    I disabled it.

So I can get an img to load for the Folder only by putting folder.jpg inside it.

No img available and xMugen are the custom folders inside the homebrew section. Soon as I move off my custom folders to the right I'm presented with your default Missing Artwork img as if it unloads.

  2. Tried to solder the pads for a 1.4 and ended up removing a solder pad. When I try flash it just gets stuck at erasing the 0 percent shows. My solder skills aren't the greatest so I'm not surprised. I've since got some conductive paint/glue and tsop flashed a 1.1 successfully. Is there any other way I can manage to tsop flash this Xbox even though the pads gone?

  3. So I want to add some LEDs now to my Xbox. I don't have an understanding standing yet of electrical currents and voltages and resistors it'll be something I pick up as I understand but if someome could point me in the right direction or give me we ideas on the things I might need?

I'm curious to how many LEDs I could run or how to figure that out.

  4. Over the past week I've picked up 5 1.1 consoles with a 1mb tsop bank. What BIOS would you recommend me using for the 1mb chip and method to flash it via the HDD.

Note: I don't have a way to burn a disc with something like hexen so far so I'd be flashing via the HDD.

    Hi Viggen66

Thank for the clue about the fan speed in coinops Ninja

I found the delaut setting was 65c which would reduce the fan speed to 2%

To save everyone trolling looking the setting I changed was in the guisetting.xml file

    <targettemperature>50</targettemperature>

    Cheers

Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.

What would coin-ops version would you recommend me to get for the biggest and best collection.

Which brand and model 2.5" hard drive?  Is it IDE or SATA?  If SATA which IDE-to-SATA adapter are you using?

If you don't use a Molex power splitter, how are you powering the IDE-to-SATA adapter if a SATA hard drive and/or the hard drive itself?

Fixed it got it working now I'm just wondering if a 15,000rpm HDD would work in the xbox

  7. On one of my xboxs the molex coord doesn't power up HDD's

I've been able to get the Xbox running by powering the HDD by using the molex connector from another Xbox to power up the HDD.

Any idea on how to fix this?

  8. Trying to upgrade my HDD to 1TB on a 1.4 soft modded Xbox. The 1TB drive is 2.5" when I clone the drive with chimp should I plug in the molex splitter to power the adapter or can I simply just use he adapter without a y molex splitter.

Just tried to clone with chimp without the y molex splitter and said couldn't lock the hdd

    Revision 1.6

I have another Revision 1.6 Xbox that's working with a nulled HDD now. Picked it up yesterday along with a 1.4

    Yep

You need the flash enable links on the board the put the bios your planning on using at C:/bios via ftp

FTP the Xblast as well if need be the C drive.

You then boot and then run Xblast then settings, flash menu,HDD Flash.

    Cheers

  11. Recently had a hard drive fail on me but i did null the hdd key before it failed. Just purchased a new sata drive but im having 0 luck figuring out how to obtain a nulled eeprom.bin or make one myself. If anyone could help would be greatly appreciated

Where I shocked myself was touching the underside of the board opposite side to th AC power plug.

Where the TSOP location is seems to be some conductive paint or something that little black splotch.

Thought I'd get some clearer pics and more information for you guys. Thanks for all the help so far.

Waiting on a multimeter ATM to Futher inspect.

  13. Reassembled and plugged in the AC power coord there's no lights on or flashing, no HDD spin up sound. The motherboard looked pretty clean and don't see any evidence of trace corrosion so probably a fucked power supply?

Yes you have a version 1.1.

So the Xbox is dead no light or hard drive noise and the fan not working ?

From the picks I would say it was soft modded.

    Cheers

    SS Dave

Those that can Hard-Mod. Those that can't Soft-Mod.

Reassembling at the moment. Plugged in my power cord to psu detached from everything else and touched the opposite end of the board and gave myself a nice shock. Lol

Yes before dissembling no lights, no HDD spin up sound. I'll see what happens after reassembling.

My IDE cable seems slightly damaged.

All working fine until I turned it off after a softmod upgrade.
