  1. It's all good I finally worked it out just downloaded XBMC4Gamers https://github.com/Rocky5/XBMC4Gamers and it now boots up fine. Thanks for all your help everyone I have learnt loads
  2. @KaosEngineer Sorry completely forgot that link, all done for you. Oh this is good news, would you mind pointing me to a tutorial or informing me of determining what files go where? would the best place to get the files be extracting them from the OGXbox installer iso?
  3. @KaosEngineer Right so the plot thickens, I was able to update the bios by ftping to the c:\BIOS folder and replacing the Bios file with the new cerbios, then I booted the xbox with bank 2 selected and flashed cerbios which seemed to work perfectly. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1juoCT3Mn8nEKP1MS4eXFk5-hKZyKWaNr/view?usp=sharing, however the new HDD still doesn't work I get the following error: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jw9usOhGm877VfXFv2iE0jF-7rw0qchI/view?usp=sharing, I have used Fatexplorer to format the drive and it sees it fine on the PC I am even able to lock and unlock on the Xbox it when the bank switch is set to 2. Unfortunately it seems my drive just will not run the OGXbox installer or Hexen disks, I have tried again with brand new Verbatim DVD-R disks I just get nothing...... is there any way to get all the required dashboard files and system files installed onto the new HDD without using one of the installer disks...
  4. @KaosEngineer "Current Dashboards Installed - C and E Drive Content Check" These are the contents of the drives respectively: Drive C - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1j5OTze4lCt5k0CLd4zQ8Zv_mr-MZLU2u/view?usp=sharing, https://drive.google.com/file/d/1j59FXaCg3CZwKfRzMV3tesT989TR72L_/view?usp=sharing Drive E - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1j-xP_ZyZK0EQPWGZxZoy01VLg8GJHvhv/view?usp=sharing "Modchip Bank Select" Appears to do something, give me the option to Load BIOS from Disk or HDD (see pic) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1j-m-KmEdBP74uSNpfqN2660ckX_43ybr/view?usp=sharing
  5. @MadMartigan Thanks for the info. @KaosEngineer Correct, yeah the Xbox works fine with the original HDD installed solid green and all functioning. After looking online and seeing your comment I think that the issue might have been the fact that I am using DVD - R+ which might be causing issues, found some people were saying that the thomson DVD drive doesn't like them, and can be a bit flaky in general. I have ordered some DVD - R's so fingers crossed I have better luck with them. Awesome news, if not, installing from the original modded HDD will be plan B then, apologies for more questions but where would I find "Evolution-X's dashboard"? "Current Dashboards Installed - C and E Drive Content Check What files and folders are present in the root folder of your Xbox's C and E drives?" Will find out tonight and let you know. "Modchip Bank Select Have you tried booting the console with the Bank select switch set to 2 instead of 1? If not, do so, what happens?" No I haven't yet will test out tonight and see.
  6. @KaosEngineer thanks for that explanation it makes sense. Right so I have all the bits and pieces, put it all together and prepped my 2tb drive using FATXplorer 3.0 Beta application. How do I go about updating the bios as I tried to use the 2tb HDD but the Xbox light was just flashing red so I am assuming I need a new bios. I have taken some screenshots of the avalaunch build: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gnGJCsmHerpOZUDQVGk6AJ7E9x0BV2uZ/view?usp=sharing, https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gpxClxtJxb-4XzohyoiNuqTC9a1-7LCI/view?usp=sharing, https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gwpSyNMV08Ser_QeK20AXgcXypC5xLyd/view?usp=sharing, https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gx4gVxkqD6S9d5B_4WxCo358PBWomSxN/view?usp=sharing I tried to burn OGXBOXINSTALLER to a disk: I used the non pbl version (not sure if this is correct, but it looks like the xbox didn't recognize the disk, I know the Xbox can read disks btw as It came with a few and it plays them fine, is there a specific way you have to burn the image/ specific type of dvd or have I used the wrong image? side note is there a way to update the bios without a burnt dvd? Sorry for all the questions. I Appreciate your time.
  7. @KaosEngineer awesome thanks for your insight, I have taken apart the xbox atm, got the stardock adapter yesterday, just waiting for 80 wide ide cable to come then I will get the X2 bios version for you. All this info is super helpful, so how do the modchips actually work? I am assuming the xecuter 2 is pretty old, but it can still use the new cerbios bios? would it be worth getting a new mod chip?
  8. Excellent, thank you so much. much appreciated dude.
  9. Amazing, Thanks you both for your insight, I will purchase an 80 wire ultra ide cable, as I already have a WD 2TB gold to hand. Might sound like a silly question but where can I get a image of Hexen or OGXBOXinstaller? is google my best friend when it comes to these? also which one would you recommend? @Puritan001 "look for a bad clock capacitor" where would I find this? Also is fatxplorer beta 3 an application that you load to the xbox?
  10. I am fairly technical so I have no problem changing the HDD or using FTP to transfer files if that is possible?, I haven't opened it up yet, but considering it's age will it even use sata drives?
  11. I just bought a Xbox with a xecuter 2 from my a local second hand store . When I boot it up it says xecuter 2, and boots into something called avalaunch. it also has a toggle on the front with three switches, https://drive.google.com/file/d/1b_YYmQVL0LMUz2qJfMLOyjyumgbNirBD/view?usp=sharing Wondering how I could change the HDD and be able to add roms and dashboards, couldn't find that much info online about this chip. Any help will be much appreciated .
