  1. Hello, my name is Kris and I wrote the Xbox repair guide 2.1 around 17 years ago. I have thought about updating it (my grammar was atrocious!) and wanted to get feedback from OG Xbox fans. On top of the grammar, I wanted to reshoot the videos and pictures to today's standards. I also saw the suggestion for a PDF version, so that's gonna go on the list. Any other suggestions? There's a lot I have missed since getting out of gaming so any help would be appreciated.
  2. Hello All, I have a xbox that i picked up used, and it has a xecuter pro 2.1 (i believe) but it does not have the front or rear rs232 or DIP switch plates. When i boot i get an error of an unlocked drive, so I assume it is trying to boot to factory BIOS and it has a WD 120GB IDE drive in it. I tried to jump the D0 wire to ground as I read that would force it to use the xecuter's bios, and when I do that I get a greyscale screen that "xbox Linux Clean BIOS 1.22dev" screen that tells me to put in a disc. is this something i can do with Hexen? Thank you for any help
  3. hey guys, tried to use M7 recovery BIOS on one of my systems when I guess I decided to get a little too creative and attempt the pin header install. Improvising a pin header out of a busted IDE drive went great, but I guess I installed the chip backwards. Xbox doesn't show any issues besides the obvious bad flash, but either 10-wire or pin header installs result in a straight FRAG (three reboots and all) as soon as D0 is grounded. I tried going through the chip and just tying D0 to one of the pads on the board. My Aladdin gets here on Monday, but is there any known fix here? My gue
