I recently implemented Red Herrings clock cap bypass on my 1.6 mobo and it did not work. Unfortunately I lost r7p3 and r7p6 in the process but I still managed to get the XBOX to boot by just installing an LED in place of the cap and connecting the positive leg to the 2.5 v side of r7p6.
Does anyone know if this is safe? I left the xbox running for an hour or two and seemed fine. Also does anyone know what the purpose of r7p3 and r7p6 are?
