  1. Cian,

Ordered a second hand Xbox 360 component from Germany for 12 euros these cables are very cheap because if I'm not mistaken only one Xbox 360 motherboard didn't have hdmi out and almost no one needed the cable hence the low price, it has digital opt out for audio but not going to solder the audio, also have a composite cable which I had beheaded, mine had glue on the solders but with a hair dryer I heated the glue and removed all with my fingers. If I'm not mistaken if you don't bridge pins 6 to 18 and 7 to 19, the console won't identify this cable as a component one.

Just don't know which way is easiest the way you chopped the head of the new cable and stripped the cable, or just open the head of the 360 component desolder the ground cables and all others and solder them again in the correct order on the new head.

  2. Cian

Already ordered oficial xbox 360 component to do the soldering, I have those cheap Chinese attached to a component to hdmi converter it just enhances the ghosts and low quality image driven by the cheap cable, also remember running same game on a ps2 system with its oficial component cables it looks a lot better than running on a Xbox which is unbelievable. You're right also own a pal system no HD quality cables on sale anywhere

  3. Today ordered what it could be the best game for original Xbox, no more no less than original Splinter Cell game, :) always liked stealth combat simulation allied with awesome software modding capabilities, the vendor had 10 copies of the game last week, now it only has 4, I guess this game must evaporate in no time, never know what can happen to my current system, and need to buy another one, or have a backup one, the console itself with no mods is even cheaper, in the US you can buy multiple ones form as little as 50 USD

  4. You can just use XBlast OS to flash a new BIOS. No reason to burn more DVDs and have numerous versions of HeXEn. Copy the XBlast OS application to the HDD (latest version is v0.56) and put your desired BIOS file in C:\BIOS.

XBlast OS is the best tool for flashing and is a lot cleaner than HeXEn.

Thanks Forlorn already flashed new bios with the tool you recommended , you're right a lot easier to flash and gave me the feeling of safe patching [emoji4]

Now everything is working as it should, wanna thank all the members of the forum for your help. quite happy with my new console, also own 360 (all versions phat, slim and e) and one S, but this sits as the special one.

  5. Alright xblast seems the easiest way to flash since it flashes winbond as well and it can be ftp.

On EvoTool which option of the partition enables f & g  for larger HDD, or which is the option on hexen dvd for f & g?

    1) Partition 6 takes the rest of the drive

    2) Partition 6 takes up to 137gb / partition 7 takes the rest

    Thanks

  6. I have a winbond chip, is xblast on the hexen DVD? On the Evo bios config app what is the option to have the biggest HDD, is it partition 6 and 7 with the rest?

If is easier to flash by an app way better than burning new DVD is true

Progressive mode gives always better image than interlaced, really is funny that on 2016 someone has managed to hack the bios to enable that on all modes, really very useful the hack, I don't have the expertise to do this. Also a user on the original thread has tried and had no problems even it has a new Evo logo.

Is amazing how this console is just full of surprises after all these years.

  7. Btw if I wanted to try this new bios, on Hexen 2018 for example for the M8 EVOX+ bios for F and G partitions, the file I needed to replace was "evox.m8plus.fc.137.bin" ? Does this file corresponds to the option on Hexen?

Is there an alternative to flash this bios without hexen, already know the difference between force 480p and component to vga or true HD bios, the later is used more for arcade cabinets.

  8. I have found this thread on another website regarding forcing the XBOX to display force progressive modes, and enabling everything to 480p instead of 480i, well here's the site

    For component to VGA

    https://assemblergames.com/threads/truehd-vga-xbox-bios-collection-happy-new-year-gift.59405/

    To force 480p

    https://assemblergames.com/threads/force-480p-xbox-bios-collection-santa-gift.59122/

This could be useful because if someone is using upscallers on interlaced modes, you see vertical lines along the way, but on progessive games the image is perfect, don't know if there's an app to force this, the downside of these bios, is that you have to have mandatory component cables to see anything on your console

Besides the bios itself it also brings hacked editing tools for the bios, so everything is included on this pack.

What are you thoughts on this? I think there's something very interesting on these new bios.

Don't know if the author of the bios MrNova is also a user from this ogxbox.com

    TRUEHD VGA XBOX Bios Collection.rar

Force 480p XBOX bios collection v3.rar

Don't know if component-to-vga  are the same as component cables, so I have posted both threats.

  9. Forlon,

I was thinking of doing the same, since your last Hexen DVD on EVOX M8+ it doesn't check for dvd drive.

As when you IGR  you notice a small hitch/noise on the dvd drive, checking for a disc. this way you will avoid that,. but on FTP why do you need a DVD in the first place, how many times you install a new HDD on your console.

  10. Dear All,

I want to unplug or remove the DVD from my XBOX

What is the most convenient way to do this, do you remove the DVD player from the box leaving a tray open for better air flow and afterwards how do you cover the opening, or just unplug the IDE + Power cable and leave the DVD on the box.

As the combination of FTP and larger HDD, the DVD Player gets completely obsoleted.

    Thanks

  11. Dear All,

As most users on this forum have faced the same issue, which solution is best for better video quality,

I own a so called "cheap" component cable, which in fact is not so bad as I imaged, besides having a  slight ghosting on the image, when I remove the audio (left/right) rca, the issue is more or less gone, but on the flip coin no sound.

So I figured out what could be to fix the issue of HD picture.

    1) I thought of getting a converter from component to hdmi, namely "Portta PETRHS YPbPr Component Video and L/R RCA Audio to HDMI Converter Upscaler 720p 1080p" which converters the signals from the component cable to straight HDMI signals and hopefully the ghosting effect could be gone with this solution, given the treatment the box does to the conversion and have an upscale image.

    2) Or ditching the components cable and buy this HDMI Link cable, on amazon

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Original-MASCARRY-No-Mods-Required-Converter/dp/B07JHJB1Y8?SubscriptionId=AKIAJKVC5TM5C4Y6TOSQ&tag=haggle-web-en-21&linkCode=xm2&camp=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B07JHJB1Y8

My system is a 1.4 revision of the Xbox, read horrible stuffs about xbox 1.4 and hdmi converters like Pound, but this one is of a different brand.

What are you thoughts on this?
