So the one game was fine but once i went over the 137gb things went haywire? So kinda tricked me in to thinking it was working. I have an Aladdin chip I will just swap that in instead. Kinda liked the idea of using the og xbox with an og chip but seems not worth the effort.

Do you know what modchip you have? if its an old one like i have see my issue thread about renaming the dash file. When you say play a game is it a retail disc or backup? If its a burned backup and it loads but hexen disc does not, try burning Hexen again, make sure you use dvd-r. If AID worked I assume your drive reads backups and is just an issue with the copy of hexen you have of how it was burned.

This xbox has been a pain. Thought i had everything sorted ftp’d a game to the new hdd I installed, loaded up unleashx and played game fine. Sent about 20 more games over. Turned on xbox to do more transfer and frag. Disconnected D0 wire boots fine so reflow solder on modchip reconnect DO and boots up unleashx like previous. F: drive size says 0, file manager shows nothing there. Boot Hexen disc and drive shows like 600gb free and file manager shows all my games. Reboot unleashx and F: drive says 0. What gives?

Bingo, it is all coming back to me know about this ancient modchip. As has been posted it just allows unsigned code to be run so just have to name / rename the dash you want to run by default. Ftp to the box renamed and now it works. Hexen install is a mess, stuff everywhere. Think i should start from scratch before i start copying games over. AID a better way to go? My goals are to boot unleashX, rip my fav games to the hdd and maybe install some emulators.

This is my original xbox i gave to my bro forever ago and all he ever did was play tiger woods. My other xbox with the xecuter 3 is packed up somewhere for my move and i dont know where otherwise id use that. So hard to find info on the old 1.1 version xecuter but it boots game backups and installer disks without having to hold power. i also have a 1.6 xbox someone gave me after a failed aladdin chip install but the traces on that MB are really messed up so thats out. it is amazing all the knowledge that i have forgotten about this over the years.

Tried xbmc and evox still boots to ms dashboard. Can xecuter 1.1 not handle this or do i need to ftp and manually change?

Bios says: Xecuter Its the old version 1.1 xecuter so i dont think the buos can be changed

I have a 1.0 Xbox with an Xecuter 1.1 modchip installed. Used the Truhexen disk to install a brand new sata drive no issues. Trouble i am having is getting tge xbox to boot automatically to UnleashX. It only boots to the normal MS dash no matter what I select in Truhexen as my default dash. Have tried Slayer and AID clean installs choosing UnleashX but also always boots to normal MS dash. What am I missing? i did remove clock capacitor but i dont think that should matter
