speed 80-wire 40-pin one?

If not, do so to fix error 13.

Is the BT pad on the Aladdin modchip directly connected to ground or does it have a wire running towards the front panel connector to tap off of the power button signal?

If the latter, a short tap of the power button should boot into the stock dashboard.  Modchip disabled.  A long power button press enables the modchip to boot the BIOS stored on it which loads, if installed, a replacement dashboard.  XBMC in your case.

... dude, that is an entire IC soldered to teh board. That's a new one for me. :) I'm not even familiar with what those solder points are!

They are the parallel Address and Data lines that run to the TSOP/OWNmod ROM to load the BIOS into the CPU to run the machine language code stored on the chip.

Hi to everyone. I have my original Xbox since when i was a kid and i remember of having it modified after some time. Some years ago i have removed the clock capacitor to preserve it, but recently i decided to change the hard drive and i discovered that i have several other bulged capacitors. For this reason, i want to recap the whole motherboard but then i discovered that the modchip is glued right under some of these leaking cap. From what i understand this is a very old modchip since it is soldered to a lot of points under the motherboard. What modchip could be ? It has also a switch to turn it off and booting strainght into the original dashboard.

I was thinking of removing it to install a better modichip or to do a TSOP flashing. Do you think that i can remove it safely ? Before removing it, is it possible to use it to do a softmod or it is necessary to use a savegame exploit ? Otherwise what modichip could be a suitable choice ? I was interested in the OpenXenium project but these boards are pretty expensive here in Europe. The board should be a 1.4 revision since it has the Focus video chip.

    Thanks for all the Help.

    modchip.jpg

That's a old so called 29-wire, more than 29 connections to the motherboard, OWNMod design.  There are more than 29 wires - 32 I believe.  But 29 are signal lines, address and data bus, the others are power and ground.

It uses a 256KB EPROM or FlashROM to hold a modified Xbox BIOS.

    See: https://web.archive.org/web/20151009063717/http://www.xbox-scene.com/modchips/ownmod_diagrams.html

    Edit:

It can easily be removed if you have experience soldering.  Desolder all 29+ wires that connect to pads on the motherboard.  I would leave all of the wires soldered to the EPROM/FlashROM..

Edit: Where do the wires from the switch connect to?

Hi, good morning. I have a PAL Xbox and I noticed that XBMC4Gamers is always running un 5pHz mode regardless the PAL-60 setting on the MS Dashboard, and in the options I have not found anything related.

Is it possible to set XBMC4Gamers to PAL-60? I mean the dashboard itself, not the games.

    Thanks,

    How's your console modded?

If softmodded with Rocky5's Xbox Softmodding Tool, Rocky5 released a new version v1.2.0 that mentions fixing a PAL-60 issue.

Doiwnload, extract and upload the Installer Variants / Quick Update.zip from the Build 1.2.0 pre-built repository.  Then run it to update to the latest softmod release.

So you're saying you basically rebuilt the whole PCB?

@KaosEngineerAfter looking more closely, I see that this is not the SAME exact adapter.

    https://i.postimg.cc/BZCp1fRL/17051263863151292668913809702721.jpg

It does still look like a simple PLCC32-to-DIP32 adapter.  Nothing fancy or special about it.

Edit: However, as @Bgsmods59mentions, he had problems with his adapter like the OP's.  There may be some bad solder connections between the PLCC32 socket and the adapter PCB.

  21. 2 hours ago, Bowlsnapper said:

I received one of these adapters with my XGecu, so I would say so, yes.

Ok, I don't have an XGecu programmer.  I was not sure which PLCC32-DIP adapter they provide/use.

  22. Hmm, did you buy the adapter from XGecu with the programmer or later from somewhere else.  I don't know if XGecu's adapter is a simple PLCC32 to DIP32 adapter.

From the programming software screenshot, it looks like it is.
