  1. I have used this method: With a multimeter set to measure the lowest resistance, take a reading between pin 2 and ground - touch one probe to pin 2 and the other to ground. Any of the pads where a screw holds the motherboard in the case can be used as a ground contact. If the reading is over range, a flashing 1 . or 0L, then there is no connection from pin 2 to ground -- a v1.5 Xbox. Otherwise, your Xbox is a v1.4.
  2. I thought it will short the circuit. Anyway, there are 1.5 crystals out there. I have been modding my xbox this week. And, I spent a lot of time trying to guess why wasnt working the chip. Then I saw a post in reddit explaining hoy to measure the pins and linking the pin 2 and pin 9 works. I hope this will be helpful for someone.
  3. Try to install the chip normally. And, if it does not work, measure the resistance between ground and pin 2.
  4. Yes I did. And, it doesn´t work. So I measured the pin 2 and 9, and I realice that it was a 1.5 Apart from that, if you try to link the pins in a 1.4 you will short the circuit. That´s why I measured the pins with the polimeter. Is a 1.5. No doubt about it. I can take more pictures if you want.
  5. Some of the european xbox crystals are 1.5. My xbox crystal is a 1.5 So, in order to install the aladdin I obtained the ground for the pin 2 and 3.3 for the pin 9 from resistor you can see in these pictures.
