[SOLVED] Help with Hi-Res on PAL Xbox

Hi everyone from Italy.

I just purchased a component cable to improve the resolution of my xbox, modded with Evolution-X V+3935.
I bought the cable after watching some youtube tutorials and reading some posts online where they claimed that by connecting the Xbox through the component cable and selecting NTSC in the game region settings of the Evo-X dashboard, the possibility to select different resolution would automatically appear in the Microsoft Dashboard also on PAL Xboxes.
I have done all that but still no option to select different resolutions in the video settings of the Microsoft dashboard. I am stuck with the standard resolution.
What am I doing wrong ? Am I missing something ?
I read somewhere that on PAL Xboxes the hi resolution settings have been removed from the dashboard, and that this would require softmodding to reinstall them. Not sure if this is required also with an hard modded console, or if I am facing some other problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated !!

You have to change the entire xbox to ntsc not just the game or dash. I think Rocky5 tools disk and hexen both have a area for it,  but I don't remember specifics. I feel like you had to boot the original dash then in its settings change region.

It's fine to do that because modded xbox are region free so your PAL games would still work fine but you may need ntsc ones to have HD on that I'm unsure.

Changing it in the game or dash isn't sufficient, you've got to set the xbox to ntsc, I think they're maybe newer better way on rock 5 tools (like nkpatcher thing or something)  but I can't recall for sure.

Run the EnigmaH-X Video Switcher v2 Xbox application to switch from PAL to NTSC mode.

https://legacy.downloads.diomtec.com/mnt/downloads_ams3_01/old_downloadshomebrew/xbins/Console Based Applications/apps/utilities/video mode switch/video_select_v2_enigmah-x.rar

High-definition resolutions are only available on the Xbox when running in NTSC mode.

Thank you about the link. I downloaded the archive but there's no instructions attached. I wonder if this iso can be extracted and uploaded to the hard drive to be run off of the Evo-x dashboard, because when I decided to revive my long stored xbox i realized the DVD is no longer working. Not reading anything, probably some lens issue.
I normally extract the isos with XDVDMulleter and then upload to the xbox's hard drive through FTP. Works a charm.
Not sure this would work with the Enigmah-x iso though, or if it requires being run off of the DVD from the Microsoft console.

I decided to revive this console specifically to play Richard Burns Rally, hope the PAL version installed on the hard drive will work if I set the console to NTSC. I have a 360 as well but there is no half decent rally simulation for that platform.

Yes, the content can be extracted, use Qwix or C-Xbox Tool, from the XISO disc image in that archive and uploaded to a subfolder of the Apps/Applications directory on your Xbox to run it.

Edit: Extracted files RAR archive:

https://www.mediafire.com/file/cn3k3s719e6cb3j/video_select_v2-extracted_files.rar/file

The instructions to use the application are displayed onscreen when you run it.  IIRC, press (A) to set PAL mode, press (B) to set NTSC mode.  Exit the program, ??? - reboot with IGR button combo.

Edit2: You can also run an XISO disc image from a modded Xbox that supports mounting and running XISO disc images from the hard drive.  Rocky5's Xbox Softmodding Tool softmodded consoles support doing so by adding a properly edited (internal XBE Title modified) NKPatcher drive image utils attach app, renamed to default.xbe, in the same subfolder that the XISO disc image is stored.

The process of doing so on a hard modded console is a bit more complex.  But, when using a supported modified Xbox BIOS, it can do so too.

Ok, everything seems to work just fine. I have hard rebooted the Xbox and seems to keep the new setting. I have enabled all resolutions, 480, 720 and 1080, in the MS dashboard, not sure if this is correct. I have tried a few games on the hard drive and all work ok. Thanks a lot, you've been great help !!
