  1. I don't think you do.  the optical audio jack is in the AV plug on the 360 cable that's not used when building a Xbox component cable by cannabalizing the 360 cable for the RGB component (YPrPb actually) and Red/White RCA jack audio connectors.

You can add your own either coaxial or optical transmitter  internally mounted to the back of the console itself.

Something similar to a Toshiba ToTX177(F,T) or TOTX179 optical transmitter.  Or an orange RCA jack for a digital coaxial jack.

See the following Xbox AV cable wiring diagrams: https://imgur.com/odRIA8b

  2. How about the only modchip currently in production:

    Aladdin XT plus 2

    $3 to $5 price range.

You could try for one of BennyDiamond's XBlastLites for ~$48.50 IIRC.  He's in Canada - BitCoin or one of the other limited payment options available.  Contact him on assemblergames.com or his alias psyko_chewbacca on XBMC4Xbox forums.

Well, the link works for me... but im uploading the files to zippyshare

If you're logged into eurasia.nu, the links you provide will work; however, for others, they will not.  The shared listing link on each file's download page should be used instead.  It has no key value associated with it:

    http://www.eurasia.nu/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&lid=3379

vs the redirected link that results in the error message:

    http://www.eurasia.nu/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid=3379&key=MzM3OTozMDM2Nzk=

    and eurasia.nu's suggested external link:

    AbuseX v1

  4. Check out this CoinOPS forum thread:

    https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/coinopsproject/adding-xbox-original-games-to-coinops-8-t6137.html

scroll down to the post by Terry68:

Download the XBE shortcuts and pointers files archive via the link in the code section.  Follow the remaining instructions on how to add the pointer, shortcut and preview files with the naming convention CoinOPS expects. (e.g., Halo2, shortcut XBOX_Halo2.xbe, pointer file an empty file named - XBOX_Halo2.zip).  Don't think you have to create these file.  They are in the archive you download.  Select the files from it based on F or G Games installation folder and the pointer file to add to CoinOPS.

  5. Yes, for a v1.6 Xbox it will stay lit as the power line connected to the LPC header pin 6 is an always-on voltage source unlike the switched supply found on v1.0-1.5 consoles.

Installation instructions should have mentioned removing pins 4 and 6 from the 2x6 header before installing it in the LPC Debug port.

If you really want it to go off, remove pin 6 from the header and supply power from an alternate 5Vdc switch power source on the motherboard.

    For more info, see: http://xboxdevwiki.net/LPC_Debug_Port

Not sure why he needs the flash drive mentioned at 6m04s. Probably for use with the older version of Hexen Shambles Edition instead use Hexen 2017 found in the downloads section here at ogXbox.com.

Update: Yes, that was the reason, the BIOS file for v1.6 Xbox was older on the Hexen Shambles Edition disc than he wanted to use. Therefore, he downloaded additional software and copied it to the Xbox's HDD.  The updated BIOS is already present on Hexen 2017 so those steps are not necessary.

got some aladdin tx+2 from ebay work ok in 1.6 but will not boot older ones had to flash them down by installing them in a 1.6

Which BIOS doe they have installed on them?  What's the Kernel version and BIOS name?

MD5 hash value from BIOS Checker v5.0?

Generally, it's the other way around the v1.6 BIOS can boot on v1.0-1.5 Xbox's but the 1.6's require a 1.6 version BIOS to boot.  Ultimately, the correct version of BIOS needs to be flashed to the chip for the version of Xbox - v1.0-1.5 or v1.6(b).

  7. The maximum partition size using 64KB clusters is 1,024GB.  Therefore,  a G drive (partition 7) of 1,734GB won't work.

With XBPartitioner v1.3, create two equal sized extended partitions:

    Partition 6 - 927.78GB
    Partition 7 - 927.78GB

Then, use XBPartitioner v1.3 to write a partition table to the HDD. The latest X3 BIOS, Build 3294, should read the partition table saved to the hard drive.

  8. Rocky5's Xbox Softmodding Tool Build 1.1.4 is the latest.  Last update made 20180106.

There are probably 2 different copies of the dashboard running with each one reading its own config.xml file, Therefore, making changes in one does not change the other.

Check to see if the path to UnleashX changes.  Press the (Y) button for the System Info page then scroll down to find the path and running dashboard XBE. Repeat for the two different areas you've noted.  If the same XBE and path, changes should carry across. If different, you know the reason why changes to one don't carry over to the other.

The softmod changes the color to amber (indicates softmod active) then after UnleashX starts the LED color changes to that of the dashboard settings.

Make sure you are running the latest version of FileZilla.

I'd also say to make sure to run the latest version of UnleashX; however, it has a root directory glitch where you cannot enter one of the drive letter partitions by clicking on it.  You have to key in the remote directory first to enter (e.g., C, E, F, G). There seems to be a buffer overflow problem with the date/time that corrupts UnleashX's FTP server's root directory listing.

    UnleashX 0.39.528A Build 584 - latest version.

Rocky5 has patched the UnleashX 0.39.0528A Build 584 xbe included in his softmod. It sets a fixed date/time for all transfers thus resolving the problem.

UnleashX 0.39.0222A Build 572 - no root directory listing glitch.

  9. Since only red works, either a bad PIC processor, a broken trace for the GREEN LED control line from the PIC (U7B2), broken/disconnected series resistor between the PIC and drive transistor base pad, burnt out GREEN LED drive transistor near the Front Panel connector (solder side of the motherboard) or current limiting resistors.

Since neither side lights, I doubt it's the current limiting resistors for the LEDs.  There are two one for each side of the lighted ring on the front panel.  Most likely the trace from the PIC to drive transistors opened/cracked somewhere along its long route or the transistor.
