There are certain bioses out there that have enabled flashing the tsop while booting from a modchip. The Matrix, the Chameleon were claimed to be able to do this, Possibly the Xenium. You have to time the d0 ungrounding properly(maybe it wasn't d0. I don't remember which points you have to connect/disconnect prior to flashing but the tutorials are out there.) but I'm certain that can be done programmatically/mechanically.

However you installed the softmod, there should be a way to disable it there. You can do that, then boot normally and change your language. Then re-apply the softmod.

The xbox just works slowly without a dvd drive attached. No known workaround that I know of to have absolutely nothing there. I would recommend taking the pcb out of a dvd drive and just attaching that. It takes up very little room but will give you your performance back.

You're going to need to figure out how to do a sector by sector clone. Anything that tries to read the file system is going to fail..

A couple of weeks ago I decided to do a removable LCD screen mod that plugs into the controller ports. I'm thinking of raffling this to help support the website. What are your thoughts?

There are many that say to cut trace because grounding lframe draws more current than the mcpx should be able to tolerate. That is true. There is no debating it. The problem is... many have been done this way for over 10 years with no issues. If they were actually going to be a huge issue, they already would have been. So there is no cause for concern. Do whatever you feel comfortable with.

Use it in one of your 1.6's. When you do, just make sure you use a 1.6 bios. It doesn't really matter which one.
