didn't seen above, fragmented files can also make loading slower. So fresh install is equivalent of defraged hdd. You can also do it by zipping for example E drive to retain original time stamps etc. and then extracting zipped E parition to formatted E partition.

also double check ide cable for broken wires.

I harvest genuine analog sticks from ps2 controllers mainly from model H - hori manufacturer, because they have high failure rate for circuit membrane. PS2, XBOX and XBOX 360 analog stick mechanism are the same - ALPS.

When using fake analog stick i keep original pots, since fake one have wrong value and makes controls super sensitive. But they feel inferior quality, better go with original ALPS.

Unfortunately i never seen DUKE style plastic knobs for replacement. For S type i use fake - third party plastic knobs or harvest genuine xbox 360, they are quite similar in design.

Never experienced faulty analog trigger.

replacing u1 with something that outputs less voltage, or adding big ass resistor to output - less efficient . Or buying  entirely different dc-dc converter. or soldering led directly to the MB to limited selection of voltage.

not sure about the boot sequence of xbox since it loads everything from bios rom, but could be a bug in the bios image itself. try downgrading.

If you have means to connect old HDD to pc, then use FATxplorer. I make zip files for each partition so it would retain timestamps and easier to store in HDD in case if backup needed.

Left clicking mounted partition's icon and selecting add to archive. Neat and lazy instead of using robocopy - the only program that retains timestamps, but its command line, very noob unfriendly.

So you archive c and e partitions, those are main, other partition if needed.

After that you format new HDD with fatxplorer, mount partitions and extract file from C.zip to C partition, etc.

And dont forget to lock new HDD after job is done.

My only beef is, even after changing display mode on monitor to 16:9, theres still small black bars on each side. I wonder if theres anthing a can do about it? I suppose widescreen patch?

I reckon i should avoid 1080i and stick to 720p right? And btw the games that support widescreen, do i have to enable ingame on a menu, or they boot straight into widescreen mode? (softmoded, widesreen enabled in settings)

The PAL version works ok for me, the problem is with the NTSC version, and I mentiomed that my XBOX is PAL because I suspect that it might be part of the problem that some of the NTSC game might not run on PAL system, because it is also gave the same error when tried on PAL XBOX 360, but worked perfectly fine on the NTSC XBOX 360.

And the other games as well I downloaded them again from Vimm's layer with the same issues.

pal version has non interlaced cutscenes. ntsc have sharper cutscenes, but interlace which looks like crap. both versions work on both regions. so go for pal.

Plasma is good alternative for CRT, in terms of image quality and clarity. LCD PC monitors are good with input lag.

CRT need to be calibrated and perfect image is not possible. mainly geometry and convergence is the problem.

Plasma, not sure if they have huge input lag.

Plasma will beat any LCD tv to this day, QLED, mini led, you name it.

007 nightfire is region specific, you can make it to work both NTSC and PAL by injecting missing videos from other region and injecting missing region specific files to VIV files so drive sections wont freeze. I think same is for 007 everything or nothing, just missing video files.

since it will need to boot og bios, softmod and then cerbio bios.

softmod supports xiso mounting, but i had significally inferior IGR boot times. So i use it on few games that cannot be patched against long file names by brute forcing hexedit.

Not sure about CCI what penalty is for IGR.
