Cleaning the house and getting ready to move. Came across miscellaneous OG xbox items as pictured. I used to be into the consoles quite a bit a few years ago, especially for the XBMC capability, but now I don't even have a console. The drives and power supplies were spares, because even back in the day the hardware wasn't 100% bullet proof. I believe they work, but have no way of knowing for sure since I don't have a console. Trying to sell this so it ships out all in one box. I can also sell thru my ebay account which is: and has a 100% rating. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?item=276086163390&rt=nc&_trksid=p4429486.m3561.l161211&_ssn=maerickson Edit: Should have mentioned that the caps on the power supplies are all flat.

As I was working on a repair Xbox for someone and noticed the two thrashed and broken heat sink clamps (not sure exactly what they did to them but clearly they didn’t quite grasp how they came off lol) I pondered this question. Has anyone ever tried to make replacement clamps to match or improve on the originals? I always just use others from parts Xboxes but I’m curious to know. I would assume they have to be injection molded or something of that nature. It seems like a 3D printed part might not hold up to that stress or maybe it would if done in the right material. Anyway, just thought I’d throw it out here and see if anyone had ever run across that before or tried themselves.

i've seen some bad info out there for noobs trying to mod a xbox for the first time. the 2 main ones are to null or modify your hdd key(without disclosing any of the dangers) instead of just keeping the old hdd as a backup to create another drive if needed and the 2nd one is to pry the gpu heat sink off. please don't do this, especially on a xbox that has sentimental value to u. this is a good way to ruin it. we really need to start being more careful what we tell noobs to do. i know my original xbox has a lot of sentimental value to me because it still has the game saves from where i used to go to lan parties with it back in the mid 2000's. i'd be heart broken if one of these guides caused me to ruin it. many other would probably feel the same way about theirs.

I'm thinking of cleaning the inside of my xbox but i wonder if it is save to take the sink off and if yes do i just rip it off bby force or do i need something that shoots direct heat onto it in order to get it off.
