  1. I know very little about the Stellar stuff. I have a WD20EZBX in 2 of mine, and they work great. I put a 3TB HGST HUS724030ALA640 in another last month and it worked good as well, however I wont be getting another one, it's just too loud. I ran a hdd health test with CrystalDiskInfo and Samsung Magician, which I have installed for my OS drive, and it is indeed a new drive, basically zero hours, no errors. I knew it was going to be loud as it's server grade, but I just can't deal with it.

I want to stay with a 7200rpm for my next 4TB build, but the prices really go up when you start getting into the larger drives. The WD40EZAX is only 5400rpm, but is CMR, so maybe it will balance out for the speed reduction? The 3TB is a good starter size, but it doesn't have room for all the demos, kiosks, etc. And I've been reading reports of issues with a few CCI games at 5400rpm, as the official compatibility list was made with an ssd. Would a 5400/CMR vs a 5400/SMR make enough difference in those games to reduce the chance of the issues? What about 7200/SMR vs 5400/CMR?

If you can install the flex cable on the hdmi, you can do the ram, I've never done either. I would check if Stellar supports 128MB, it may, I've just never looked into it. The extra ram would not benefit xbox games, but everything else could take advantage if supported. I know XBMC4Gamers does, and is a noticeable improvement, some homebrew, emulators, as well.

  2. I had this happen on a v1.4 a few days ago, I updated to v2.0.004 and it fixed it. The patch notes mentions fixing the v1.6 temp issues I noticed. It had a pretty old build on it. I softmodded it a few years back, and just got around to doing a tsop.

Here is a updated chip listing

I've successfully tsop'd two v1.0's, a Hynix and ST, both with Destiny's OGXbox Cerbios Disc. Both were softmodded running Rocky's latest, and then flashed using the Cerbios Disc. Is this picture still relevant? I'm working on a v1.4 now, and it's a Winbond. According to the pic, it's a different method? Or is the Cerbios disc compatible with all 6 versions of tsop?

  4. I forget where I saw it, but I read that to avoid the issues with power saving drives, you need to disable the head parking feature. Not sure if this is a permanent fix, or it just helps reduce the chance of issues.

I saw someone on reddit say that they used Autosol for the shielding. I've never tried anything myself.

I've seen some caps between the board and fan bulge, but I don't know if any others fail at a more extreme rate.

What dvd drive and sata adapter (if any) have you?

    V1.0, ST-3944, Thomson, Startech, 80 wire, and WD20EZRZ, udma 5.

It also double resets on a bone stock v1.0, though. 10GB Seagate, Philips, Hynix-4034, stock udma.

    Both tsop, no chip.

Cerbios on full reset IGR double reboots on my 1.1 Xbox too, showing the dogs logo twice and then going straight to the dash and I don't have any softmod files installed.

Are you tsop or chip? If tsop, what did you use? What bios version, udma speed, default paths? What's your Cerbios.ini look like?

Do yourself a favor and get rid of your softmod. It's causing you needless headaches. You reinstating that backup basically undid the intended benefits of formatting those partitions once hardmodded. Backup your C and E data manually, only keeping what you know you want. Wipe out the rest. Whichever way you format the drive, make sure that you use the "Setup" files that the installer disc wants to load onto the partitions. THEN start building and setting up your dashboard/launchpoint configuration, as well as replacing the files you wanted to backup (which really should only be homebrew apps or maybe gamesaves. NOTHING from the exploit should be preserved).

I got around to working on this one again, and I can't figure it out. I completely wiped the stock hdd, installed only Hazeno's C and E (with apps), and it still double resets IGRFull, however IGRDash and IGRShutdown work fine.

I then long formatted a new 2TB hdd in FatX, installed Hazeno's C and E with apps, same thing.

I only have P/Q while in 4Gamers, UnleashX doesn't show them. Can you verify if you have 4Gamers, that P/Q aren't present in File Manager? There's no possible way for me to have softmod files still present. Would my Cerbios bios be the culprit somehow?

I just noticed something in UnleashX Patched. When I loaded into it, the IP was static, so I set it to DHCP like normal, reset to 4Gamers, and now my 4Gamers IP changed to the Static IP of UX Patched, but 4Gamers network settings still shows Default Dash. What's the difference between UnleashX and UnleashX Patched?

Some apps aren't named default.xbe, I have to change multiple, if that matters. Unleashx.xbe, XblastOS.xbe, etc.

  8. No error code? 50% Red, 50% Green?

If you can get the 1.4 going again, I'd swap the chip to the 1.6 and tsop the 1.4. You'll need to rebuild the lpc on the 1.6.

Can you upload some pics of the artifacting? No bulging caps?

  9. Before giving up, I would try removing the dvd power cable to see if it forces an error 12, instead of 06. If so, it's now unlocked until the hdd loses power. While keeping the molex power connected to the hdd, swap ribbon cables from the xbox to a pc and use FatX to copy your u/data folder. If you initially power the hdd via an external source, the xbox is no longer needed after the swap, and can be turned off. The hdd will lock itself back when powered down.

I suspect your problems may stem from the fact that you may be dealing with a shadowC partition, among other things. There's no other reason for a P partition to be there. I think that even though you deleted the settings folder, nkPatcher is still loading, just with default settings. If you're going from a softmod to a hardmod, I would try backing up what you wanna keep on that drive and formatting and setting up C and E. That should really ALWAYS be done when switching from soft to hard... Giggity.

I completely forgot about Hazenos guide until you said that. I'm so used to softmods, I forgot.

The disc instructions said to repair C and E with my dash of choice, and that's all I remember doing. I then backed up C and E, formatted the hdd in FatX, installed the backups, and here we are.

Would this fix Dashloader not working or did I install it wrong?

How did you TSOP flash, from a softmod? Do you have a softmod setup now, by chance? What happens when you load xboxdash.xbe from Unleash's file manager?

Yeah. I went from Rocky's v1.2.1 and burned the OGXbox Cerbios Disc v2.3.2 Build 05. Booted it and read the instructions and went good. I deleted the nkpatcher settings folder, I figured I didn't need it anymore. Also flashed the bios to increase the fan and delete the bootanim. Selecting xboxdash.xbe boots to the msdash like normal, either from UX or Gamers.

If I do still have softmod files on there, I don't know how to determine which ones to delete, besides the nkpatcher settings.

Can you post a video showing the double reset when IGR is activated.  I need to see what it looks like or a better description of what is happening.

The flubber animation plays through then it does so again. Or, the screen flashes as the console resets no flubber startup animation plays but the screen again blanks then the startup animation plays.  The eject button flashes green then goes off then flashes again and the startup animation plays.

    I need more info.

I did my first tsop last night and flashed Cerbios to it. It all works good, but my IGR double boots as well. Selecting restart/reboot in XBMC operates as expected, only IGR.

I've tried disabling AV Check in Cerbios Tool, changing back to UDMA 2, and modifying Cerbios.ini. Heres a video of it, and contents of C. I also noticed that when in UnleashX, selecting 'load ms dash', it says its missing xb0xdash.xbe, I only have xboxdash.xbe.

I deleted the bootanim folder for faster boots as well. I downloaded Dashloader Customizer off 4Gamers downloader and ran it, but I feel I need to do something else, it's not working. It created a dashloader folder in C, with the buttons I created, but nothing happens.

Ive been getting dirty disc errors from hdd ntsc version on crimson skies on cerbios, but seems okay when loading my pal version - I’m gonna see if they use the same gameid for tdata - there may be a DLC region issue - or possibly even the DLC is unsigned or something. Or maybe the ol dvd2xbox processed some dodgy acl or something. I’ll do some digging if I get time. Theres a surprising number of variables here! Lol!

Not sure if you saw my comment, but my issue had already been documented to the Cerbios team. Are you BFM or hardmod?

In Rocky’5s emustation downloadeder there are a bunch of updates, mostly title updates. are those the fixes needed for the HDD games that don’t work properly?  He also has some DLC on there with maps and updated rosters etc but I am specifically wondering ask the other stuff outside of that.
Additionally, I downloaded some of the updates without having the games already installed but don’t see some of those downloads anywhere in file manager or taking up part of HD storage block so maybe you have to wait to do the updates until you have the game loaded…or maybe In the wrong place.

      Thanks in advance!

It's best to play a game once to generate a save folder, and then download the dlc and updates.

I don't think the downloader TU's will fix broken games.

Are you using a BFM bios because you have softmodded 1.6 consoles? Have you considered going down a hardmod route instead?

Yes, all of the ones I've been working on just happen to be v1.6. I already have the circuitscribe pen ready to go for the others. I rebuilt a trace on a garage door opener with the pen a few weeks ago, and its still working. So I feel pretty good about it.

  16. Turns out this whole thing was a known issue with the BFM version of Cerbios, I just didn't know. Jade on xboxscene discord informed me that he reported it a while back, along with some other ones. I done wiped the hdd and reset to factory, was going to start all over and see exactly where it happened. No longer have to. Jade said he would get dirty disc errors, but I only get black screens. Probably different versions of xbox/cerbios.

  17. Yeah, v2.0.003.

I've found something else. I was looking at the logs, and it mentioned not finding Root, and that's what I loaded into before all this testing. I was trying to save time finding the game each boot, so I set the default to Games instead of Root. I know about Favorites, but I wanted to eliminate every possibility. This is the only way I can accurately produce results, and play the game. Defaulting to Root black screens no matter what, but when set to Games, and time sync disabled, it always plays.

If feels like a mix of invalid time in xbmc and something to do with Root. I've attached 2 logs, one right after a successful game loading into the main menu and resetting the xbox. The 2nd is with time sync enabled, black screen, and a reset.

Attached 2 new logs. This doesn't explain why the game won't launch in UnleashX, though.
