  1. This is just incredible...

Honestly, I'd donate an X3, I've got one working and one... not so much.  However, unless someone were to take it all the way and reproduce or at least re-imagine the X3CP or the pro switch to go along with it, then I don't really see the point.

  2. So, I just wanted to jump in and vouch for this project, I was the fellow that had asked Ryzee119 if this was possible and he was kind enough to send me a prototype model at cost.

Let me just say that this is the only way I'll be playing my Xbox in the future. I own a pair of Logitech wireless controllers and just hated the feel of them, but I also can't bear having a tangle of controller wires strewn across my living room now that I'm accustomed to the convenience of wireless.

So for the last couple of weeks in my spare time I've been playing through sections of Halo (the game I played most by a longshot back in the day). First with an S controller, then with the 360 controller. Often I forgot to switch back just because the 360 controller felt so good in the hand and any difference in responsiveness was imperceptible to me.

Tldr: get this mod, you'll thank yourself.

P.S. anybody in the market for some Logitech wireless controllers? 😆

  3. I agree with the sentiments being expressed here.  I've already done an HDMI install using Kevtriss' HDMINES and UltraHDMI (internal HDMI for the NES and N64)  Neither of those were a simple job and both came with the understanding that DIY was not for first timers and was intended for experienced installers only. I don't believe that either offered any customer support beyond an online tutorial and a good installation video.

If you don't want to put up with order fulfillment you could work with https://www.game-tech.us/ like Kevtriss does.  They open up preorders every so often and when they get enough they order a large batch of units from China.  I had to wait 6 months to get my UltraHDMI, installed it myself and couldn't be happier with the process because it makes available obscure tech that's a must have for retro enthusiasts like me.

N64 Freak we're practically begging you to release an install kit! I'd pay $100+ for a quality internal DIY solution!

  4. Here are two articles from hackaday that are covering similar territory, either might be helpful for creating a solution:

The first uses a micro-controller to interface between an N64 and a wireless 360 adapter for the PC

    https://hackaday.com/2018/07/31/add-on-board-brings-xbox-360-controllers-to-n64/

The second article has more to do with creating wireless controllers out of refurbished retro controllers.  Personally, if I could mod my Duke and my S to work wirelessly with my OGBox, that would be my preferred solution as it would preserve the original "feel" of the console. But I would ABSOLUTELY take a 360 controller over my current mess of wires.

As a Canadian I don't know what it means anymore so I was curious what OP's thoughts were.  My only interaction with the flag has been on the Dukes of Hazzard growing up.  And the fact that he's from MI didn't make much sense as to why he'd be flying the flag.  It's a really well-done paint job and flows great with the lines of the top of the console.  I was mildly curious as to why he chose it and thought I'd ask.  But yeah no worries.

I just wanted to explain myself so people don't think i was egging him on to expose a big thing.  That's not how I roll and I don't want you chaps thinking i'm a shit-disturber.

I'll admit that when I first saw your post that I immediately thought "Great, now we've got SJW's coming for the mod scene,", thank you for the clarification on your original comment.and restoring my faith in the scene.

  6. Just a thought, recently it came to light that the pound plug and play cable that converts analog to digital in cable has compatibility issues with 1.4 xbox consoles. (As luck would have it, I own one of these consoles).

Have you tested on 1.4?  And if so, how do they fare?

  7. Following.  I was literally just googling around about this last night.  If you come up with a solution that doesn't lag then consider me in line to buy one!  I wonder if there were a way to use the xbox one controller via a blutooth dongle in a similar way to the method that 8bitdo uses on their classic nintendo controllers?
