It was hard to get a good image, I think I damaged the board pretty bad. I figured my years of recaping crt's and some smd soldering here and there would make me qualified. I think I might have seriously damaged it beyond my repair abilities, I had such a hard time trying to make that joint (I made the mistake of using flux), any advice on what to do now? worried I might be S.O.L

I was attempting to update the version of Rocky on the hard drive by using an extras disk. I guess the update corrupted itself because it refuses to load to the dashboard anymore and won't boot up any games, including regular xbox games that I own. I've done some research on this but I just feel lost. I know to say that I don't have the EEPROM nor did I null the EEPROM key. I don't know how that changes my options to repair this softmod. It was running fine before I attempted to perform the update via the extras disk. I would prefer a solution that lets me keep the xbox softmodded if possible. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

hey, im a bit of a newb when it comes to og xbox, but i just bought one for the first time off of ebay. it works great, but i know its a big deal to remove the clock capacitor. it looks like it may have been opened before but i dont have a torx screwdriver to open it up to check. im going to my uncle's on saturday so he can open it up and see. is it fine if i play it with the possibility the clock cap hasnt been removed? it works great in every other regard.

My brother gave me his old xbox v1.4 halo edition (w/ the green case) that he tsop flashed many years ago....he didn't have a hard drive in it but I have an unmodded xbox here w/ a hard drive. thought I'd put the hdd from the unmodded stock xbox in the the tsop flashed box and see if it'd boot....it comes up w/ error 16..so I burned a copy of hexen 2020 to see if I could get that to load.....it's stuck on the splash screen (the xbox logo; x on top of the word xbox) w/ the text linux under it and the purple evo x logo in the top left corner; i've attached a picture of it)....is this 'cause the hard drive is locked? is there a way around this, i'd like to be able to use the xbox. Thank you.
