  1. I did exactly the same thing yesterday. Easily done.
  2. It would appear that the power supply I have in my "project" xbox is faulty. Tested with another psu from my other xbox, and it works, so definetly the supply. Anyone got one they would be willing to part with at a reasonable cost? In Australia preferably (220v) Cheers
  3. Fair enough. Not looking to split up the console!
  4. I am located in Australia, however I do have a complete working Console as above. Have the green Halo controller as well. Any interest?
  5. Seems feasible though. Might have a play. got nothing to lose really.
  6. So, If I were to do something akin to "HotSwapping" https://consolemods.org/wiki/Xbox:Hotswapping I should be able to achieve the same thing right? I dont need to actually hotswap, as I can unlock the drive, but the process should work right?
  7. I have a modchip - currently unknown, I did it 10 years ago... Considering simplifying things and doing a tsop flash instead. So I know that the mod disables the onboard tsop (d0) so without enabling the chip, and disabling the mod, I cant access the tsop. But with the mod disabled, I cant boot unsigned, and therefore none of the flashing tools. So, am I correct is saying that once the mod is removed, I will need to soft mod, then flash? Is there another way? Switch on the d0 line maybe? boot to flasher, unplug mod (pin header install, and disconnect d0. is that even possible? Open to suggestions... Or.. I could just leave it alone...
  8. Sounds interesting. I assume we would send you our board for re-work? what kind of $$$ do you think it will likely be?
  9. makes sense. I need to open up the xbox at some point to check the caps. Will take a look at what I need to do to disable that. I have no need to boot to the MS bios!
  10. Hello I'm just in the process of dusting off my Green Halo edition OG xbox, that I modded years ago. Had a problem with the hdd, formatted it (with a release of slayers) and never got around to finishing the job. There it sat for 10? years and I am now in the process of sorting it out. I dont remember what chip I put in, but I do recall it has connectiopn to the power and eject buttons. When I press the power button, the dashboard comes up (cant remember which one), and when I press the eject button, I get a boot error screen... wall of text.... I remember that it will boot differently depending on which button you use, but I dont recall what it was. So, to get to the point, is there any reason I should lock the hdd? 120gb ide... Does the MS dashboard require it to be locked? I recall I had the p[rescense of mind to unlock the drive before I worked on it way back when, but dont recall why I locked it in the first place...
