  1. Again, I don't think anyone here really cares (not that there isn't still some consideration to be made, because it is Xodus') about the original XOS binaries being used, we were just discussing it in the context of you using the MakeMHz-patched version on your hardware, but enjoy your "pineapple free" version
  2. I wish you the best of luck proving me wrong.
  3. It's not, and nothing I've said in regards to your intent of using Dustin's software binaries on "your" hardware has been untrue. I'm not sure why that programmer repo was DMCA'd, but my only concern in this thread has been the malicious hardware cloning of the HD+ (an active product line) and obvious intent to use Dustin's HD+ software as-is along with it (albeit making others flash it for you), as well as using Dustin's XOS patches for your modchips which pair well with your cloned HD+ hardware. I can't speak as to why Dustin removed Xodus from the XOS menu, and I wasn't referring to the general use of XOS as everyone does it and just assumed that was the common "accepted" (even if still wrong) baseline we've all moved past from, but the patches to it are Dustin's work, not yours. Agreed, he's a cool dude and doubt he would care.
  4. I know you don't know any better so it's fine you think otherwise, but he will release products with other people's closed-source software, and it's not going to make him look bad as we will just have transitioned to the last step of the narcissist's prayer.
  5. They're not unfounded claims, and I seem to have touched another nerve simply stating the facts. The XeniumOS theft without attribution can be easily verified via Nem's own picture above depicting V2.3.5, and with the HDMI stuff you'll find out soon enough once they're in production and he doesn't have his own software to write to them The Xenium modchip hardware itself looks great though, so it's not all bad
  6. It's his way of skirting around directly violating copyright (yes, Dustin does something similar by having people upload their 5858 kernel for Stellar, but it's not the same thing) by distributing the MakeMHz HD+ firmware on them. Instead, Nem plans on shipping people programmers with a link to download the MakeMHz software because Nem didn't/won't write his own; strange how the MakeMHz firmware works without modification on Nem's hardware if it isn't a clone It's going to be a similar situation with Nem's Xenium modchip using Dustin's XeniumOS fixes, but I bet he just ships those with it pre-installed anyways because it's less noticeable to end-users now that he's removed the MakeMHz branding
  7. What about this? It would be nice to see more photos of the install, particularly the flex portion around the encoder, because if I'm picking out multiple stray seemingly-conductive stuff floating around in a high-level blurry photo, there's likely others elsewhere There's still a real possibility something has been damaged in this process however. You can leave d0 shorted to ground and it will always boot from LPC, provided you have a functional modchip present.
  8. Sounds like an install issue. I'd do a good sweep of the board for stray solder (or conductive pieces) and make sure there aren't any unwanted bridges. I've highlighted one area of interest. It's possible you've already damaged something if any of the bridges (now or previous) dealt with a power rail.
  9. The progression from "I created this" to "what are you going to do about it" is incredible. At the very least, I'd expect an apology (not to me) when Nem releases this hardware for the sole purpose of being used with Dustin's firmware.
  10. Yes, and I know where you're trying to go with this, but the following is different in Ryzee's situation: The original Xenium chips hadn't been produced/sold in 15+ years I don't believe he ever sold them Both the hardware and firmware were fully open-sourced The firmware was reverse engineered, not stolen He credited the original creators and didn't lie about the source of inspiration He's one of the most selfless people there is in this scene
  11. I'm still interested in Nem's input on all of this. The hardware is indisputably a 1:1 clone, but what's the plan for the firmware side of things? Is he expecting people steal Dustin's or is he creating his own? I already know the answer, but I'm giving Nem the chance to own up to it.
  12. This community never ceases to disappoint me. As a creator and general contributor to all things Xbox, it makes me less inclined to help people, and I'm sure others feel the same way.
  13. This might interest those that want to turn their retail/debug Xbox into a fully-functioning development kit without having to spend $500+ on one. It works on any version 1.0 through 1.2 motherboard and can be great for troubleshooting crashes of all kinds without requiring the use of XDK software. I'm selling pre-made units for $30 plus shipping and would also like to get a feel for how many might want one in Europe so I can bulk-ship to a distributor to help save some on shipping costs as it's usually around $15 USD to ship from the US otherwise. Everything is fully open-source if you'd like to build/sell them yourself as well. Any questions, feel free to ask. https://github.com/XboxDev/serial-usb-adapter
