Works with my Maxtor Quickview and Cerbios. Should work in your case!

Make sure you swap your IDE cable to an 80 wire cable as well. Adapters don't play nice with stick 40 wire cables, in my experience. Pretty much any 2 port IDE cable will work, but if you want a drop in replacement Xenium Mods makes a custom 80 wire that matches the OEM size and connector lay out. A bit more pricey but looks great if your case is clear. https://www.ebay.com/itm/195346956559?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=HEkCYLO_QvK&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=K2EhkXBLRdu&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

I really only grabbed RedHerring's post because Dustin (MakeMHZ) hasn't directly stated that there is no plan for support but he has made a few dismissive jokes about people using Cerbios. RedHerring is the guy who reversed the NES and made the OpenTendo. He has helped with the HD+ work from what I gathered and is a verified installer. He has pretty solid info most of the time. My guess is that reverse engineered > post release leak > pre release leak is the logic with that statement, just a guess. Could be wrong, but that was how I took it. Depending on how early the leak was, and what the "bugs" were that are being referenced, there could be pretty major changes. It would also explain a little better why the same patches would not work for Cerbios. While I agree with you 100%, we seem to only make up a small chunk of people who want both lol. Maybe there comes a day MakeMHZ writes a patch but I expect the solution to eventually come from a community member.

There is little hope these two communities will come together without a third party... for various reasons. https://discord.com/channels/643467096906399804/748082772752728076/1026389695833321523

That's that I was thinking too, but haven't started playing with OGXHD yet to know any of the limitations. It will be cool if it just patches like anything else!

Has anyone actually edited a MS dash xbe for 720p and had it work? The theory makes sense but how hard is it to accomplish?

Thank you!!! So from what I'm understanding, I should replace the cap, but the frag may remain afterwards? I ended up finding my old Aladdin XT+ from before the current run of fakes. Put that in the 1.6 and flashed EvoX with compatibility with my HD from the 1.0. Now I'm using it as a backup until I get my first one running. Edit: I just ordered a bag of 10v Kyocera caps and also 6.3v Kemets. I also put a $15 bid on a dead board on ebay for spare parts. I'm getting this thing running one way or another lol.

Side note, this thing booted 3 separate times, played 2 different games for over an hour, and idled at dash for ~45 min first night I got the ram installed. I let it sit for a few days then it FRAG'd first time I tried to boot. What are the chances it ran without that cap?

That explains the wonky reading from my 1.6 that I contemplated cannibalizing. I was getting 26.2~26.8 ohm and was too tired and pissed off to think it was anything else. While I don't expect this... do you know the footprint? I didn't measure yesterday and am too new to electronic repair to eyeball it. It would be awesome if I can figure this out without being home. I want to order some before I get off work.

I was previously aware that there was a difference between the two file types, but never looked into it. I am currently falling into a hole about LZMA and BCJ2 lol.

That did the trick. This is the first time I have ever used Windows to transfer anything for my Xbox. At home 7zip is default. Lol, that's what I get for messing around at work I guess

I am attempting to play my Greg Hastings backup from my storage and am getting a black screen. I understand there is a fix for this, but am unable to locate it. Is there anyone who can point me in the right direction? TIA!

I am a diehard xbox fan. I have owned xboxes since the early 00's and just last week finished my first hardmod. Looking forward to utilizing the great info here!
