  1. Got that worked out eventually, thanks. I meant to update the thread in case anyone was curious... Originally, I thought the Stellar controller support was similar in function to OGX360. Anyway, new firmware updated and Series X controller tested and working - the box is being repaired by Jack at RetroModz, he does great work - he made this up too. USB-C to Xbox controller plug, lovely.
  2. I was just catching up on that. I have always just used OG controllers. So, am I right in thinking I would use a Xbox to USB adaptor and then use a Wireless adaptor, to use the One X controller? I'm guessing it's that, rather than the Xbox to USB adaptor and then a USB data cable...
  3. Haha, Dec 9th. Good stuff. Looks like 1.4 isn't far off either. Thanks...
  4. Thanks for that. All I had seen was the information on the website, I appreciate the links.
  5. Controller would be a bonus. UDMA and TRIM especially would be good for the SSD. I recall there was a fairly active Discord when I was originally buying the HDMI kit, but I no longer use that, or many other social media sites. Thanks for the response.
  6. Hello all, Browsing the site, I am aware of some drama surrounding these chips. To be clear...I want no part of that. I am having a repair done on a modded Xbox, it has an SSD already installed, it was running Open Xenium with Make MHz HD Kit. I have been given the option of a good price on a board with Stellar HD+ I just wanted to know if anyone can tell me whether some features are now available with Stellar? Specifically the UDMA and TRIM support... Also, I read somewhere that I can use Xbox One controllers like an ogx360 setup with Stellar too, is that possible? Cheers!
  7. Thanks for the response. Searched and found similar from that suggestion. Will open up and have a look for damage on the underside around the removed capacitor, check for bulging caps too. Cheers
  8. Great thanks, I will take a look at the capacitors.
  9. Thanks for the response. Yes, it was modded Open Xenium and MakeMHz. Clock capacitor was removed. Surely that would be an odd response to see consistently from damaged traces? Have you experienced this issue before? Edit: It's a 1.2
  10. Hello all, I was changing settings on my dash and it seems that this - might - have caused my issue. Regardless of the xbox being powered off with "black button - shutdown" or the main power button on the xbox itself, when I turn on the socket at the wall/power strip the xbox is powering up and turning on. I had a look through options and setting, but cannot see anything related to this. Can anyone tell me what I might have changed to affect this? Cheers!
  11. Having played a few more games recently and switched picture settings I have noticed screen tearing dependent on those picture settings. I am using a Samsung QLED and "game mode" seems to produce this effect more so. Could that be the issue you are having, what kind of output do you have from Xbox to TV and what kind of display do you use? I may update after trying different combinations, see what give the best result. Picture sharpness seem to give the impression of worse resolution too, for example.
  12. Slight hitch with running Celtic Club Football in PAL/PAL60 having enabled "switch video modes" in XBMC4Gamers. I get an "unsupported resolution" message from my TV the same as when I had tried to enable 1080i in the dash previously. I suppose this makes sense for a PAL signal but I'm surprised I didn't come across this before, that it has only happened with this game. My unit is a v1.2 with MakeMHz HDMI+ as that relates to resolutions that are/are not supported; in this case I guess it's about what the game code is putting out. Oh, well FIFA 2002 instead then for my OG Xbox football
  13. Thanks for the responses guys, helps to understand what was happening. I had the dirty/damaged disc error on Full Spectrum Warrior - had confused the hell out of me I'm pretty sure I had blank screen at launch with Curse - The Eye Of Isis too, but I have checked all the other games that previous posts have listed and so far so good; now I have a workaround for Celtic Club Football too. Cheers!
  14. @KaosEngineer Thanks very much, great call. I have fired an NTSC ROM in there and it's all working. I wonder how many more PAL versions I have FTP'd that are lurking in there. 300 ROMS on the SSD Thanks again, you consistently respond on this forum, it's very much appreciated. Cheers!
  15. Ahh, that could be it. The rip from disc and playing the disc itself are PAL. I will take a look at the settings. I imagine that it would be a setting in XBMC4Gamers itself, that would apply? I will try it out this evening.
  16. Yes, there's no issues there. All the other games and apps launch okay. That's what seems so strange, it appears to be an issue with Thief specifically.
  17. I had originally installed Thief Deadly Shadows from a ROM but it failed to launch. I then ripped it from my disc to SSD and it worked okay when I tested the install. I went to play tonight from the copy ripped to SDD and again, no launch. I am just getting black screen having tried to launch from XBMC4Gamers dash and when using the default.xbe in File Manager. What is stranger still is when I try to play straight from the disc I get the same result. The disc is in perfect condition and everything else is working just fine. Any ideas?
  18. Excellent work. Further to my last post I managed to install through ethernet connection and urldownloader, dead simple. Thanks to everybody who has put their time and effort into this. My one rereservation about a modded system was the front end presentation and now, with this dash and artwork...it's just amazing. Some boxes don't have the specific region artwork I remember, I might look at changing that... Is that easy to find with filemanager? Maybe dragging and dropping from Filezilla? Any pointers to specific box art setting and adjustments would be appreciated. Cheers.
  19. I can have a look at mine, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's normal. I have been playing the OG quite a lot recently having loaded tons of ROMs. Framerates and screen-tearing have been giving me nightmares  EDIT: Runs surprisingly smooth for me. No tearing at all. I am running on a 1.2 with Make Mhz...maybe someone can do a like for like for you.
  20. If I FTP these files to APPS in my E drive and run the script from XBMC4Gamers is that the same as is described elsewhere in this thread using the urldownloader? I have about 8GB from your link but can see mention of the original files that were removed being 23GB...
  21. Interesting. Good to hear your experience, cheers. Does this all become a bit irrelevant with a modded dash in that case? I have Evox and Unleash would I set to NTSC there?
  22. Went back to Urban Chaos last night and the issue doesn't seem so bad. I had changed some TV display settings since last playing so it seems a lot better. Framerate isn't great and there's pretty nasty screen-tearing, but that seems more a game issue. I had also done a bit more research on PAL vs NTSC and have seen some posts about the Xbox having a PAL 60Hz mode too. Obviously an Xbox with modchip changes the region compatibility too, so I'm still not clear what settings or ROM would run best. My understanding stretches to NTSC - 60Hz being 30FPS and PAL - 50Hz being 25FPS. That being the case I supposed that I would be better with NTSC ROMs for best performance. Any clarity on This would be appreciated... FWIW running an Open Xenium and Make MHz HDMI+ into a Samsung QLED 60Hz input. Cheers!
  23. I think what I saw in Urban Chaos was different. I played a bit of COD2 Big Red One last night and I reckon that was interlaced video issue, going by my understanding of the way that updates anyway...it almost looked like the type of scan lines you would see on a CRT - like the alternate lines being displayed simultaneously, the edge of objects having offset scan lines, appeared jagged. Urban Chaos was like missing frames of animation on per object motion blur. I will get a video...
  24. Thanks for the response. Not the easiest to describe - as I recall it was almost like missing frames of animation, not full screen frames, just the moving objects - I will capture and attach or post a link. I am currently loading ROMS and can see the worldlwide/NTSC/PAL versions, so will also have look side by side between versions. Cheers.
  25. Jumping on this thread. A little frustration at current gen and some nostalgia is driving me back to the OG of late. I run my Xbox with MakeMHz HDMI into 60Hz input Samsung QLED. I had seen some video playback issues - namely Urban Chaos - and suspected that I may have to adjust picture settings to compensate but perhaps @prtscn this seems it may be a PAL/NTSC issue? I did come to the forum supposing that when loading ROMS/ISOs over FTP to the drive, as I am doing at the moment, that I would be better off with NTSC versions for the 60Hz v 50Hz rate matching the display. I did a little bit of research and any interlaced signal doesn't seem to be an issue. The better colour state of PAL seems not to be a factor with the way that NTSC developed, but hopefully someone better educated here can tell me... Would I get better/smoother display with NTSC with the 60Hz input on this display? @HDShadow if I understand you correctly you say that 90% of Xbox games are effectively dual format?
