Hey Guys,
Awesome project!
I just ordered the PCBs from JLC and now I'm trying to get the parts...
Any idea if there's another socket that can be used instead of SM10B-SRSS-TB (J1)? Even on AliExpress they are as expensive as the CPLD itself.
Also - which Programmer to get best that is not too expensive?
DigiKey at $1.47 aud each and element14 at 37 cents plus gst in AUD

I had a problem with using Tony Hawk pro skater 4 that would not work with the Pal (in Australia here)game save but would work with the Region free game save.

Talk about going the long way of flashing a TSOP.
From around 2004 I have been using game save exploits to flash the BIOS without the need to soft mod 1st and have been able to use 007 Agent Under Fire,Mechassault,Splinter Cell to flash a BIOS.

I have tried both and after testing TruHeXEn it really it 6 of one and 1/2 dozen of the other.
I still lean toward Slayer and it's probably because I have been using it for so long and the Hexen 2018/2019 pissed me off with the crap left on the drive plus one time i installed Xblast from the hexen disk and after rebooting the Xbox it had changed the dash as well.
And I don't like when some Facecrap members tell me that slayers is old and to never ever use it and the only disk I must only use hexen 2019.
So I would suggest the before you start loading the drive up Do an install with Slayers 2.7 and give it a go then try TruHeXEn and see which one you like.
If you wan't there is also a Slayers 3.3.0 out in roaming about in wild as well.

It's a long shot put the drive back in the Xbox and load Halo2 to update the dash.

All the rebuild boards are the same and will do the same job, I just do it like the pic I posted.
If your using one of the boards clean the location 1st with Isopropyl and a brush and when soldering use Flux it's your best friend when soldering

I believe that TruHexen 2019 has a cleanup feature that removes all the unnecessary Hexen files. I have not tried this yet, but I though I remembered reading about it in the features list. I may also be totally wrong about this, but if you have a copy, maybe give it a look over.
Yes truhexen is a ship load better then hexen 2018/19 and it no longer changes the dash with out been told to and cleans up after it's self like a good little program should.

Hello ShinGoutetsu
I just tested a X3 chip in a version 1.1 that has one of N64freaks HDMI kits fitted and no problems get to the recovery screen but the X3cp in a version 1.6 with component out won't work with the power/eject and the only way to get to recovery is via holding the X button while booting.
If your using NTSC try disabling all but the 480.

Perhaps check the drive jumper on HDD and DVD, I like to manually set them rather than have them on cable select. ( had that go horribly wrong on a PC in the past )
You could but I have never seen a master/slave on a Xbox DVD drive.

Also since it’s a 1.6 do I need to replace the clock capacitor?
Hello Halo_2
The clock cap that's in the version 1.6 and some 1.4 is a better quality but they are stating to fail.
If you see any sign of bulging or leakage then you need to replace it as the Version 1.6 will not boot with out it and at $2 to $10 depending where your located properly worth replacing anyway.

With IND bios there is a config file on the c:drive you should be able to set it there or hexen can change the default dash as well

You will find that any time you use the Hexen disk it defaults your dash.
I use a SlaYers disk that leaves thing alone and doesn't leave a foot print on your hard drive.
Have a look at XBMC4Gamers but the choice of Dash is a personal thing.

All good
I would not touch Hexen with a 20foot barge pole, the final straw for me was I tried to use one of the apps on the disk and when I rebooted the Xbox my dash had changed.

I like it to be original as can be and I like the ms dash.
from a quick google rebuild port, I have to cut a trace and add a resistor.
No you just fit the chip with the D0 wire from the main board going to the chip and the BT point on the chip to the power button don't worry about the L1 point and if you upgrade the HDD don't forget to lock it
Did you know you can still use the MS dash with a mod-chip active (without using the MS BIOS)

Hello, I believe I've got a V1.4 with a Winbond TSOP. I am aware that I've got to solder some points here.. But what BIOS should I flash? And what should I use? hexen with raincoat?
And with the Bios checker it tells me it's a "modchip" or "homebrew"... What can that mean?
The xbox is softmoded.
First time flashing
Thanks in advance.
This is what it shows with XBOX BIOS CHCKER 5.0
1st off delete that BIOS checker it's CRAP. It only reports the BIOS that was used to boot and if you have soft modded it that's what is reporting not the onboard BIOS Chip
You need to add the links on the main board R7D2 and R7D10 to enable the TSOP flashing.
Then I use Xblast to flash the TSOP chip this what ever 256kb BIOS your planing on using.
