1.6 board no power

I have fixed a whole lot of OG Xboxes, but I have finally run into one that has me stumped. The unit didn't turn on at all when I got it and had never been worked on. After I opened it up I saw the usual 5 3300uF caps were pretty bad, so I promptly replaced them, but the unit still doesn't power on at all. I checked the PSU, tests OK and I tried a known good one just in case, still no difference. Tried a spare front button board as well, still no difference. I plugged in a good 1.6 board to check a few random components that get voltage while the console is off. The dead board got no voltage whatsoever on the same components, so I think it is some sort of a power issue. Any suggestions?

There is a small smd transistor need the clock cap that fails.

Thanks, I did see that being reported by a bunch of people, but I doubt this is the problem. Seems like this issue is normally caused by people putting motherboards in an incompatible shell, which isn't the case here. Also, in my case nothing on the board gets any voltage.
I poked around a bit more with another 1.6 board side by side to compare values on a bunch of components. So far I seem to have found a short at C2F1, a tiny cap right next to the power caps and PSU connector, so I assume it may have gotten fried. I'll try replacing it. In the meantime I used the board from a parts system to fix the console.

That transistor can fail for no apparent reason and I have had 1.6 supply's that if that transistor is not working the PSU shuts down completely.

Check the 5 volt standby supply while you are connecting the mains to the Xbox, Have the Xbox unplugged for about 5 minutes and in that time connect your test leads to the standby power and ground  then connect the mains.

Also is the clock cap still in the board? you could try butting another cap across the clock cap as a test.
