  1. Hopefully they drop the update soon! My son has a 1.6 in his room and wants the Nyan Cat boot intro lol.
  2. Hell yeah! I'm glad you're in!!! There are known issues for friends, but i can't recall the details. If I see anything I will let you know. @Natetronndid a really good explanation of what is needed. If it is not here, I know he posted it on their discord server. If I find it later I will share the link! Edit: what bios are you using?
  3. It looks like another round went out this morning. Hopefully yours is there!! https://twitter.com/Insignia_Live/status/1592869396770586624?t=ztWitLu11eRsyGEGX55J3A&s=19
  4. Got a code and successfully registered on my main! Going to go play a few rounds of CoD before work!
  5. Can you access the games on the new HDD with file explorer?
  6. There has never been a UDMA 4 version of Cerbios released. In release 2.0.2 you could choose from Debug UDMA 5, Debug, Retail UDMA 5, and Retail. The non-UDMA patched binaries of Cerbios default to the system default UDMA 2. Do you know what revision of Cerbios you started on? Interesting that you received an error 07. That is a "Harddrive never left busy state" error that is normally caused bad a bad connection to the drive (or low quality IDE to SATA, but StarTech is good). Did you happen to try any investigation of the connection before changing to your old HDD? What version of Cerbios are you on now, 2.0.2 Retail UDMA 5 or 2.0.3R UDMA 5?
  7. Wait, am I understanding this correctly? You were still using your old bios, placed a new (unformated) HDD in your xbox, and then tried to boot to a flash disk? When you say m8 booted the disk, was m8 your existing bios before Cerbios? What error did you receive when the boot failed? Did you ever get the Cerbios dogs logo to show at boot? While not automated, you should be able to find solutions to most of your patching needs. Details are helpful if you run into issues patching anything in particular. Then we may be able to assist with specific fixes.
  8. What is your drive check setting in your ini file? I have put swapped quite a few drives at this point (SATA, IDE, and virtual Xemu) around in Cerbios environments and have not had issues. What was your partition table set to before the change? Also, use US games. Almost all of them are native 480p which negates the need for bios level force 480p. That is why Repackinator is based on the US game set.
  9. Yeah, I have calipers already and only really need the dementions of the post holes and can then remix one of the free files already out there. I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel lol. Yes to the adapter on the molex. Technically this kit is designed to relocate your HDD over the mobo to allow fans to be installed over the PSU. Thats cool and all, but 32tb of storage is cooler. (It may, in fact, be hotter once im done ) If you run the entire unique library of around 1045 games as full ~7gb as full ISO you need a 8-10tb HDD just to hold the OX library. I personally have another 1.2tb of retro roms and emulators in my build. I plan to use the rest of the space as onsite backup for my media server. All my important stuff has a cloud backup, but I can't justify payimg to stire ~5tb of movies and music. I haven't been able to justify purchasing another large storage solution recently and this will be a great option. I have seen others share ffmpeg downscaling solutions that they claim have worked but haven't tried any myself yet.
  10. I picked this one up from Nemisis when I got my last XeniumICE package from him. I haven't asked him yet if he would share the file for the caddy after purchase. I'm probably going to spend some time with Blender and some calipers if he doesn't want to share . It also came with an adapter for the DVD drive plug to fix the eject issue on non-Cerbios no-dvd fixes. I don't regret the purchase.
  11. Active but not fully supported yet. The devs are still pretty tight lipped on how it works still. Hoping they release info once the next fatxplorer beta releases with dual HDD tools. I already have a dual HDD caddy ready for when they release the info
  12. If it is a new HDD, boot to Cerb 2.0.2r and try to connect.
  13. There have been quite a few "retro re-shell" projects that I have seen crowd funded in the last year. Have you ever considered trying that route? I know I would back for high quality molded cases. I mean, the going rate for a OEM blue shell is like $400-$500 right now so I assume there is a market for good replicas.
  14. old HDDs at high speed. That Maxtor drive noise was noticeable from inside an entertainment cabinet, across the room... the fan is bad enough IMO lol.
  15. This should work. 24" 40-Pin 80-Wire Ultra ATA 2-Drive Ribbon Cable, Manhattan 332781 https://a.co/d/1Xaa6Ne
  16. And loud as a motherfucker too lol
  17. Strange... Maybe there is a slight difference in config between the two you aren't noticing? I have a replacement PSU arriving Tuesday for my next build. I will see if I can replicate what you are saying.
  18. You need a UDMA5 compatible IDE drive and a 80 wire cable but it will work just fine.
  19. Is the MS dash the same on both drives?
  20. I HIGHLY recommend fatxplorer BETA if you are going Cerbios. It technically is not required, but it has pre-made Cerbios configuration for 2tb+ builds.
  21. That's what I thought. The running theory is 2.0.3R blocks MACS for some reason. Once the machine account has been built everything is good. The machine account resides in the config area of the HDD from address 0x0000000 to 0x00080000. Assuming this therory is correct, anytime you put a new HDD in you need to run MACS to connect to Insignia initially. https://xboxdevwiki.net/Xbox_Live/Connection_Test The suggestion from the Cerbios discord currently is revert to 2.0.2R retail -> connect to Insignia -> back to 2.0.3R.
  22. Someone smarter than I needs to verify, but I'm pretty sure this is your issue...
