Just recently pulled out my original 1.0 console out of storage. Glad I did, clock cap was going bad, and feel fortunate it did not wreck the mainboard. I crudely removed it and gave it a quick cleaning with some IPA. Pictures attached. Finally got the nerve up to TSOP this bad mofo as well; my soldering skills are weak but I managed to get the proper points bridged and flashed an x2 bios.
