Sorry, slow reply... I got tied up with stuff.
That's a subnet mask, not a DNS server. From everything else I've seen posted after this comment, the only thing that I can say that I've seen act odd is depending on which dashboard was set to default, my xbox would act weird for IP addressing. Some dashes would get their addresses right, some wouldn't. Then if you launch another dash from that one, it's network would be all screwy and not correct itself. Maybe try re-installing a dash that you *know* should work right and reconfigure it?
I know on my network, between the OGXbox and the Xbox 360... the have an oddity because I run my network on the 192.168.0.0/16 or 255.255.0.0 subnet (depending on your preference). However, sometimes the units will get an IP address but use the typical 255.255.255.0 subnet, which obviously causes issues.
I did try different HDDs and Dashboards, didnt work. They all work in my other consols.

Does the Xbox's Link LED on the Ethernet port light up?
Look at the wires inside the jack to make sure they are all present (8), not pressed down and not covered with dirt and grim. I had one console that they were completely covered. The Ethernet cable could not establish a link since there was no electrical connection being made. Once cleaned off, the Ethernet port worked again.
yes it lights up. both colors light up (green/orange).
as mention in my first post, I took of (desolder) and put a new Ethernet port to the board. Did not help.
I can't get it to work. I'm going to desolder the RAMs, Caps and HDMI Mod and use another board that works.
From now on I check if the board gets an IP before I upgrade it with mods.
Thanks for all the help!

You can also use fatxplorer and never ftp ever again. Its way faster just need to hook up your drive. Good luck bud.
Thanks, I know fatxplorer, but it's more time consuming for me to take the harddrive out of the xbox. FTP seems easier especially for very small data transfar.
For brand new harddrive I use fatxplorer ect.

No problems with downloads via XBMC4Gamers or connecting to the console via FTPPerhaps you should consider using a static IP?
Just use ipconfig in your PC to identify what is your router's IP address (I am betting it's 192.168.0.1).
The rest should be relatively straightforward.
It's not about me. I have multiple consoles in my collection that work fine. The one we are talking about is for sale and I don't want to sell a consol with problems like this. It should be as user friendly as possible. Xbox, 2TB HDD, 128MB RAM, new Caps, awesome Dashboard, and there we go... pop in LAN cable and play online useing XLink Kai... just as usual.

Iˋm honestly excited to see what the solution to this is.
no solution yet, my modem looks clean, no blocked MAC addresses or anything like this. I'm clueless

okay, I check the modem again and give a feedback soon! Thank's for all the help so far!

Not the one we are talking about... any other of my 6 xbox gets an IP.
-
Yes, 4 ports and everything gets an IP, doesnt matter what I connect, Pc / Xbox or any other device like Nintendo Switch, Ps4/5 ect.
-
Yes I use two different setups but they are not connected. For FTP I just use the IP-Router. Xbox gets a static IP and I can easily connect via FlashFXP. There is no other router or modem in between. It’s more like a closed network.
For XBMC I connect straight to modem and basically get the IP and internet connection. But not for this one, it stays at 0.0.0.0. Never faced that problem before. And I don’t understand it because I didn’t change anything on my setup or installation.
I’m going to try what you recommend, maybe I get the Xbox to work. It’s still not the ultimate solution for me because I don’t want to keep the Xbox. It’s for sale.
-
Because it's just an old setup I'm useing almos 20 years now for FTP. Easy and save and I got all the programms on my XP PC... FlashFXP, Eeprom Reader, XISO ect...
Modem is "Fritzbox 7430", nothing special, I use it all the time and never had any problems.
It's really strange never faced a problem like this before.

For FTP connection I use a "Allnet ALL1294A Broadband IP-Router" between XBox and PC (Old PC with XP on it). This is where I get the IP 192.168.0.6. I do it all the time.
For "Internet/XLink Kai/ XBMC Cloud" I hook up directly to my modem (as I do with all other XBox after TSOP ect.) This is where I get 0.0.0.0.
Yes, I replaced ICS 1893AF two times on the motherboard (desolder and reinstall new one). I did same for the "Ethernet connector". Didn't help.
Setup on HDD seems to be fine as well... because it works in every other Xbox I own.

Sounds more like maybe that Xbox has an IP, but didn't get the right dns server address. Might be worth checking that.
255.255.255.0 ?

It’s not only Kai, I can’t download from xbmc cloud as well.
Every other Xbox connects without any problems. Same settings for modem and XLink Kai. Same bios, same dashboard, same HDD ect. Basically just different mainboard. -
You know how to connect to XLink Kai? No complex setup… just a Xbox with tsop, XBMC4Gamers set to DHCP, lan cable to modem. Basically I get a IP for example 192.168.1.56… but it doesn’t work. It’s just 0.0.0.0.
For FTP I get IP. 192.168.0.6. Setup is little different. But that’s not important for me. Important is that I don’t get connection to internet (XLink Kai). I have multiple consoles and they all work. Same setup for all of them (hardware/software). -
I have no clue…. For FTP I get IP… but for internet I don’t. I can hook up other consoles at the same time and they work
That’s why I’m asking. It’s no joke. Any ideas what to do? Could it be a console that got banned by Microsoft back in the days?

First time I got no IP on an Xbox Classic!
Add new Caps, 128MB RAM upgrade and it works totally fine.
I use XBMC4GAMERS, iND Bios, just same setup as always..., Network is set to DHCP. Can't get an IP!
Tried two different ethernet ports (ICS 1893AF)... still no IP...
Any solutions, please??
Edit:
-Tried new ethernet connector as well, didn't help...
- FTP connecton works!!

Okay, thanks for the clarification, was hopeing for a file like this.

What info ?
Edit: Oh the game's title as Rocky5 posted many pages ago.
It's stored inside the header of the game's default.xbe file.
For more information, see: .XBE File Format (caustik.com)
Hey there,
I already saw the instruction, but isn't there a different way to change the titles? I don't want to use the "Controller" for this... I want to take the "File that contains the titles", get it onto my PC via FTP and change it by hand (keyboard).
Is there a file like this?

Above answered the first part.
the LED you need to set on your softmod or hacked bios. XBMC doesnt oatch the kernel when changing the LED. UnleashX does just like the softmod or hacked bios does.
Hey Roxky,
which file of XBMC4Gamers contains that info? Because I want to change a lot of titles but I want to use my PC for this.

I can highly recommand Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition - Remix... forget about MC 1 & 2 if you don't really like the series but Dub Edition Remix is worth it...
I remember when we played the s*** out of this game. 100% worth it!

You have a benefit in loading time for a lot of games, this is for sure! I made a video where I compare 733Mhz vs 1,4 Ghz and you have 3 sek faster loading time just for "FarCry Evolution"... combine this with a SSD and you get an insane loading speed/boost. Faster loading time stays even if you patch the xbe file, thats awesome!
You can also see a huge difference if it comes to Ps1 Emulator... as well as picture(video) quality on every other emulatore (way sharper and more colorfull).
Overall I'm very happy with the 1,4Ghz XBox... took me some hours to make my HDD almost perfect... there are just a few very good game titles that I can't get to work but I can live with that. I mean, I have a stack of modded XBox consols, I don't care if I have to take a regular one to play Call of Duty 4 just because it doesn't work on my 1,4Ghz, haha

The reduction circuit doesn't actually reduce the clock speed, so you wont see an application report that. It somehow kills every other cycle to achieve half performance. I wish i understood how. However, if supposedly reducing performance to 733mhz (stock) eqivalent speed doesn't enable compatability with timing-sensitive games, then I'm not sure what the flying fuck its practical purpose actually is.
I wish somebody would be willing to explain why OG xbox games are set up in a way that causes them to vary in speed depending on clockspeed and PC games are not. PC games just vary in performance/framerates.
WTF? Why?
I don't understand either... the switch is usless from my experiance, at least for xbox games. Not sure if there is any difference for movies or emulators... but emulators works all fine for me except of "Ninja Massive Pack"... have to use KAWA-X for Neo Geo Games...
It's really not easy to make all the games work on a 1,4Ghz... some games requier 128MB patch, some not... some require Trusty 1400 patch, some FriendTech... sometimes you have to patch multiple *.xbe files... and some games worked after I patched manually with HxD, for example "Manhunt".
So far it seems like I can't get 72 out of 761 games to work.
-
Thought the same, but it does not work for some reason.
"XBMC3.5.3 - System Info" showes no difference either if I flip the switch, it's always 1402,XX MHz.

Use multiple of these adapters and every tenth has a problem, but that's fine for me... everytime I order 5 I get 8-10... most of the sellers put few more adapters into the box than ordered.
