So I can preload the dashboard through Fatxplorer when I format the drive, is there any need for XBoxHDM? What files need to be preloaded - Does the Dashboard go into the C or E partition? Thanks,

I'm currently attempting to hardmod my OG xbox. I bought it a few years ago with a broken hard drive and am finally getting around to fixing it. Having installed Open xenium mod chip and booted to xenium OS I found that the DVD drive couldn't read my copy of hexan - which I was going to use to format the HDD and install XBMC. I know I can format the drive using XboxHDM but I need to read the eeprom, is this true even for a hard modded xbox? I'm quite new to this so I'm not sure what my options are from here, I can try to repair the drive but so far haven't had any success. Any advice or solutions are much appreciated, Thanks in advance, Joe
