  1. That's correct there is no need for the D0 wire from the mod chip. The more I read this post it's sounding like the bios in bank one is corrupt and could probably be fixed with a re-flash but with out been able to boot a install disk it's going to be a pain. If you can get you hands on a Xbox that has a modchip or even borrow a modchip so you can load a install disk you can then hot swap the modchip to re-flash it. Boot the Xbox with the new chip Now load a bios flash program like Xblast and get to the point where it asks you to confirm to write the new bios file. Now without switching off the Xbox you unplug the new modchip and carefully plug the old chip on the pin header. Now commit to the bios flash. 2. You can upload the video to a file share or you tube and post the link here. I have seen the main filter cap's ( the ones next to the GPU/CPU)cause that issue as well. Is the Xbox hard modded or soft modded? What video output have you set in the M$ dash? What AV lead Component or Composite ? Try disabling 720, 1080 Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  3. If you want the chip always on with a DuoX2 you link the BT on the modchip to 3.3volt (pin9) and then connect the D0 on the main board to ground or the D0 on the mod chip if the Xbox is a 1.0-1.4 , On the 1.6 I cut the lframe trace as apparently grounding the D0 on a 1.6 could cause damage. 4. I suspect the HDD is failing. Try and power on the Xbox with the HDD unplugged when cold and see if the noise is still there. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  5. On a DuoX2 the red led flashing on the mod chip normally means the chip is powered on. And normally when you press eject the Xbox boots the original BIOS from the mother board and power on with the power button enables the mod chip. I think Bank 1 is a 1.6 bios and bank 2 is 1.0-1.4 only bios. It would help if you uploaded some pic's of the LPC solder work. 6. You should not need to redo the bios, I would check the soldering as MadMartigan suggested Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing. .
  7. I can read it ok, Just use the slider below each line of text. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing
  8. What voltages have you got on the Gray and Green wires? On the green wire you should have around 3 volt The Gray wire (the one closest to the heat sink ) should get around 3 volt when you press the power or eject button. 9. This should help with the different types Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  10. Yes pictures will help. If you upload the pictures to a share site like Postimages.com and the add the link here that way a high quality pic can be posted. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  11. Yes they can. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  12. S:// will be the memory card. If the UDD is unlocked then you can use a stand alone HDD cloner or even use Fatxplorer 3.0 Beta to copy the files from the old HDD to your PC the connect the new hard drive and Fatxplorer can format the new drive and you can then copy the files back to the new HDD. You can even have the new HDD and the Old HDD connected to your PC and copy directly from the old to new HDD's Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  13. I would take the chip from the 1.6 and fit it to your 1.1 and flash the EvoxM8plus bios for the 1.6 boards as trying to play with the files on the 1.6 HDD could lead to more trouble. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  14. 2.5 amps is more than I would like to draw from the DVD connector so I would either use the power from the HDD connector or the main power connecter The Thompson DVD drive claims it needs 2 amp at 5 volt but that would be a peak figure and I would think 1 amp continues Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  15. As far as I am aware insignia will be fine with a unlocked HDD and the only limitation is the HDD is not all zeros that's why the new nulling software now makes the HDD key all one's. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  16. Was it working correctly (at least booting with the animation ) before you fitted the mod chip? Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  17. It will only use 64kb size if the partition is above 512gb Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  18. Do you mean the D0 on the mod chip. If you ground the D0 as in the pics I posted that will force the Xbox to use the mod chip. Use the alternative spot on the bottom of the board. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  19. Yes, You can use Fatxploter v3.0 Beta But as the Xbox has a mod chip there is no need to lock it. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  20. What mod chip? Try grounding the alternative D0 point on the main board as this will force the Xbox to read from the LPC port It would also help if you posted some pics of the mod chip install. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  21. Try pressing the left thumb stick in Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  22. I would highly suggest the mod chip be wired to always active as the only reason for using the original bios was for Xbox Live so you didn't get banned. Buy removing the wire from the front pannel and connecting the BT point on the mod chip like this it makes the chip always on As for the D0 point I always suggest you ground the D0 point using the alternative D0 point on the bottom of the main board. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  23. Error 05 is the HDD is not locked and by powering on the Xbox with the eject it's booting to the original bios and not the mod chip. Try changing the small switch that's on the mod chip or at least move the switch back and forward a couple of times. I suspect the HDD may have failed or it could be the mod chip solder joints are not so good. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  24. I doesn't really matter what order. If it was me fit the mod chip and when it boots to the Open Xenium menu with the Eject button you will know the mod chip is working. Then you can load the install disk in the DVD drive and select a BIOS file to boot the Xbox to load a install disk like the OGXbox 2021 installer and use that to remove the soft mod. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  25. Looks like trace damage here in the yellow box Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
