Hello everyone, I need some help and or suggestions. I have a v1.6 motherboard I was recapping. I would really like to fix this motherboard, but I'm thinking it's a goner. I was down to the last 2, the two small 10uf SMD caps. What I thought was movement from desoldering was taring a trace and both pads off the board. There is one trace going at an angle to a via, the via seems intact, but it REALLY hard to get anything to solder to it. I've tried tacking some tiny stranded wire to the traces that go to the left and right of the other side with no luck, I did remove the solder mask and have more solder mask. I stupidly/lazily used my soldering iron to remove it instead of my reflow machine I had right next to me. I have most of the tools, but that work is so tiny. Even if I fix the traces, once I try to put the cap down I think it will all melt and disconnect. Are there other points on the board I can jumper to? The big concern is the two vias, the other side looks like it may connect to a SMD resistor close by, but without diagrams I have no idea. I will admit I ordered a new 1.6 motherboard, but it could be cool to get this one to work, especially after spending hours replacing all those caps. I'm going to have to pull all the caps, and the one larger SMD cap I put on honest looks a little cooked after I had trouble getting it on with my iron. Then I switched to my reflow machine and solder paste like I should have done in the first place... I really screwed this recap project up. If I have to resort to the replacement board, I'm going to transfer over the through-hole caps. If anything I have entertained someone! Thanks! Devin

Hello Friends. I need some help: my Original Xbox 1.6 (has an aladdin modchip and 500GB SATA HD) used to work very well. Suddenly one day it started to show error 13. Now I realized that it only works when I connect the HD on the middle connector of the IDE cable and the DVD drive on the end connector (this way it works correctly). If I connect the normal way (DVD in the middle connector and HD in the end connector) it shows error 13. I am using the stock IDE cable and I tested other 40 wire IDE cable and the result is the same. Does anybody know why this is happening? Is this happening because I am not using a 80 wire IDE cable? But it used to work with this stock cable. Can somebody help me to understand this problem?
