The tsop_m7 BIOS will not work with all BIOSes that you attempt to do a TSOP recovery/reflash.   From your experience, it seems like CerBIOS is one of them.

Come to think of it, this might mean why the chip is getting disabled once I hit the tsop_m7 bios but nothing boots even though it appears to be trying.

I need to educate myself on this feature.

It's really useful or will be lol if I fathom it.

I think I will likely be getting it's stock HDD from storage and flashing the bios chip back to stock then re softmodding and then attempt to split the flash using the recovery method.

There's Indbios too, I've read some reports that an earlier version of that worked but since it's a tsop chip and harder to recover I'm going to give it thought before making the next move.

  2. I did it just to do it, no real reason. Just because I wanted to tinker tbh

However no, I mean a sorta non bios..bios that allows this function with the xblast lite. It is tsop_m7.bin

It's supposed to do something with the boot sequence to allow the mod chip access to the Tsop for recovery purposes or half splitting a 1mb tsop chip as I'm trying.

This is the guide I've followed

    https://docs.google.com/document/d/1NdVK8I-BE-ccpVvW9o863IeFBPOvGsZkBfUSSP5U1yo/

Again I'm purely doing this for fun, I may have titan, cerbios, Ind and x2 so I can tinker with those too because with a recovery option on all 4 banks I should have no worries...if I can get the recovery method working.

I must be missing something trivial

Edit: I'm right in thinking if I flash a 256k bios to a 1mb tsop chip with xblast xbe not xblast is it should replicate the bios 4 times across the chip? This would ease some worry about other bios to use as evoxm8 and x2 when on the tsop don't work ( from extensive research ) Cerbios possibly the same?

I'm capable of flashing the tsop back to stock if I can without worries and I'll use a stock HDD that I'll softmod and lock or lock then softmod which ever.

  3. Added a pic of my soldering, the lpc isn't the greatest but that's not given me an issue, there's no solder balls just excess solder.

I've also tested alternative a15 and A19 points on the motherboard with a multimeter and the same points on the chip, both give indication of continuity

I'm going to close it up as I'm starting to think this is not related to the internals anymore

I'm correct in saying that if I was to flash Indbios 256k onto the 1mb tsop with xblast  it'll fill the chip 4 times so there's no corruption?

Same goes if I wanted to experiment with using the original ms bios on there too? Locking a stock HDD with ms dash beforehand.

  4. Hello

I'm having an issue successfully flashing a split Tsop using the xblast lite modchip.

I've albeit believe I've successfully soldered d0, a15 and A19 to the modchip.

I can see the split in xblast os, I can boot either split but it currently has a 1mb cerbios 2.02 on there.

I can boot either bank from the modchip.

My issue is with tsop_m7, I flash this to the 256k bank of the modchip and proceed to boot with hexen inserted that boots off the other bios. I get no display and a solid green lights, eventually the Xbox power cycles back to xblast os.

I've also tried setting the front switches to boot the 256k bank on power on same issue but it'll power cycle every minute or 2.

I've tried setting xblast os to boot bank 2 with the power button. Same issue

The option "force tsop recovery" has been set to both tsop banks - no change

I've also tried tsop_m7 on the 512k xblast lite bank - same issue

I'm stuck, not sure what to try next with the exception of shortening the a15 wire as I know I gave it too much ( approx 8 - 10 cm) but would rather not mess around with it if it's fine.

Thanks for reading, any help is appreciated

  5. Hello

I've been and bought an xbox, Normally i'd mod these myself either Tsop or Aladdin / Similar Mod chip

This one however has an AMD Duo x2. I am wondering what Bios I can stick on it? A bit of googling says x2 3035.63 would be fine but I have the OGXBox 2021 PC Tool Set (25.Mar.2021) and have a ton of Bios to choose from, I normally use X2 3035.137 on a 1.0/1.1 Motherboard or a 512 Bank Mod chip, This one has a Single 512kb?

    Thanks in advance.

  6. Just got it back in my possession.

So I cannot replicate the green tint. 100% it's tsop I did it myself and have reflashed from indbios to evox and visa versa.

    No mod chip installed.

I sold it to someone who has the green tint on their screen, they use a kaico hdmi adapter and I've even tested with this. No green tint at all.

Unsure what it could be, a TV setting? We've switched from pal to NTSC and back

  7. I believe its a Digital Signal problem, Console is set to NTSC-U due to Modding reasons ;)

Don't think it makes a difference in pal

Anyway, Connecting the simple RGB connections its fine, No green tint/hue.

Once a Digital Signal is being out putted it has a Green Hue, This can be via component cable to HDMI.

Its currently flashed with IND Bios, Its a 1.4 Motherboard and is TSOP not chipped.

    Any help is appreciated.

Specific files.  What do they look like?  What's their content?

More info please on how someone else can use what you found so they can play multi-disc games with Ninja Massive.

    Thanks.

In the end I didn't download them as I downloaded the Square soft pack from Backmeups

If I do locate them again though I will post here

  9. After playing with Ninja and Coinops and finding PcsXbox plays more games ( parasite Eve 2 )

I find myself with another question, I've tried but no luck.

I've found out I can't do this with the Cue file ( I think )

    FILE "\-Console Systems\Playstation\Blood Omen - Legacy of Kain\Blood Omen - Legacy of Kain.bin" BINARY

    FILE "\G\CoinOps\NINJA Massive\1stGames\-Console Systems\Playstation\Blood Omen - Legacy of Kain\Blood Omen - Legacy of Kain.bin" BINARY

    FILE "G\CoinOps\NINJA Massive\1stGames\-Console Systems\Playstation\Blood Omen - Legacy of Kain\Blood Omen - Legacy of Kain.bin" BINARY

Are there any alternatives/Methods to do this?

In a nut shell I am trying to use PcsXbox and have it read the .Bin's from Ninja Massive. I know I can set the default location to there but I have a reason why i'd prefer not to lol

  10. Right, there is another Evox in the E/Dash/EvolutionX file path that is the Dash3name part

So, the Evoxdash on the roor of C is just a dummy?

Now I understand these are not the Dash's I talked about but I'll get it working right with these, i have XBMX4Gamers I can rip

  11. Hello

So I have a Chip called a jafar, Its an upgraded Aladdin XT with Xblast. 1 Bank of 512, 1 256 and the last 256 is reserved for the Xblast which always boots first.

My Question is how do I get Dual Dashboards with this? I have UnleashedX as I've always liked it but want to give XBMC a try

Ideally I'm looking to have say Unleashed X boot with the 512mb X2 5035.137 bios and XBMC Boot with the evox.m8plus bios or visa versa

After extensive searching online I am none the wiser, Could someone point me in the right direction to get started?

I've long ago given up even trying to use the specific UX skin making tools. I had UX Architect running on a WinXP laptop and it seemed to me clunky and far from intuitive.

The way I've created UX skins virtually from scratch is by using an existing skin as a base template. That's how my mostly original skins started: improving an existing one that had flaws that needed fixing or features I like missing eg. previews. It builds up from there until, eventually you end up with something better and, as said, mostly original.

About the only thing I don't do is bother with the UX music player even though that can be skinned too. Its great for playing background music but badly flawed as a music manager and IMHO not worth the effort.

UnleashX's own PDF manual is recommended reading as it does cover skin creation, particularly ones just made using the skinning engine ie. no imported images. But even that does not cover all the sources/syntax supported. For instance there is no mention of "zindex" which is the code for layers, practically essential for any sophisticated UX skin construction.

Where do find that sort of information? Other skins; where they are more than just a random background picture and a default skin.xml they're your most useful teaching aid for building your own UX skin.

Thats fair enough, I am confident i'll be able to rip another skin to pieces and figure it out from there. infact I was just looking at that just before I checked here

    Thanks
