  1. Tried to turn my Xbox on, it attempted to start 2 times and stayed on the 3rd with blinking orange/green lights at the same time (half orange, half green) and no A/V output. It is a 1.1 and I have removed the clock cap and jumped some trace rot that was causing it to turn on whenever it was plugged it, but the flashing and lack of A/V out persists. I have a reddit thread that has video of the error lights and shots of the main board and power board before clock cap and trace repairs. I am stumped. I cannot find that error anywhere and I don't have much experience diagnosing Xbox problems. Any help would be great.
  2. Hi, does anyone know which kind of modchip is this ? also we've lost external switch from the move ... thank for your help!
  3. I don't exactly know what I did. I just tested a PS2 joypad adapter which worked for a little while, then the console just turned off by itself, receiving no power as I tried to repeatedly turn it on to no avail. I opened it, dusted it off and tried to turn it on with both disc drives removed and un-connected (just to watch what was happening inside): the console turned on but for just a moment, the little fan started spinning but for just a second, I repeated that many times until a tiny little "something" nearby the 1st controller port started going on fire and blown. I dusted that off too (it literally melted, turned to dust in my fingers), tried to turn it on and it worked so I reconnected the drives and it works like before but I wonder: what was that and why that happened after I tried to use the PS2 joypad adapter? Now the console works, but I notice from beyond the plastic "grates" of the side there's a red led on the motherboard. Did I remove an obstacle to the correct functioning (a material bug or something) or did I accidentally removed a crucial part of the motherboard (like a chip, a transistor, etc... sorry for my ignorance I just noticed it when it was on fire for a second, something like extremely little smoking up then nothing)? I also checked the temp after a 2 minutes gameplay it went from 70 to 90 then it stayed stable... what should I do to prevent further damage?
  4. Hello, I recently bought a used OG that was modified by its pervious owner. It appears to be a soft mod. The Xbox first boots into the stock MS dash, but with the "Xbox Live" tab replaced with "Phoenix" Selecting it boots into the UnleashX dash. I like this setup since I think the stock dash is cool, and has a better game saves system than any of the dash big replacements. However, when I first tested it out it was fragging, and the HDD (which was replaced at some point via chimp with a 128gb one) seems to be in poor shape based on the sounds it was making. I am considering on giving it a tsop flash for the sake of keeping it alive, but It would be cool if I could keep the dash replacement. Any info on this "Phoenix" softmod and its viability as a hardmod dash replacement would be great.
