  1. well, many days have passed so I just restarted the game. 81% I think I'll upload the savegame myself on gamefaq
  2. This game can brick if you sell the wrong cars, restarting competitions doesn't make you recover money, so has anyone a trainer/save-game/cheat for this game to help me out ? Thank you in advance. Any savegame is acceptable, even if not 100% complete. Nope, there's no trainer for this game in the Evox list, I already looked for it just everywhere. Maybe I'm asking too much: but there's a way to edit the XBX files ?
  3. Looking for the best graphics games for Xbox, something I should not miss to play (but not just graphics, also balanced gameplay... nothing like Splinter Cell games for example, that has good graphics but awful gameplay)
  4. Hello, it's meee.. lol, no Adele, just kidding I was wondering: what are the Xbox-only games (exclusive games made only for Xbox and not for other consoles, only playable on an Xbox) which really deserve to be played and why... VS which games of the same category should be avoided (as they're cr*ppy or just unplayable, bad, lame, etc...) Asking this question because, of course, I've already played a game which I forgot I had for another console and I want to play Xbox authentic games (while maybe leaving the rest for other consoles or PC equals). You can leave a little review and a gameplay screen of each game , so I can have a direct knowledge/preview of the game (especially as regards graphics, as I saw some exclusive games have really their own graphic style ,for that generation of consolles, which is unseen on other consoles)
  5. Posting various questions about XBox here, because I had a really hard time browsing for the answers as the search results gave different answers not matching the matters : 1) Is it ok if I play it for more than 2 hours a day or is there any risk any damage ? I know the temp must be kept between certain values, but I wonder what's your daily usage and the condition of your xboxes just to know if I'm abusing of it or not. 2) can an XBOX360 run classic isos ? Should they be used in ISO-packed formats or can the same Hard Disk be used to load them with a (modded, maybe) Xbox360 ? 3) is there an emulator for PC (Windows) which can run XBox ISO's ? I've tried several ones but some of them have a really limited compatibility list, some others are just not fitted for my system (probably I'll update my hardware soon, so maybe a better PC is needed) 4) is there an emulator for XBox which can run PS1 games just like ePSXe does ? I mean... hardware graphic emulation (Pete's plugins and similar ones), save state ability, cheats, etc... just like ePSXe (great ePSXe player in here XD )
  6. I see... well I guess I'll get that game then, as collector at least.
  7. Practically I have to acquire a certain game (Tenchu - Return from Darkness)... which could be (I'm not sure) the same as "Tenchu - Fatal Shadows" for PS2... but I'm not sure, so has anyone played this game to know if there's anything different than the PS2 version (like... new chars, new missions, new story, new gameplay etc...) ? Also, is there any game/series which is relevantly different between the Xbox and the 6th gen counterparts versions (PS2 and GC, if I'm not missing any other console like... the Gizmondo! lol, jk with this one)
  8. they look interesting is there driving option in them ? yep, played it on PC. I expected more gore honestly. Itchy and Scratchy style lol but no, bouncing people. I guess this is driving-specific, right ? which one is best / most realistic ?
  9. I've already played the GTA and True Crime titles which are available for other consoles and PC, does the XBox support other good contemporary (modern age) open-world / free-roaming action game ? Example: driving, shooting, exploring the surrounding freely (by feet), action/fighting, etc... or genre-specific (like only driving, only fighting, only shooting, etc..) in a whole city to explore (with no loading screens or mission sub-divisions...)
  10. that's cool (literally, lol) well, the fans yeah they're a bit loud but it's no worry for me if it means a healthier console on the long run... also the TV makes bzz sounds so they both make a good background noisy orchestra in the end lol (really old TV but surprisingly better than the newer one for RGB / Scart visuals).
  11. yup slayers it's evox, it uses farenheit, it seems (just checked at boot, these are the values): MB 87.8F HDD 57.2F CPU 99.1F But they get higher after I play for a while (1 hour or so) example: CPU goes around 110F (if I recall correctly last time I played it) I'm from Sicily, so very hot all around (but I've just placed the Xbox in the colder room of the house... afternoons here are boiling) should I worry / set different fan speed ?
  12. What is the average temperature of a modded Xbox (at boot and after playing for 1 hour, just an example ) ? Does the temperature get higher if games are played from HD or discs ? What to do if it's too high / how to change the fan settings to reduce the temperature (in Slayers 1.7 or other dashboards like XMBC or Unleash, etc...) ? Is there any other setting to check in order to keep the temperature stable or lowest as possible?
  13. Well, the point (I've explained 3 times already, lol) is that I want both a way to transfer contents and a way to backup them. It's my personal worry, so it's ok if it's not understood, afterall direct FTP transfer is simpler (but not in this case, unfortunely). Actually, some games can really fit one DVD or even one CD, it depends on their size and the way how their contents are compressed (especially videos which sometimes can be like reduced to 0.4% of their size, if there's no worry about quality). Luckily I've found the ones which were small enought to fit one DVD (but I've seen some even smaller than the ones I got)... while I know most games are huge and some of them even require a dual layer.. in that case I think I'll just backup them in zipped formats. ------- Anyway, update: problem solved. I burned the XISO that I've made with c-xboxtool205, it runs well (nice launcher, btw), it can also be ripped with DVD2Xbox but it's all inside one folder ( I guess I can move the contents one by one if I want to select them separately). Also the compression of wmv files worked... but videos show really corrupted (not a big problem anyway, what matters is the gameplay afterall). thanks anyway you all, I was just afraid to try it myself , hopefully no DVD's were wasted, lol...
  14. I have no home network, therefore there's no way beside moving the Xbox to where the PC is or viceversa... and that's a lot of problem, that's why I wanted to use a DVD so I could have both a way to transfer files and a backup source. I'm not looking for further programs, I want to understand how to work with the ones I already have. For example c-xboxtool205 seems to do the job well, as regards making the ISO's, but I'm not really sure how the DVD will launch on Slayers2.7 dashboard or in the file manager (as I want the DVD to be both launchable/playable AND explorable/copiable to the HD of the Xbox). So if anyone has experience about the problems I talked about on the first post, or if anyone can actually answer to them, that would be great! I'll re-write them so they're more understandable: 1. Does converting/compressing video format corrupts the readability/functionality of a game ? Example: if I lower the quality of a movie, will it make the game crash ? I'm asking this because all the files exceed 100mb the size of the DVD, so I can just "shrink" some videos, but I don't know if this will make the game crash (example: if the game checks file-size, not just the name and format) 2. If I want a playable multigame DVD iso, using c-xboxtool205 , what's the difference between MenuX and MXM ? Once the ISO it's made, can it be burnt directly with Imgburn ? 3. Once the multigame type is selected, iso made and burnt on DVD, will files be explorable ? Will DVD2Xbox rip them all in a single voice (in the game selector) or do I have to use the File Manager to copy the games manually (each game folder one by one) ? How they will look like on screen, will the menu show a list? Will the games be ordered in folders exactly like I add them on the c-xboxtool205 list ?
  15. I know about that, but my Xbox is in another room than my PC so I can't transfer files via FTP. Also the purpose of the DVD is both backup / playable disc ... so in case the HD screws up, I still have the disc, you know ( i remember I've already answered this question before, in another thread :S ). It's no problem to me to burn a DVD, but I need to know specifically the answers to my questions so I can figure things out better for further interactions with ISO's and discs... and also to understand such programs better. If anyone can answer my questions, I'd be really grateful, thank you.
  16. So, I have 5 games which fit a 4.7GB DVD disc. Problem1 : some files are wmv (yep, normal wmv videos which even my computer can play) so they can be compressed / converted to lower formats. My question about them is: will it "break" the game if I compress them (I mean, will the game display the usual "your disc is broken" message, making the game crash?) or can they even be replaced (example: same file format, different name?) Problem2 : the only program I know to make a XISO with them is c-xboxtool205 . What do I have to choose : MenuX or MXM options ? Once the ISO file is done, can I just burn it with Imgburn to make it work on the Xbox or do I have to patch it somehow with other programs? Problem3 : if I succeed making such DVD, what will happen if I want to transfer the games to the HD of the Xbox ? Will DVD2xbox utility merge all games into ones ... or can I just use the File Manager to copy the folders manually ? Thank you all for any response, I know it sounds pretty complex, but I just want to waste no DVD's as they're pretty expensive here.
  17. @HDShadow uhm... do you mean Dino Crisis 3 the "gun survivor" one (that sort of dinosaurs-themed House of the Dead which, yeah, kinda dissapointed me too) ? or the exclusive Dino Crisis 3 for xbox (which should be more like the first two episodes as regards gameplay)? tbh, that's the opposite case for me. Actually I always kinda hated Silent Hill series, or disliked it for being too psychological, ambiguos, controversial, unrealistic... I always considered it just like Konami's reply to Capcom's series. BUT Silent Hill 4 was like... wow because it has a different approach than the other episodes. Actually it's my favourite one, I wonder why the critics were so harsh about it, maybe what p*ssed them off was the inability by the player to defeat ghosts which are, yeah, a great pain in arse throughout all the game XD (unless you got the famous "sword of obedience"). To me, my top 5 fav SH episodes is: 1. Silent Hill 4 (xbox) 2. Silent Hill Origins (PSP) 3. Silent Hill 2 (PS2) 4. Silent Hill 3 (PS2) 5. Silent Hill (PS1) is it any different than the PS2 version ? I would try if it there's a real difference (or improvement or else) looks good by the screenshots, to me... I think I gotta try it thanks
  18. Just finished Silent Hill 4 and it was just like... wow. So, beside Cold Fear and Dino Crisis 3 which are surely on my wishlist, do you guys know any other survival horror for the ogxbox ?
  19. Thank SS_Dave, I'll try that
  20. Yep, even without HDD the first screen is the green fluid animation, with "Evox" on an orange rounded-triangle shape on the top left of the screen. If I just press the power button it gives me error, if I hold the power button the circle around the "X" button (on the consolle) becomes orange/red and the dashboard starts (if the connected HDD is the original one, with Evox and stuff, obviously). Yep, I just want to upgrade the HDD, as I said. 120GB Maxtor already compatible with Evox according to the Compatibility Chart. So I just wonder what's to be done correctly to make it work (recognized by the system, then making the system load the start dashboard on C ). Of course I think games and apps go in F as it's the largest.
  21. Ok, but where do I start from ? Do I have to format the disc first or do other things in order to make the XBOX recognize the HDD ? Sometimes I get the 5 error code (meaning that it misses the C partition and doesn't load the dashboard, so I've read) after installing it all. It copies all files correctly (as I see the partition free space decreasing as files get copied) but when I reboot without the disc it displays the 5 error code, some other times the 16 or 13 (I don't remember which one tbh) What if I'm wrong and the consolle is actually softmodded ? As I said, I'm not completely sure about it. Is there another procedure to follow for a softmodded consolle ?
  22. So I got Slayer 2.7 properly running on a DVD-R, but I don't know where to start from . I know some options can ruin the HDD or the XBox so I would need to know what is the correct installation procedure. I have a 120Gb HDD (a compatible Maxtor, according to this list Xbox Hard Drive Compatibility Chart ) that is connected instead of the previous one (that works fine with Evox already running), but I literally don't know what to do once the functions list of the installer appears on screen. For example, I don't know about Kernel compatibility, if the HDD is to be considered as RETAIL or UPGRADE/BIG HD, etc. I'm not completely sure, but I think my consolle is Hard Modded, because I've read somewhere that if the seals have holes around the screws or if the screen flickers a bit then it means it's a hard mode, but again I'm not sure. I don't really want to touch the internal part of the console more than the necessary to check it out (I've been told the modchip is visible somewhere), honestly. Any suggestion from somebody who already installed it?
  23. yep, I know, but that's necessary for XBox original discs. It takes a lot to 1. rip the game on the xbox 2. transfer it via ftp to PC (took half an hour just for 2.5gb last time). I just used Isobuster to check the burned DVD, found the session and extracted it as ISO, all files are there. Strangely Isobuster doesn't show them, but inside the ISO (once extracted) they're visible (with MagicISO). Lol how many programs already anything works fine anyway, I think I got it. now I just have to wait for that ebay auction so I can install the new HD.
  24. Ok, it all worked fine with a game I've recently downloaded. It came as zipped files (most probably to use directly on HD), I just extracted them, converted them into XISO with Qwix, burned the XISO with Imgburn at 2x and the Xbox was able to read it well (played a little bit too a time trial challenge, no problems). Thank you all for the hints so far Just one more little question, now that I've burned the XISO on the DVD, the PC (Windows) doesn't read it (it doesn't display any file, I guess that's normal, as it's a burned XISO). Which program do I use to view/extract the contents of the disc ? (Practically the backwards route) I tried with Mulleter but it doesn't recognize my usb external DVD drive. :edit: nevermind Was able to do it with Isobuster, problem solved. Thank you all again :)
  25. Thanks for the XDVDMulleter, I didn't know that program. So basically I have to check if it's XISO - if it's XISO, I'll just have to burn it with Imgburn as usual - if it's not XISO I have to extract the files into a folder, then make an XISO with XDVDMulleter (considering the root as the folder containing "default.xbe", I suppose?) or Qwix and burn the rebuilt XISO with Imgburn ?
