  1. I agree there's no need to beat yourself in the face with a brick trying to reinvent the wheel That's fantastic thank you for that information
  2. PVM 1271Q and a JVC LT-32JM30 I run the Xbox on the JVC in component As for the Sony I only literally seen it run one time and it looked really good he was demonstrating it when I bought it which I did acquire it very cheap the history on it was he bought it from a guy was gaming on it as well and the reason why both of them sold it is because they upgraded I just been using the JVC I've been running it in the component and as far as I know it's decent.. I made the upgrade to component cables and it seemed to clear up and be a lot more sharper but I don't have a lot of experience to say this was quite the Boost. the JVC I literally got that thing for free so I am not going to complain. I know neither one of them are anything to write home about but I am looking at upgrading.. I'm very interested in finding something that I can run with the original Xbox no hardmod just utilizing a cable as I have 2 other Xboxes I'm going to hardmod as for the one I'm going to leave as is I'm going to use component what kind of monitor or TV would you guys recommend I'll have a budget of about 400 to 500 I know some of you guys are going to say well use your pvm or stick with the JVC but i would like something better quality (JVC) a little bit bigger (PVM).
  3. it's kind of nice to ask a question here I know that there's a slew of information in which I've gotten lost in.. Here I feel I can get the more direct of what people do and what they're looking for and kind of what they utilize for their gaming and other things that they do + just having some fun general bullshittery
  4. holy stack of TVs that is pretty interesting even its own storage unit what a champion.. complete awesomeness thank you for sharing this also gives me a little bit of an education and understanding what's out there and people's preferences and in general really awesome finds
  5. Awesome to see that this conversation is still going on.. it would be very interesting to see if someone actually get something to work and shares what they've done with people.
  6. especially when you find some old some old Tech or some type of old Gaming System accessories it's pretty fun to stumble across that stuff sometime.. I have the issue where I like to find something pristine that i really want but then I'll buy another that's a not so great condition so I can use it and the other can be on display plus it just gives my wife and i an excuse to go out and look around and have a day together
  7. 100% agree it is pretty satisfying.. I have some things that are still in the box I haven't even touched I know this seems sick but it's satisfying haha
  8. yeah I did that a long time ago but now that I'm back in the game I thought maybe I would try looking around for something new that's why I started a thread to ask others what they were doing
  9. yeah I have a pvm and I also have another TV that's capable of component but it's an older LCD from back when they were first coming out cool thanks for the information though guys I was just kind of curious to what the community was using for their Xboxes
  10. I know that seems like kind of a dumb question considering that there are mods to go to HDMI.. I have recently noticed some people use other methods.
  11. Just thought I'd ask what are you guys using to play your Xbox on??
  12. That's exactly what matters
  13. it's definitely an extraordinary console not many people did a thing like this or at least share it I would definitely even go so far as to say very little information is out there for such a thing so the fact that you have done this is very impressive. I'll even say that it's good that you've done this in a way because this will help preserve it regardless of overclocking
  14. That's personally my plan for the future is to externally attach radiators or even go so far as to change the case.
  15. I looked up some information to what processor was in this thing from what i found "Custom 733 MHz Intel Pentium III" so I decided to look up this processor and its idle Temps granted this probably doesn't apply quite the same to the Xbox This is for PC so I found a couple of articles from 2000 to 2002 people were asking what temperature they should be getting for that processor at idle some of them were also posting work load temperatures as well this is what i thought was interesting people were saying not to pay too much attention to the temperatures viewed through stock components and or software and to use third-party devices+software anyway the point I'm getting at is you should probably use some other method of reading the temperatures of the cpu which looking back in the past I remember seeing people who did physically modify the console to display the temperature now I've never done one of these modifications so I don't know how they're getting those temperatures, I'm going to take a shot in the dark and say probably from a mod chip and they're pulling the information that way I did notice that the Xbox sometimes was slow to update the temperatures if any of this information is wrong feel free to correct me
  16. I don't know what the temperature of the Xbox generally idles at
  17. Thanks for the info let us know if the temperature change
  18. yes I noted up top I'm aware I can get parts I usually just go and pick these Xboxes up pretty cheap.. I'm probably going to have several of the consoles I want to try to do different things with each one I need to really start learning the tools that are needed to effectively utilized pre-existing downloaded games.. much like most of you I've have had some of these games for very long time since they came out and I even have multiple copies of the same titles to clarify original none burn copies Some of you probably find this to be a big waste but I only have a handful of my games on my console, I really didn't do any of the emulators or have a whole bunch of games I used to mess with this probably back around 2015 and set myself up to get a good start in the future (now) I essentially just have a bunch of Xboxes all the original copies that I want and have just started getting into it, my plan is to back up what copies I have then learn how to move them around from console to console FTP simple not a big deal that's easy, I've already done a little bit of it with the Xbox so I'm not completely new to it where I'm having a hard time once I get the game burned to the console how do I take the game off of the console.. not necessarily burn disc but to take it off the console and put it on a backup hard drive and then if I get another console and I've modified it or whatever I've done to it move that game to that console don't you need a piece of software on the console that will prepare the game so that you can FTP it and be something that's actually usable now what I have been doing is modding the console upgrading the hard drive with all the stuff I want on it then take the original hard drive that was in it mark with some kind of information showing that it came that particular said console now I have done this with two consoles so I now have three hard drives per console so I will have the original one that is stored away as a backup and the new one that is now in the console and the third one just being another backup to go with the original Overkill perhaps but that's what I've been doing. I've also been wondering the game that I put on there with the disc is the media still any good how can one tell can it be tested, haha what I've been doing to get around that is just play the game through.. so far so good
  19. the optical laser is completely gone... and to give you another idea of its condition I found crayons jammed in it one of the gears are completely broken and gone
