Not every game supports widescreen, some can be patched others not.

Edit: I tried the Aladdin modchip in a 1.4 Xbox, and it worked just fine there.
Did you flash correct Bios on your modchip that is 1.6 compatible?
From Reddit: "If you cut the LFRAME trace it completely prevents the stock ROM in Xyclops chip to be loaded. FRAG behavior (Reboot 3 times and Flash Red And Green) is then expected when no chip is inserted"
So I assume -> in your case, modchip bios is just wrong,
Want a working EvoX for 1.6 (my personal bios)? Just tell me how big your modchip flash block is and location of your dashboards

Hi. welcome onboard.
better practise on some dead PC mainboards (with soldering flux) before working on Xbox MB.
Some tipps how it works great for me:
1. apply flux to point and cable | 2. Apply tiny amount of solder to your soldering iron | 3. Tap point once with it (The point should hold some solder now)
4. Apply solder to your wire too | 5. Remove rest of solder from your soldering iron with desoldering wick (It should be clean now) |
6. Hold cabel in position to point and tap it once again with your Iron
common mistakes:
Dont hold your iron to long, tip points just once or twice (thats enough as long its heated up properly) | To long while to hot - Result: Lifing pads
Dont use to much solder -> less means more here
Dont worry, you will improve we all did start

Any reason for stock piling so many Xboxs?
In my opinion most unmodified OGX will die some day in "customers" hands, either due cap leaking, hdd failing or general fault. And most of them customers will trash it when its broke, rather then getting it repaired by someone.
Im glad people like us clean, fix and improve these systems to extend ogx lifetime much more.

AFAIK IDE HDDs are out of production for a long time now. Someday they will get more rare & expensive.
Sata HDDs are so cheap these days, 30-40$ for a brand new 1TB drive.

I like EvoX on TSOP because its very stable and there is no config on HDD to mess up. With EVTool its possible to edit the BIOS before flashing, setting its size, dashboard locations, flubber color and stuff like that.
If its a Winbound Flash I use Gentoox Loader for flashing, for everything else EvolutionX with proper md5 of that mod bios in evox.ini

A SOIC8 flash clip should work too. Just be sure the programmer has pins for it.
Then clip it on consoles EEPROM for read/write, no need to solder anything

Only that games who support 1080i, Others fallback to 720p or even 480p.

that Xplorer360.beta6 file I have has the same detection. Its just Bkav and ClamAV, so I think its fine..Just false positive here, nothing to worry..

Yes it will do it, just order one preflashed
Rebuild hdd on console via hexen/slayers (like wikati mentioned) or on PC via xboxhdm.
-
I would solder a modchip to bypass the need of a locked drive.
Then creating a xbox hdd via xboxhdm.

Oh that board looks really burned. To much heat applied. That's also a reason why the pads got lifted.
Don't worry we all started somewhere . I suggests practice soldering on any other broken or unused boards first, web guides can't give the true experience.
You can also send me this 1.6 mainboard, I can probably still safe it!
