  1. I’m attempting to fix a friends unmodded 1.0 Xbox with a dead HDD (error 7). I’ve successfully extracted the EEPROM using PiPROM and prepared a new IDE HDD with FATXplorer. However I’m having trouble locking the replacement Seagate ST3320620A IDE HDD which according the Xbox Hard Drive Compatibility Chart supports locking. Initially I used an IDE to USB adapter but XboxHDM23USB Beta 3 and 4 complained about an unknown USB chipset. I then tried a StarTech PATA2SATA3 IDE to SATA adapter which progressed a little further but still fails with “ATA SECURITY SETPASS failed: scsi error aborted command”. The output from XboxHDM23USB Beta 4 shows that the HDD is in the frozen state which I believe prevents unlocking/locking. If this is causing the failure, how can I unfreeze the HDD? Can I use some other utility such as hdparm to lock the HDD?
  2. Hi all. Soldered the points required. Ran Bios Checker v5, saw the Winbond. Using Resctoox to flash the bios, when it locked up. It locked up before I even saw the bar. My Xbox will boot, but now the Bios Checker says unknown mod chip ect. I pulled the board as I thought maybe my solder skills weren't what I thought they were. I was able to check continuity on both sides of the and got tone from both sets. Any thoughts at all? This box is softmodded. Ready to pull my hair out. Thanks for any input
  3. Hi When i try to install an update for a game i got an error message just after the dash said "retreiving eeprom hdd key" can you help ? thx
  4. I've been racking my brain on this for awhile now and with the holiday break upon us I figured I'd revisit it. Some table setting: I have 2 softmodded Xboxs one is 1.0 and the other 1.6. They are both on dash 5960 and have the latest Rocky5 softmod update. Using this same utility I ran both units back to stock and re-softmodded them just because of this issue, thinking that something must have gone wrong when I originally softmodded these about 10 years ago. After all of this, I'm still getting the error within Halo 2, "unable to join party, try again later" whenever I attempt to join the created system link game. I can see the game that has been created, regardless of which system I create it from. I can FTP to either system just fine, and taking the router out of the mix and directly connecting the 2 units (this time setting a static IP in each) ends in the exact same scenario where I can see that game that has been created, only I cannot join it from the opposing console. Happy to provide more details if needed, but does anyone have a clue as to what could be holding this up?
  5. Hello everyone, I received an OG xbox that i bought on internet in perfectly working conditions and never been opened, i have just finished the installation of an OpenXenium chip on it. here some pictures of the installation just in case: After the chip installation i have flash an EvoX m8+ .bin on it using the webServer, and now i try to boot on HeXEn for installing the dashboard on the HDD but here came the problem, i start the consol, launch EvoX the animation show with the EvoX logo on the top left but after 20 to 30 seconds the Microsoft logo appears and finally boot on the default dashboard, i link a video in case i'm not clear. For the DVD i use a Verbatim DVD-RW 4.7go, 4x speed vitesse. I have try to: Burn the DVD on OSX with lowest speed (x2) and max speed (x4), not able to boot on HeXEn Burn the DVD on Windows using ImgBurn with lowest speed (x1) and max speed (x4) not able to boot on HeXEn Testing DVD drive with a legit xbox game no problems it launch with no issues. Do you have any idea where the problem could come from or if there's another solution for installing a dashboard on the HDD ?! the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8u2zkcr7Ds8
  6. Unable to flash BIOS. Error reading bios file (see pic). To me it sounds like I have a bad DVD burn? Just wanted to confirm. I did burn at the slowest write speed. Will re-burn again. -v1.1 mobo -XeXEn 2018 -Using Verbatium DVD+R media -Attempting to flash iND-BIOS.5004 (F and G) to use 2TB SATA HDD. Thanks in advance.
