  1. Got the mod from @Bowlsnapper (Thank you)

I did try the Xbox that looked good and its a fragged unit (i suspect that the first x-mod was loaded with v1.6 firmware that fried my v1.0 system)

I will check it once more when i get the time.

Salut to all of you who helped me out 🤜🤛

  2. Update: didint receive the Openxenium from wiredopposite.com (didint respond on my email either) so be careful when ordering from them.

So Ive had to order from eBay.

    To be continued 👍

You're saying the loose SMDs have been returned to their designated homes? :) That's pretty much essential! Glad you didn't get a bunch of blank TSOPs. I feel like a dick! That's a perfect example of me posting when I shouldn't! :P

Yeah the smd's is home 😁

Ive learned something, no worries 👍

  4. Update, managed to cancel the TSOP order.

Both cards ae prepped for my two OpenXenium mods when they arrive. (even the board with lose smd's are fully assembled)

Thanks for the support from you all.

Only problem with ordering a TSOP chip like that is that it is likely to come blank unless it's been removed from an old xbox and if don't you have a programmer you'll have no way to flash it to see if it works.  You'll also need a copy of an original MS bios or a modded bios of your choice to flash on to it.  Since they are from a 1.0, any 1.0 or 1.1 1mb TSOP should work.  I have a spare 1mb sharp at home on a 1.1 board but won't be there until the middle of next month to remove it.  If you're still in need when I get there I'll remove it and send it to you.

Will try to remove the old burned one and just go with a OpenX, thx for your support, ill pm you if i need the one you got 🙏

    Here's the M29 TSOP:

I have one OpenXenium built and I can build another one for you tomorrow night if you are interested. :) Are you sure you can solder the TSOP? It requires a decent soldering iron, good flux and magnification is almost essential. It DOES require some soldering experience.

    Perfect 🙏

I have a microscope, heat soldering station and a normal soldering iron.

Please hock me up with those two openxenium 😄

I'll pm you about the payment.

Thx for the link, did order the tsop now.

  8. First, did buy OpenXenium chip from eBay, did notice some bios on the ship at startup (flash meny) that already was flashed to it.

When I started up it was fine, did test it by starting OG flash from the xbox, and it started to hissing and smoke, opend it up and saw a ball on the leg on the TSOP (thought oh shit, i did a doodoo)

Ripped the connector out from that board to the new one (the last picture) and gentle assembly the connector and that OpenX mod, and double checked all the components on the board before a boot up, but on the bootup it started to hissing, and I did pull the power cord out (the last picture dont have that big hole on the TSOP) but I suspect that mod-ship is faulty.

The board and cables was proper assembled, the ship on both was fried exactly on the same position.

If I buy a new OpenXenium and a TSOP from here, you guys think I can get the last board working?

(the consoles did work before the mod, they are legit) as I know I did it or a bad mod-ship.

And thank you for the help guys!

I tried to resist the temptation to post. Forgive me.

How did this happen to your TSOP? Did the soldering iron lay against it? Can you take a closer pic of those IC legs on the right, there?

I thought I did a bridge with a solder ball, but I never touched the TSOP, after I mounted the same mod-ship on the second xbox it did start sparkling (smoke on the same place)

  10. I just heated the connector of that board with full blast, this is the 2nd board with the same identical mod-ship problem, fried TSOP.

Gentle as a MF with the assembly, but..... *smoke*

You guys are right about the quality on that fist board 😃

That's the TSOP flash memory chip that holds the BIOS.  You have a modchip installed so don't worry about replacing it.  Unless you really feel you must replace it.

Most likely a Hynix HY29F080T-90.  However, take a close-up picture of it and post it in a reply.

Edit: Corrected flash memory chip part number.

I think the modchip did that short (tried that ship on two old devices)

Can I just remove that chip and use a working mod chip like OpenXenium?

    You think this is fixable?

    Thanks for the help/reply.

    Best regards
