  1. S S Dave you were right on the money. I went away and did 3 tsops on xboxs and all worked perfect. My last Xbox has an old xecutor 2 modchip (my very first console). So I replaced it with duo X2 modchip soldered the D0 wire and it fired up 5 out of 5 times. I now plan to reflash the other bank as you suggested. That should also mean the Aladdin x2plus I bought cheap should also work. I might eventually use it. Thanks again
  2. Case closed. I tsop it in about 10mins. Onto the next console
  3. Its mine. I think I will tsop it as I have already done tge necessary solde bridges. The 5 volts measured will holding the modchip in my hand with D0 connected to MB on bootup. I cant measue voltage with the chip in place as its upside down. Unless the pads on the back are also d0? I cleaned up the duo x2 thoroughly and give that one more go. Otherwise tsop it is. There is already a 160gig drive in and I want to proserve what already on games etc.
  4. I held the modchip in my hand on powerup. Testing voltages at D0 said 5volts and bt says 2.6volts. Not sure is that what your asking for. The D0 was wired into the motherboard.

  6. When the chip is out i alwasys get the green flubber stock dash and use normally. Will test voltage later. I will try to get a video up. Just need to compress it
  7. Do and other solder points
  8. The light hasn't been on very quite a few power ups. I may try cleaning it. I did switch to the aladin xt plus2. I cant get this to work either. The led lights red but on power up it whirrs a few times then powers up to frag. I think it might be the boards D0 solder point is bad. Its so small. While I had the board out I did the solder bridge for a future tsop if this drives me crazy. I have done 2 previous tsops on machines no problem but these modchips are a pain in the bottom. Will try to add some pictures later.
  9. Looks like I jumped the gun. The modchip is a bit flaky. Its a clone modchip i guess not being AMd. It just boots to stock ms dash again. I took out the motherboard and checked the d0 (bottom of board) i also with xbox on carefully measured voltage at do and the bt. The d0 was 0V but bt was 3.7V. You can check the picture for any visable dry joints. My aladin xt plus turned up so might just pop that in instead. I can use the pin header and d0 wire already there. The bt wire needs to be connected to a ground pad according to a diagram i have. See how I go.
  10. Thanks. Its a 1.4v so i will pick from this list.
  11. Just an update. I managed to move the BT wire to the 3.3 v pad and bank 1 booted up with green logo and red evox shield in corner with custom bios. Bank 0 is just a black screen. So I plan to reflash bank 0 with another bios. Will take extra care. Any buos best suuted to the duo 2?
  12. Sorry. Didn't mention got this second hand. Is it worth changing the position of the BT wire to a 3.3v location. Is there one easy to locate on the motherboard/modchip itself bridging wire?
  13. Yes. My hexen disc no longer loads on either bank.
  14. Just tested both banks. Looks like both are ruined as it goes down the boot order until the default ms dashboard. Will swap it out for the aladdin when it arrives
  15. Thanks. I think i was using the eject button to turn on console sometimes not realising this disables the x2 modchip. Im worried flipping to the other bank may not have anything there. Like a black screen. I also found a dirt cheap aladdin xt plus. I could just put the wires onto it as the header pins are in place already. Will test tonight thanks. This is mostly for hobby fun. Learning alot
