Need a checkup on building a EEPROM reader from a person with a background on electronics.  Can I use two leds in series instead of a 5.1V zener diode rated at 1W for a EEPROM xbox original reader?  Can a 3.0V coin battery or 4X1.2V AA batteries @ 4.8V be used as a external powersupply directly?  Would 4.8V have too high of mAh or current for the EEPROM chip?  I plan to use a serial to RJ45 with a connector to ethernet as a cable.  I am using a bread board to create the circuit.  I plan to use the materials I already have.

I am sure it will not work, as an LEDs only pupose is to emit light and does not have any voltage regulator in it.  If you are in Canada search for BC Robotics as they have all the supplies you will need to build your eeprom reader under $5. Again I am no expert in electronics it might be possible maybe some other member can clarify this better.

I have the "Softmod.Installer.Deluxe.v5.11.Plus.Final" from the unofficial "Auto-Installer.Deluxe.v4.61.FINAL.2020" if you want.

SID 6 is xbox-hq vip only.

Thanks Sweetdarkdestiny, I have that version. But I have read that there is clock issue with that version which is reverting it back to Default factory date on every boot and it is fixed now in the SID6. The max clock date in ernix.xtf was set to 2019/06/06 . In SID6 it fixed until 2099 date.
Dave said he might have the new version and he is going to look for it.

On a 1.4 revision, are there test points I can use to verify continuity between the motherboard and LPC header pins?  I tried to find them myself but I have had some difficulty.  Just wondering if anyone knew an easier way.

I don't know the answer to that but I remember my early days when I was installing pin headers for mochips my success was only 50% so every other modchip job was a frag and had to reflow and test again. Later on a electrician friend advised me to start cleaning the LPC port from both sides with alcohol, add little flux and tin both sides of LPC port (without any solder) before inserting the pinheader for soldering. Success rate became 100%.

Right now I'm pretty sick guys. Not able to do anything right now but Raja reported that the beta i have send him is working so far. So the moment i feel better i will do the rest of the work and provide new images with XBLast OS as to flash Winbond SHarp TSOPs.

Please don't take this project seriously, I know you are very dedicated to it, but health is very important in this pandemic period so look after yourself and your loved ones and be safe. There are many alternatives for all of us for xbox needs, so we can all wait patiently. Wish you a quick recovery.

    It was

One 1.4 and one 1.2.. I have send Raja a beta version of the new build with the new config. I use XBlast now and see what Raja will tell about the Beta version. If they is ok, i will write a new config for the Sharp flasher and new images will come soon. If the beta fails, not to sure what i do then. MAybe i provide a last copy without the option to flash winbond & Sharp TSOPs for all of who don't need it. But we will see. I will also do testing but sadly i can do test with a sharp TSOP because i don't have a XBox with that kind of TSOP. So, In case Raja reports it working 100% i would appreciate if someone with a XBLast and Sharp TSOP on hand would drop me a PM to test the config. Or in case some lives in germany and has a Sharp XBox up for sale drop me a PM as well. So atm we all have to wait.

I will also do some testing with the original HeXEn to see if they cause problems because yesterday i flashed with the HeXEn version and failed. But the bios i used worked fine with a ST TSOP.

So maybe Heimdall could give me some feedback, in case he read this, because we maybe would both profit from the results which I would share with him and ofc you guys when I'm done with testing.

So yeah for now ìm out and wait for Raja to tell me whats his results.

And if anyone ask's, i will keep a copy of Resctoox one the image to install it ( I will grab a copy of the Heimdall HeXEn for that because I´m pretty sure I flashed both of my Winbonds with his Image in the first run (2018 or 2019 vesion I guess, not to sure about that)), like i have made with raincoat but, if the results are good, I switch to XBlast OS to flash winbond and sharp TSOP's.

And some offtopic. Did you guys know, that english is the only language where you write "I" (German "ich") as a capital letter/word? I think i will never learn that. :D;)

Bro, thanks for sending me the link. I burnt the DVD and flashed the winbond with all three bios in the options IND, Xecuter and Evox. All flashed Fine with Xblast. I did not try the UX and Special Bios, may be too chicken to do that!  Evox I flashed the Nodvd And YesDVD and it flashed fine  did not try the speacial and UX. And I was fine with the Blue X when I saw it with no music and flubber! Thanks for the Readme note regarding the Blue X without NO music and flubber😜. I am sure it was the New version of Resctook that caused the problem, because I used the previous one to flash the same Winbond it flashed it fine in the OGXBOX 1.1.6 disk.

  6. I got  two Winbond TSOP xbox. Should I try the same bios on them? I got pin headers intalled on them in case TSOP fails and I will snap in a modchip. That way we will know for sure.

But the Xblast TSOP recovery does not work on a 256kb TSOP that has a EVOX M8  or Xecuter bios fragged on them.  The  M7_TSOP bios simply will not boot the to TSOP to run the DVD. I tried it many times. Please share the method if you succeed.

Very nice, thank you Raja. :)

I have included : WDIDLE3, Ponyprog and Liveinfo Yoshihiro Edition to the basic tool pack.

And I think the best way to make sure WD Green user know about that I will include a standalone read me file a side with the iso and include some infos in the iso as read me as well in case some repack it and the main read me file get lost.

Maybe I should think about a "FAQ" style sub menu in the installer it self. That could be pretty nice I think.

Credits to you for testing all that Raja.

Its been pleasure checking out this kick ass disk. Let me know please how else I can help. I have 14 xboxs in my collection and have various brands  of modchips to test. I don't care If I screw up any xbox or modchip as this for fun and a side hobby. There are plenty more on sale around where I live in the $25-30 range!!

  8. Sweetdarkdestiny, yes I have tried flashing the NO-DVD Bios to TSOP, OpenXenium, Xenium Ice,  Xblast lite and to a Aladdin modchip. The 2TB Green HD booted just fine and I was able to cold boot DVD Drive. I disabled the Head Parking feature on them using the WDIDLE3 Utility. Maybe put a link to the Ultimatebootdisk download page that's what I used. The disk comes with various other useful tools and lots tutorials on youtube how to use the disk and WDIDLE3 which is on the disk. Maybe if you can  please include the two tools (Ponyprog and Liveinfo Beta) used for eeprom reading, writing and modifying they can be very handy. I have them but can save time for other users.

I use the EvoxM8plus on all versions unless it has a Ram upgrade and I don't have any issues.

I also have not had any problems with the X2-5035 bios and I use that TSOP flashed on version 1.0-1.1 128 meg boards.

    Cheers

Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.

Dave, I maybe didn't clarify myself. TSOP_m7 will not boot it self  flashed on a modchip if the tsop that is fragged has a Xecuter or EvoxM8 bios flashed onto it. I tried this by connecting d0 and A15 to ground on a Xenium ICE modchip and also a Xblast Lite which has A15 and D0 solder points on the modchip.

TSOP recovery methods are only good for 1MB flash motherboards.  Motherboards that have a 256KB TSOP flash can only be recovered if the the TSOP that is fragged on them was a MS original Bios. If trying to recover a bad flash on a 256kb motherboard that has a M8plus or Xecuter will not recover, TSOP_M7 will not boot.

If someone had luck with this plz let me know how.

  10. Great work Sweetdestiny! I have tested the Installer on all my Xboxs TSOPs and Modchips. Works great for flashing and Hard Drive upgrades. I don't think anyone gonna ever  complain  about not having a certain bios!  But they sure will complain about getting lost in the so many BIOSs. LOL!! We are going to need map now to find our way in and out of the Bios choices!! Great work.

  11. I have a Xblast Lite and TSOP_M7 flashed to one of the banks. I had a TSOP Fragged XBOX that I tried it on to recover the TSOP. TSOP was flashed with a M8plus that fragged on it. M7 Bios would not boot.  It only boots to recover a MS original TSOP or a possibly a IND 2004 on some xbox versions, It will not recover any other messed up BIOS on the TSOP.   I tried this for countless hours. I tried booting the TSOP.M7 on  M8Plus, Xecuter, IND Bios flashed TSOP bioses. It will boot none of them. Only one it booted fro me was the MS Genuine TSOP and I was able to flash that one. All others it did  not boot. Wish I had read this quote from the creator carefully!

"- There is a chance this BIOS will not boot if you have previously flashed a hacked BIOS on your TSOP. From personnal experience, M8+ and X2 5035 are problematic across all revisions. IND-BIOS 5004 works on my 1.2 and 1.4 but not on my 1.0(probably an RC4 key issue)."

The Green drives are ok to use if you disable the green feature by running a PC program called "wdidle3" as this will then make it a WD blue drive.

Many thanks to Dave for pointing out this tool. Here is a download link to the tool. Took me a while to find it.

Strange things happens, thats not the question. But the bioses are confimed working on Winbonds and all we do is guessing because there are no infos right?

When i put a 40 on the SATA the xbox will not boot. Exceptions are possible (different controller on the adapter i would guess).

So 3 thinks are possible (I think)

    1. The DVD is about to die.
    2. The IDE cable is faulty.
    3. Or maybe a "no good" combination of DVD and HDD. (WD Greens or was it the Blue ones, refuses to work somethimes with noDVD bioses).

How ever, Since Raja explained what he meent with "stock bios" I will inlcude some normal bioses with DVD check on. Not a big deal for me.

Dear friend I narrowed it down to the WD Green 2TB HD. Its not compatible with the no DVD Bios. Both Xboxs that I tried the M8 NODVD bios had the Green 2TB with SATA Adaptors made by kingwin. Its not the BIOS its the WD Green Crap. I tried an IDE WD 500GB Blue and a stock Xbox drive and both xbox boot fine with the NODVD M8 Bios. But weird thing is M8 with DVD Support, IND and Executer have no problems.

Please add the WD Green 2TB as a culprit to the NODVD Bios list  lol!!

Here is a untouched EvoxM8 BIOS file it is suitable for up to a 3tb hard drive(2.2 usable)

Dave the DVD Drives are fine, As soon as I flash the TSOP with EVOX DVD Support bios they work. Also all the other bios work fine too. Its just EVOX NODVD Bios I am having trouble with.

All no dvd bioses support DVD like Dave already wrote.

    Please read this Raja :

    https://www.ogxbox.com/forums/index.php?/topic/4602-beginner-bios-faq/

Sorry to be a pain but I tried all this, I have no clue what I am doing wrong but soon as flash a NoDVD evox bios my Xbox wont boot. Will just freeze on X logo. As Soon as I Unhook the IDE Cable from the DVD Drive it boots fine. Tried flashing a TSOP on Winbond and Hynix. Same story on both.

    Happy New Year!!!.
