So after 19 years I pulled my v1.0 out blew the dust off of it. Turned it on things were not ok. Long story short clock cap pulled, damaged traces fixed. Fired it up and the Xenium logo comes up , some text in upper left that can’t be read lol then it just sits there and does nothing. Chip led is lit up red, used to be orange. Reset solderless pin mount and double checked D0 everything looks good....but again still stuck at boot up. Could use some input. Thanks in advance for patience as I’m sure this has come up before ..I couldn’t find it.
I am really glad I found this forum website. Last year when I started modding most of the content I found online was so outdated. Somehow I missed this website.
Are unopened and unmodded XBOXs becoming more and more rare? Well, I suppose I know the obvious answer to that question - yes. My real question is to the professional collectors. What is your opinion on breaking of the stickers on and opening up suspected rare XBOXs? Do you do it when you get one to inspect for dust and corrosion or is it more important to a collector to keep the stickers intact?
Aside from obviously rare limited edition XBOXs what version(s) 1.0-1.6b are the most rare? One would think 1.0 XBOXs are the most valued and desirable. Are 1.0 XBOXs desirable to collectors? Are certain versions 1.0-1.6b becoming more desirable or rare than others?
I've recently decided to get back into the Xbox scene again after quite a few years. I'd seen that the OpenXenium modchip was one of the easiest and most up to date chips so I bought one to fit into my 1.6 crystal. I decided on using an LPC board instead of choosing a wired install but I found it really clunky, and was having trouble getting it to boot. I decided, after numerous attempts to get things running, to remove the board and wire up instead.
I have checked the joints and checked the board for spatter, removing what I can as and when I come across it. I'm now sitting without any modchip, checking to see if it works as stock again, only to be greeted with a frag. No matter what I've done from here has been the same result
Could any of you direct me here and let me know of any possible fix. I've taken pictures of the board. Please let me know if you need any more info. I had to upload them to some image uoad site as the files were too large, so here they are as URLs below. Thanks
