I was thinking the bottom side only should do.

Should I give it a try?

Thats something you will need to test. In the makemhz discord they always say the flex is not soldered good when there is little solder on top of the flex when people have image problems.

    btw that flex looks premium

So... I'm about to place the order for a proto batch of flex cables.

I'm thinking about doing an extra cable to tryout EMI shielding.

This is very expensive to do a small batch with but I assume in larger

quantities the rate should get better.

This is not the flex for the encoder chip right?

edit: or is this just an generic example picture?

Can it handle 1080i? I don't know of any games that support 1080i but I'm

Enter the matrix is a game capable of running at 1080i

It's possible that your copy of Colin Mcrea 3 has been patched?

No, I only run untouched xiso and cci made by repackinator. These have the best compatibility.

And this is another option we could take, instead of pacthing bioses

the games default.xbe can be patched. In some cases even to 720p.

This is not a good route to go, this can cause problems with insignia. also not every game can/have a patch. Having aa patched bios is the most clean route to take. (my opinion)

I am only one man so I have a limit as to what I spend my time on.

I think the OGXbox community as a whole could do things a lot better than I can on my own.

For example in regards to Xenium based modchips we got the OpenXenium Firmware by Ryzee119.

Now we got people working on new OS and we have the team working on Cerbios.

In regards to the HDMI mod, one option is to continue Ryzee's OpenSource project:

    XboxHDMI-Ryzee119/src at master · Ryzee119/XboxHDMI-Ryzee119 · GitHub

Quote: "This is a 'working' but unfinished prototype. I don't plan to improve this further."

Quote: "This should only really be a starting point to make something better."

Obviously, this will need some work...

But we have a second option...

One man is steering the ship, but you have the whole community behind you. I think everyone wants to see a 2nd big hdmi mod with support for multiple chips and bioses.

For the software side, I did tests with my HD+ modded console with cerbios. This runs fine if you stick to 480p games. When you run 480i only games its another story. (not with all because colin mcrea rally 3 runs and that game is a 480i game)

Edit: I think the makemhz XBOXhdmi is based of the ryzee119 project

We have a prototype design for the XeniumHD+

    6pin to Xenium modchip

If I read this, I would think your HD+ needs the xenium chip in order to work like the stellar hd+ does it.

But I see 2 solder pads for SDA and SDA, so my question is: can your HD+ also work stand alone?

edit: made my comment more clear.

  6. If I recall correctly toca 3, the jurassic park game, the fable without dlc, one of the espn 2k5 or 2k6 games but forgot what sport, one of the harry potter games. A year ago I tested all my games that where repacked xiso (so folders to xiso) there where some with that error or black screen, if I then used a full DD iso (so an xiso with the sectors intact) they worked, that why I knew that was the problem. But I didn't keep my notes as I then switched to xiso made by repackinator.

  7. 7 hours ago, Bowlsnapper said:

For what purpose, though? What is the advantage to using an iso over a folder of files?

The advantage of xiso/cci created by repackinator is that the dvd sectors stays intact (so the files on the dvd are in the same place as the iso). A small portion of the games give a dirty disc error when they expect a file at certain place and it isn’t there.

If you create xiso from folders then its only an advantage to use these xiso files to get around the long file names. As the sector info is gone on these.
So some games wil give the dirty disc error if you go this route

Do we even need the pads on the underside?

I did these flex cables designs over a year ago.

    From what I can remember...

I thought that pads on the underside didn't really make scenes to me.

We only solder the top side...

If I remove them then we could do without the vias.

If continue with pads on both sides I will need to reduce the via size,

which in turn will make the cable more expensive...

    Thoughts?

Well, before I solder the flex I tin the pads on the underside, then I position the flex in the chip and just tack the points. The flex won't move anymore after this and then I do the top side. I think Dustin does both sides to make the flex attachment more secure when bending the flex afterwards. But maybe this is overkill, I don't know.

I never managed to boot Forza under Ind Bios, hence my reason for wanting to change, also my system has 128 ram, does it has to do with that?

Also another game which never booted ¨Sensible Soccer 2006¨

Sensible Soccer is a pal only game so you need to boot this one in pal, otherwise you get a black screen.

edit, can a mod remove my previous posts? I think my pc bugged and cant remove the doubles...

  16. yes this bios is safe and all games are compatible with it. Insignia also works with this bios. 128mb ram is supported and working.

nice thing to know: It has even debug features if you installed the debug menu on your xbox.

So this bios is something complete, I use it for a year now and I love it.

  17. I'm happy Team Cerbios exist. It's the only free option for modern features of the old xbox. I'm not saying I will never buy a stellar, but if I do it will only be one. I cant imagine that I buy a stellar for all my 10 consoles, lets not even talk about my x3 consoles. I want to keep them fully x3. With cerbios I can do this, with stellar not. I have one xbox with hd+ installed and its never used because I want to use cerbios on it, it works in parts but not all games can run this way (like pal only games ect)

  18. the stl for the face plate exist for some time now, but if you want to let make a face plate like the originals (so not 3d printed), you're looking at a price with 5 digits to make the injection mold and some samples. For a console like the og xbox it's a big investment, the userbase is not so big and not everybody loves the face plates.

Do you know if this tool is ready? I have been pretty busy the past year since this thread died out and am starting to get around to wrapping this up and if there is a way to get all the games working as iso's I'd prefer it.

This tool is released, it's called Repackinator. You can download repackinator from the team resurgent github page. https://github.com/Team-Resurgent/Repackinator

Just use untouched redump iso files and the program will do the rest. It will also create the attach file.

the main repacklist.json in repackinator is fully tested and is build like so: all usa games + pal exlusives + jap exlusives. If you wish to convert another version of the game for some reason you can add it to the repacklist.json (you can find the alt games in altRepacklist.json)

Here is a compatibility list for xiso with cerbios: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vTsVPLdUJvc0R8oYXbx5xVSEBHW98VH2xM5XkvODvC01Sbcj9b3I2laWD3ZxN-Yklm4qJR2jF4nXuiu/pubhtml?gid=0&single=true

And here is the compatibility for CCI (cerbios compressed images): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/1/d/e/2PACX-1vSewa5ynfmFC6Dg9FeF9nBF511dGgHc6VwtmR5AH3yyba-bqXO2OAvR-_xxPSLk84xCiM8LxntTYzHX/pubhtml?gid=0&single=true

I believe MakeMHz has said that there is a front panel add on coming but I'm not sure if its a complete faceplate replacement or something more like a pro switch

I think he did mean an addon to stellar to get the x3cp xlcd working under stellar. Not a whole new face plate.
