  1. I appreciate the offer of help. I understand how it works. I’m a long standing user of the M8plus bios. I’m in middle of ftp’ing F and G games folders to a newly purchased 8TB external backup. After I save myself the time of disc by disc game reloading, I’ll attempt another mission of restoring the dash without having to build from scratch again. I don’t declare to know all and I am open to suggestions and any help offered......After safe transfer of the games(all else is safely transferred through Hexen) I would greatly appreciate your help in any way. If you are able to, I would reimburse you for your time.

I do thank you for your offer of help in any case. I was upset after a 12 hour waste of time attempting to restore the Bios (successful) and a backup of entire C and E partitions.

Thank the Gods of gaming for allowing me to ftp through Hexen.

  2. Noooo, it’s absolutely NOT your HDD!

Same thing just happened to me updating to the “recommended” Bios.

I am LIVID. You are correct, through trial and error I found only HeXen

is able to see my full 2TB (really3) of partitions I spent endless time loading my

drive game by game. I’ve been building these things since I helped with

Chip designs in early 2000’s. I own my games.... Shame on me for purchasing them. Now

all I’ll ever play will be downloaded and stored on a server. I’m pulling my hair out going

through code byte by byte to find out where the issue is. When I find the D!(k H0!e

who uploaded the exact same bios you used, I’ll make sure his IP is slowed to a

1990 24kb dial up speed with regular maintenance to his/her miserable existence

    until im satisfied.

Lesson learned, bad on me.... Redundant backups here on out!

In case it doesn’t show in my writing here, I am PISSED!

The set of cables I was more so speaking of came in a set with a similar power cable and an SATA extension cable that you use from the usual recommended IDE to SATA adapter to the switchboard. My switchboard also came with very nice SATA/PSU cables to the 4 individual drives. I still have a little more than a full drive of space left.

Ps..... do yourself a favor and stay away from Hitachi “Death Star” hdd’s. Or any Hitachi drives..... don’t ask. The incident was 15 years ago and still too soon to speak of, lol

Do you have any instructional material for this mod?  I'm interested in attempting it.  Thank you.  (Maybe create a new thread about it so that this one stays cleaner for Ryzee119's topic.)

    I second that request please!

this is good stuff to keep this thing alive after all these years. Rooting through old stuff I found 3 new Xenium chips from days of old. One being the ultra rare still in sealed pack Xenium Gold that was their last Xbox design. Plated in 18K

    Link the switch board Pl0x?

Also so how does this connect to the board and power the drives? Cabling nightmare??

The switchboard link above does work with an IDE adapter/cables to the Sata drives. As I posted above, I’ll find the links and post here when I get a bit of time. I’ll pop the top off the Xbox and snap 1 or 2 pics as well.

I would imagine something like this would work..

    https://smile.amazon.co.uk/Richer-R-Control-Selector-Switcher-Computer-default/dp/B07FYJ2NJB/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=sata+switch&qid=1555089301&s=gateway&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1

You would have to mod the supplied cables but it should work.

That is EXACTLY what I’m talking about. It’s been almost 18 months to 2 years, but you can find the correct cables without need of modifying them. If I can find the link, I’ll post it.

I've done that with Logitech controllers in the past. I think it's been answered since I originally asked (or maybe on the Facebook Xbox group), but with this set up, that's not true to my understanding. The port will be usable so long a controller is not connected to the receiver for that port.

For example, 360 controller paired to port 1, you may still use wired on ports 2, 3, & 4 even though all four are wired for wireless.

    Nice!

  8. I had success with a 4 port SATA switch board. Before boot, just depress one of four buttons for desired drive and power up! I easily fit 4, 2TB 2.5 inch drives in case with the switcher. I think I have over 700 movies and roughly 300 Xbox games plus the Emulators. I keep it in bedroom on separate TV while the wife watches Housewives of WTF ever, lol. I’m never bored  :)

So yes, I’ll confirm multiple Hdd’s do work!

You just need to ftp everything. But it becomes second nature after a while. I can’t remember the last time I had to pop the top to temporarily rip a game over.

You obviously need to setup all 4 drives independently as if it’s the system operating master.

I haven't seen where he's mentioned making an internalized "version".... but it seems to be very easily internalized yourself.

My plan is to solder all four micro USB cables to the the motherboard at the underside of the two controller port headers. This would leave all four ports usable.

Then I'd either add a USB port at rear of Xbox, or remove upper shielding and internalize the Xbox 360 receiver with a tact switch at the rear of the xbox extended from the receiver to sync controllers.

I’ve soldered internal wireless controller from the Madcatz controllers of the glory days. When you do this, it still renders the external port you used useless.

Sorry for bad news. But I’m for one of these 360 adapters! All the OG Xbox controllers feel clunky to me now... Except the Street Fighter Arcade Stick setup! I’ll use until the day I die!

Does it work with the Chinese knock off wireless receiver? Original Xbox receivers are getting harder to find   :(

  10. New here,

If it is a handheld Xbox, I believe I am a plethora of knowledge. As far as I know, I built the only handheld. Ran on camcorder batteries. I think some info is still left on another site I frequent. Not sure what the link posting rules are or mentions of other sites.
